CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Tasyra

I sat in the dimly lit corner of the slave quarters, my heart pounding with a mix of fear and determination. I had been carefully crafting a plan to escape the fortress, and now, as I looked across at Fagel, my trusted friend and confidant, I knew that the time had come to share my audacious scheme.

“Fagel,” I began, looking over to where he sat. We had snuck out and we were sharing our usual moments of companionship. My voice was low and urgent as I continued, “I've been thinking. We can't stay here any longer. We have to find a way to escape this place.”

Fagel's eyes widened with surprise, and he leaned in closer, his expression a mix of concern and disbelief. “Tasyra!” He shushed, “You know how dangerous that would be. The risks are too great. We could be caught, or worse…”
