The alarm goes off at 6 PM.

I reach over and shut it off, then swing my legs out of bed. My vision is still blurry from the transition, it always takes about thirty minutes after sunset for everything to come into focus completely.

I stumble to the bathroom and turn on the light. In the mirror, I watch my reflection sharpen from fuzzy shapes to clear details.

Red hair that needs to be styled, dark circles under my eyes that makeup will have to hide, a body that's actually gotten stronger from all the pole work.

Six months of this routine and I still can't believe this is my life now.
