Chapter 41

I inhaled deeply. It's been three days since that awful confrontation with Elliot in his office. I'm not sure how I did it, but I did. And I feel very proud of myself for being able to stick to my convictions no matter how wrecked I was on the inside. After everything that has unfolded, I needed to re-establish myself. I needed to let him go completely out of my life.

My heart began to race when I heard a knock on my apartment door. Since three days ago, Elliot and I haven't seen or spoken to each other. He also stopped passing by my house on a daily basis, and I was relieved that he had pretty much given me my privacy back. I won't be feeling guilty as well for not talking to him. But who could possibly be paying me a visit right now? Am I right to assume that it is him?
