Chapter 3

Julia’s Point of View

In the morning

I was standing in front of Veronica Entertainment, observing the beauty that it held for me till three months ago. 

The whole building was surrounded by a garden full of roses and plants with a concrete path.

It was the place where I gave my audition and wanted to fulfill my dreams.

The place on behalf of which I thought that my being could communicate my innermost feelings with my fans through music. 

Lol… Who would have thought that I will be working here but with a different objective.

My sorry ass would not be a singer here but a singer’s assistant.

Haha…

After standing in the scorching sun for the utmost ten minutes, I decided to enter the building through the entrance gate and went close to it.

The entrance gate was entirely made of glass with two security guards standing on each corner.

“What business do you have here mam?” As I was going to enter the building, one of the bulked men asked me while stopping me with their hands.

 My eyes scanned them, tons of thoughts were already flowing in my mind. “They look scary..” I whispered to myself.

Frowning faces with bulky bodies which were wearing nothing but black, black and black were staring at me like I was a little rabbit who would be eaten by them in no time if my mouth doesn’t run fast.

“I’m here for a job sir.” Not wasting much time, I spoke with a little grace as well as fear embedded in my voice.

From their sturdy looking faces, am I to assume that me going inside won’t be that easy.

Like, I have a problem generated here also??

“Your Id.” The other guard who had a long mustache asked me with his hand stuck out to keep my Id as if I have any.

Where do I get an Id? I haven’t even taken the job yet.

“Umm Sir. I’m called here by Miss. Rucia Solon and don’t have an Id yet.” I tried to make my sentences look as believable as they could because who knows what they will do if they think I am lying.

“Are you sure?” The guard with the mustache asked me again.

I nodded my head in an innocent way, waiting for their confirmation to go inside.

“Okay we will be calling Miss Rucia Solon to confirm if she has called any person for a job. Remember if she says that she hasn’t called you then we will have to blacklist you. Many fans of our company’s idols come here with fake excuses to enter the building and disturb them so we won't go easy on you if you are telling a lie.” 

The mustache guard who was standing on the corner of the glass gate went inside the building after throwing a whole paragraph on my face regarding the company’s rules.

I waited in a timid way, scared of what will happen when he comes outside.

After a few minutes he came to me with some passes in his hand and kept them on mine.

“What are these?” I asked him while taking the passes.

“Some kind of invitation I think.” I flipped the passes but only one thing was written on it.

Some numbers. Are these some code passes? Like those in the detective movies?

“These are guest passes. We have confirmed that Miss. Rucia Solon called a girl named Julia Hills in her office. You can go inside now. And remember to ask for your work Id from Mam or else next time we won't let you enter the building.” The guard warned me and opened the glass gates.

Oh Whatever…

Just go inside Julia.

I went inside the building only to be awestruck by its beauty and professionality.

My mouth was wide open because of the unimaginable things I was seeing. The whole building was painted in white screaming aesthetics and cleanliness.

The floor which I was currently on, ground floor, had employees working on exquisite benches, some cabins as well as air purifying plants.

Where do their idols work?

I walked around to look for the receptionist who would tell me about where Miss. Solon was.

Not very soon, I found one receptionist in the right corner of the ground floor, who was busy on her phone.

I went to her with small steps in order to not disturb her. Till the time I went close to her, my ears could hear her screaming on her phone like a maniac.

“So what should I do? That foreign star doesn’t know his limits and is always pissing everyone.”

“Am I supposed to babysit his arrogant self? What does he even think of himself as?”

What is Miss. Receptionist talking about? I don’t know why, but the urge in me to hear her increased.

I completely forgot that it is rude…

“He was just born with a silver spoon in his mouth with both looks and richness. Only if I would have gotten the chance to hit him.”

Who is born with a silver spoon and richness?

“Yes, if I see anyone here who asks for you, I will send that person to your cabin.”

As soon as the receptionist cut the call and turned to go back, she got shocked after seeing me really close to her.

“Oh God. Where did you appear from? You almost scared me to death.” She asked while huffing.

I felt guilty for invading her privacy and bowed in front of her.

“Sorry for invading your privacy mam. I’m Julia. Miss Rucia Solon called me here for a star assistant job. Could you tell me where she is?” I asked her.

“Umm, you are the person Rucia called?” She confirmed from me in confusion while looking at me from head to toe.

What’s wrong with me? Why is she giving me that creepy look?

“Is she sure that a small girl like you will be able to handle that arrogant ass?” She said in a low tone but it was loud enough to be hearable to me.

What arrogant ass?

What is she saying? Ugh, I looked at her with a tilted head…

“Umm excuse me. Did you say something?” I asked.

 “Sorry for ignoring you. Miss Rucia Solon’s cabin is on the corner right of the second floor. You can take the elevator to go there.” The blanked out receptionist came out from her thoughts and told me the direction to Rucia’s cabin.

I gave her nervous smile and turned to leave.

“I hope this one stays here for more than one months.”

As I started moving in the opposite direction I again heard her say something. What’s with the people here? Why are they always talking in code words?

Oh I’m tired already.

I quickly took the elevator and went to the second floor as the receptionist guided me.

Walking to the right corner of the floor, I found a cabin with the name plate, Rucia solon on the gate.

“Hello Mam. I’m here for the star assistant Job. Can I come inside?”Knocking the gate I waited for the command to come from inside.

“Yes, sure.” 

My feet went into the cabin as soon as I heard a lady speaking.

I went to the table as Miss Solon averted her eyes from the files on the table to me.

“Greetings Miss Solon. I’m Julia Hills.” I bowed in front of her to greet her in a formal way.

She was looking hostile already.

“Yes. Yes. Julia, I know you. Have a seat.” Turning her words into a friendlier tone, Miss Solon insisted me to sit. I did as she said.

After adjusting my bags properly I looked at her in hope of talking regarding the job.

“So Miss. Hills. Could you give a small introduction about yourself before we proceed to signing the contract?” She started the interview process with a  smile on her face which was making me really relaxed.

“Yes Sure.” I smiled nervously and took a long breath before explaining myself.

Looking in her eyes I started speaking.

“Hello Miss Solon. I’m Julia hills. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to introduce myself as well as work here. I’m 21 years old and have been studying Mass Communication for the last three months. Originally my dream was to become a singer but I left it as my interest grew in mass communication. For the past three months I've been taking intense training and want to be good at it by getting work experience. I hope you could give me a chance to prove myself at work. ”

I blurted a whole paragraph I had learnt online on you too videos. There is no way my heart could have told her the truth that I failed in the singing career so why not make an excuse.

After my last sentence, I waited for Miss Solon to reply. She had this impressed look on her face which was really giving me high hopes that I would get this job.

“Julia. Your introduction was great. And I’m ready to give you this Job but our company has a condition.” Miss Solon’s voice turned from a friendly to serious tone.

“What condition?” I asked her timidly.

Is she going to ask for my organs?

“You cannot leave our company before a year.” She said with a grave tone, giving me goosebumps.

I was relieved after hearing her sentence.

She was speaking in a grave tone for just this small thing? I would not even want to change my job after one year.

What's there to leave the job… I don’t know.

“No problem mam. I am ready to accept the job offer.” I gave a smile to Miss Solon who was looking at me seriously.

“Very well then. This is our contract which states everything like your income and work. You just need to sign it and we will proceed to the next step.” She said while handing me a file containing some pages.

I opened it and went directly to the income page. Who cares about the other information?

As Miss Solon resumed looking at her files I slowly read the income page.

So my wage would be 1000 dollars per month for the first six month?

Not bad. And then after a promotion I will be given 1500 dollars for the next six month.

Wow, the salary is good.

The term Miss Solon told me is also good, so why don’t I sign the contract?

It’s not like I have anything to lose. On the other hand I could provide my mother a good life.

After reading the details of the income page, I quickly took a pen from my pocket and put my signature on every page of the contract and gave it to Miss Solon while making sure that the file was in good condition and waited for her next step.

“Very well, Dear. Now you are a part of our Veronica family. The next step of the contract is to meet the idol whose assistant you will become. Let’s go” Miss Solon examined the files and got up from her seat on a whim and said with an unending smile on her face.

“Yes sure mam.” I grinned and got up, following Miss Solon and going outside the cabin.

“Do you know Julia. You will be the assistant of one of our top stars. Well because he is a foreigner, you wouldn’t know him but he has a massive fan following.”

As we were going through some hallways, Miss Solon told me.

Top foreign star? It must be great to have that title.

Really nice…

“Well you can start working from today after meeting him okay. Though he is a little tough to deal with, I am sure you would be able to handle him” I nodded to Miss Solon’s words while thinking about the word Tough to handle?

I didn’t think much of it and focused on what’s ahead of me. After minutes of walking, we stopped in front of a humongous gate.

“Welcome to the world of Music, Julia.” Miss Solon said while opening the gate and taking me inside.

I observed the magnified place as every person’s attention turned towards me.

As my eyes were moving to look at everyone, they stopped on one person.

My jaw dropped on seeing him.

“This is Blake Anderson. Julia. The idol you will be working with.” 

I looked at the boy in front of me with complete shock.

Blake?
