~∆~ Kane's POV ~∆~

The moment she stepped into view, everything inside me went completely insane.

Ray, my wolf, started pulling at my mind as if he was trying to rip his way out of me. I'd never felt him this wild. Not even when I found our mate.

'Familiar. She is familiar.' Ray's word kept bouncing around my head as I watched her break eye and leaves. As she passed, her scent suddenly fills my lungs.

Wildflowers. Fresh and sweet, like a field in spring after it rains. It slammed into me so hard I actually stopped breathing for a second. Heat rushed through my entire body, settling low in my loins that made it me shift in my seat.

What the hell is going on? Every shift in my seat only made it worse. My mate had never made me feel like this. Nothing had ever made me feel like this. It was like my body was rebelling against me, responding to this stranger in a way that made no sense.

She was human. I could tell that much. But why was I reacting this way? I just found my mate. Eva was pe

~∆~ Sophia's POV ~∆~He asked me to stop, but I didn't. I couldn't stop. Not when his hand was around my neck like this. Not when every cell in my body was screaming for more. His hand left my pinned hands and went to my waist, possibly to stop me from moving. However, my hands slid up his chest, feeling his muscles beneath. His heart was racing under my palm, beating as wildly as mine. Joy filled my heart knowing I wasn't the only one affected and going crazy. His nose found my neck again, and he started sniffing and licking that spot. I couldn't help the small gasps escaping my lips as I tried to move my centre against his hardness to relieve myself of this sudden need and pent-up desire of not seeing him for six months."I said stop," he growled again, but even as he said so, his teeth grazed my neck. One hand slid into my hair, gripping it tight, making my scalp tingle. The other hand gripped my hip so hard I knew there would be bruises tomorrow.I didn't care. I wanted his marks

  • My Alpha Next Door    Chapter 62: The Alpha's Forgotten Mate

Book 2: The Alpha's Forgotten Mate~∆~ Sophia's POV ~∆~The alarm goes off at 6 PM.I reach over and shut it off, then swing my legs out of bed. My vision is still blurry from the transition, it always takes about thirty minutes after sunset for everything to come into focus completely.I stumble to the bathroom and turn on the light. In the mirror, I watch my reflection sharpen from fuzzy shapes to clear details. Red hair that needs to be styled, dark circles under my eyes that makeup will have to hide, a body that's actually gotten stronger from all the pole work.Six months of this routine and I still can't believe this is my life now.I shower, do my makeup heavier than I used to, dramatic smokey eyes, dark red lips, contour that makes my cheekbones pop under the stage lights. Pull my hair into a tight high ponytail that shows off my neck and shoulders. Then I stare at my closet. Tonight's outfit is a deep red two-piece, a bra top covered in crimson crystals that catch light lik

  • My Alpha Next Door    Chapter 61: The End

~∆~ Mariah's POV ~∆~I stand at the edge of the portal in Rain's family's old territory, staring at the swirling blue light that's become so familiar to me over the past six months. This is my fourth visit to Farifilia, and each time I hope things will be different. But they never are."You ready?" Rain asks, taking my hand. He doesn't have to come with me, but he always does. That's just who he is."Yeah. Let's get this over with."We step through together, and the familiar cold rushes over my skin as we cross between worlds. When we step out on the other side, Farifilia looks exactly the same as it always does. Beautiful, cruel mystics and perfect.A guard meets us immediately. They always do."Princess Mariah," he says with a bow that makes me uncomfortable. "Prince Albert is in the healing chamber.""Is there any chance?" I ask, even though I know the answer."No, Princess. Both souls remain in stasis."My heart sinks, but I force myself to keep walking. Rain squeezes my hand.T

  • My Alpha Next Door    Chapter 60: The trial

~∆~ Rain's POV ~∆~Moonbeam's mother, who seems to be the leader of the seven nobles, smiles devilishly as if she has been waiting for this opportunity all her life.I realized from her expression that Mariah made the worst decision. "Then I will fulfill your wishes half-breed. I will make the punishment swift and fitting," she says. "Each crime will receive its proper consequence."She waves her hand, and suddenly I can't move. It's like invisible chains are holding me in place. I try to shift, try to call on my wolf, but nothing happens. We're all stuck in one place."Elena Rivera," the woman says, looking at Mariah's mom. "Your crime was corrupting royal blood and creating an abomination. Your punishment is death.""No!" Mariah screams, but the sound barely comes out through whatever spell is holding us.A beam of red light shoots from the noble's hand straight at Elena's chest. She doesn't even have time to scream. The light hits her, and she just... crumbles. "MOM!" Mariah's v

  • My Alpha Next Door    Chapter 59: Let Judgement happen.

~∆~ Mariah's POV ~∆~Military trucks crash through what's left of Kane's house. The front wall disappears in a bunch of concrete chunks. Soldiers run in with guns, and helicopters circle overhead with bright lights that hurt my eyes."Great," Kane says, looking at his destroyed living room. "Give up now or we'll shoot everyone!" a man yells through a speaker.Sophia starts crying again. "That's my dad."The nobles turn to look at the humans. Their faces turned really scary, they looked at them like ants they would like to crush without mercy."Humans," the woman hissed turning her gaze on them. "They dare interrupt our trial with their pathetic weapons? Do they think those flimsy toys can hurt us?"She lifts her hand. I can feel her power building that will kill everyone for miles away, not just the soldiers, but regular people sleeping in their beds who don't know any of this is happening. These people are truly despicable!"No!" I stepped forward as she threw her red beam lights, w
