I ignored it, pulling my pillow over my head. He tried again, more insistently this time.

“Go away,” I called out, my voice muffled by the pillow.

“Lily, please. I need to talk to you.”

“There’s nothing to talk about.”

“There’s everything to talk about. What I said—”

“Was the truth. So congratulations, you finally said what you really think of me.”

Silence stretched between us, broken only by the sound of my own ragged breathing.

“That’s not what I think of you,” he said finally.

“Isn’t it? Because it sounded pretty convincing.”

“I was angry. I said something stupid.”

“You said something honest. There’s a difference.”

“Lily, please. Open the window.”

“No.”

“I’m not leaving until you talk to me.”

“Then I hope you’re comfortable out there, because I’m not opening this window. I’m done, Luca. Done with the fighting, done with the drama, done with pretending we can live in the same house without wanting to kill each other.”

“You don’t mean that.”

“I mean every word. Find somewhere else t

  • My Arch Nemesis in my Bed   Chapter 215

LilyThree black vehicles showed up with pack members I vaguely recognized driving, and they loaded Samuel’s body into the back of one while Cain placed the urn containing Jonathan’s ashes in the front seat.War bounty, Cain had called it, which felt ironic but I was too exhausted to point that out.I ended up in the middle SUV with Luca, and the second the door closed behind us I felt like I could finally breathe properly for the first time in hours, even though breathing still hurt.It was all quiet in my head, and I couldn’t tell if Nyx t was because she was respecting my grief or because she was too exhausted to form words. My ankle was healed enough that I could walk on it but it still ached, the cuts covering my arms had finally stopped bleeding.Luca’s hand found mine in the space between us and I let him hold it while we sat there in silence while the driver drove through back roads that would get us to pack territory faster than the main highway. The forty-minute drive felt l

  • My Arch Nemesis in my Bed   Chapter 214

One copy moved toward where Luca was fighting Samuel, another went for the witches, and the third was placed between Jonathan and where Lily’s real body stood. The copy that reached Luca didn’t attack Samuel directly, she just threw up some kind of barrier that the next silver bomb bounced off harmlessly, and that was all the opening Luca needed. He half shifted and launched himself at Samuel before the older wolf could throw another bomb, got his jaws around Samuel’s shoulder and bit down.Samuel screamed and dropped the blade, tried to shift but Luca didn’t give him the chance. He threw him across the clearing hard enough that Samuel hit a tree and slumped down with blood pouring from his mouth.Luca stalked toward him while Samuel tried to crawl away, and then Cain was there coming from the opposite direction with wolves behind him.Samuel looked between Luca in front and Cain behind and his face went gray, and he started saying something about family and how they couldn’t do this

  • My Arch Nemesis in my Bed   Chapter 213

The violet light bleeding from Lily’s skin was bright enough that Luca had to squint to look at her directly.Samuel’s rogues weren’t having any better luck staying upright, all twenty of them suddenly on their knees with their heads bowed like they were praying, and Samuel himself was fighting it so hard that blood started dripping from his nose.Jonathan hissed and took several steps back, his burned face twisting into something even uglier, and the witches’ chanting faltered for just a second before Miriam screamed at them to keep going.Arden’s feral form was still charging straight at them and Luca was already moving to intercept because he couldn’t let that thing get to Lily, except Arden didn’t attack. He threw his head back and roared, and a new figure emerged. It was massive and golden and made entirely of light, this spirit wolf that separated from Arden’s flesh like a soul pulling free. Arden’s body collapse and go still while the spirit beast opened eyes that burned like f

They’d been walking in silence for six hours now, checking every abandoned building and dried-up creek bed they came across, and Luca’s throat was raw from calling Lily’s name into empty spaces that never answered back.Arden was maybe fifty feet ahead doing that thing where he’d stop every few minutes and tilt his head like he was listening to something, and every time he did it Luca felt his chest get tighter because what if Arden heard something that meant they were too late, what if Lily was already—Arden stopped moving.“What is it?” Luca asked.“Blood. I smell her blood.”Luca’s heart tried to climb out of his chest and he was running before his brain caught up to what his legs were doing, he crashed through the underbrush after Arden who was moving even faster. They broke through the tree line and hit the riverbank where the water was moving fast and loud and that’s when Luca saw her.Lily was sprawled across the rocks about twenty feet downstream, one arm thrown over her face

  • My Arch Nemesis in my Bed   Chapter 210

Jonathan’s expression went sour and for a second I thought he might actually confirm it, but then he just laughed .“I admired him,” he said carefully. “He was the Supreme Alpha, the strongest of his kind. We could have ruled together, vampires and Lycans united. But Yara had him so completely blind he couldn’t see past her.”The jealousy in his voice was thick enough to choke on, and I understood now that this whole revenge was less about his sister and more about Jonathan feeling like Arden had picked wrong, had chosen love over power.“So you’re going to what, replace Yara with me?” I asked. “Make me your consort and pretend that fixes hundred years of rejection?”“I’m going to take everything he loves and make it mine,” Jonathan said, leaning forward with this intensity that made me want to lean back.I looked at the roses on the table and noticed they still had thorns, I started calculating while keeping my face interested.“Ambitious,” I said, reaching for my water with my left

  • My Arch Nemesis in my Bed   Chapter 211

The video kept replaying in my head long after Jonathan left, and I kept seeing my father’s unconscious body and Samuel’s stupid smile and thinking about how spectacularly screwed we both were.I yanked on the chains again because I hadn’t learned my lesson the first twelve times, and the silver burned so deep I could feel it in my bones now.The blood dripping down my arms was getting darker, which probably wasn’t great and when I tried to heal the wounds they just kept reopening.Nyx was quiet in my head and I didn’t blame her because what was there to say that would make this better? We were chained in a dungeon with no way out and my father was somewhere else equally screwed and Luca had no idea where either of us were.Time did that thing where it stopped making sense and I couldn’t tell if I’d been sitting here for two hours or two days, and eventually I gave up trying to track it and just focused on not passing out because unconscious people don’t escape from dungeons. The door
