How did things turn out this way? I was confident my plans would work. Yes, I had everything planned from what to do after eating and all that. Who would have thought they would throw a bombshell at me?

The serious way Mitch said those words, and how they left after that, made me know the gravity of whatever they had to discuss with me. Had they found another mate? Would they order me out of their house? That couldn't be possible, not after the way they treated me this morning. They would have said it without beating about the bush.
