Just Be Present.

Rowan Nightshade.

I took measured steps towards Dr. Colton's office early the next morning. My hands were tucked into my pocket due to the chilly air, it made me wonder if the heaters were broken.

As soon as I got to his office, I realized that he was with a patient. I could have been my normal self by barging into his office without a care in the world, but I held myself back. Leaning into the wall, my mind wandered on the events of this month. Everything had been happening so fast that I thought my head would spin out of its axis.

"Rowan Nightshade?" A cheery voice reached my ears, and I couldn't help but wrinkle my nose as the body odour that emanated from the person who came towards me.

I opened one eye to see who it was. A frustrated breath escaped my lips when my eyes met with a face I couldn't recognise. I didn't bother smiling. I didn't do nice. The woman was elegantly dressed in a shimmering outfit that almost blinded me.
