6 - How Dare You Touch Her?

Alexander's POV

I only decided to come back to her office to see if she was doing her job well. Because of her, I've been unable to concentrate on my work lately. Why did I have to bump into her again after all this time?

Worse of all, I had to meet her in the arms of another man. She was trying to climb the social ladder again. Did she become so shameless that she has no taste in men anymore?

For the past few years, I had been unable to forget her. How did I get married to a woman like her? All she could think about was material things and nothing more. I can't believe I let myself be fooled by her.

I thought I would get rid of her and never see her again, but she had to appear in front of me, which is why I can't let her live in peace. After knowing the kind of person she is, I'm not going to let her use another person as a victim.

"Don't you think we shouldn't bother her since she's already doing the work you assigned to her?" my personal assistant Harry asked me.

I turned to him with a deadly expression, "I don't know if I should send you to another country or not since you already hate this job."

He immediately shook his head, "No, sir! I think you going to check on her is a good thing."

I ignored him and took the elevator to the department where she worked. Why was I looking forward to seeing her face again? Every time I see her, I just can't stop the anger rising up inside me.

She only got separated from me a few years ago. How could she already be looking for other men to seduce? I can't believe she's actually that bold to do that in front of me. I can't let this go at all. She needs to stop.

'Does she need to stop or are you just using that as an excuse to stop her from meeting other men?' my subconscious mind told me, but I ignored it.

As I was getting closer to the department, I started hearing noises coming from the department. What the hell was going on in there? I could hear a female voice, particularly Crystal's voice, shouting for help in the department.

I rushed there to see what was going on, and I couldn't believe my eyes. The same supervisor was holding her in his hands again while some of his clothes were off.

Anger clouded my judgment. The only thing I could see was that she was in the arms of the same man again, someone who wasn't even her age and someone not even as attractive as she was.

"What do you think you're doing right now?" I asked, unable to control myself.

I clenched my fists angrily as the supervisor slowly let go of her while moving away from her. She was also shocked to see me, but she was acting like the victim again.

"Mr. Hunter... I didn't know you were coming back to the office... I would have—"

I scoffed, cutting him off. "If you knew I was coming to the office, would you have shifted this to another day? How would you explain what I just saw?"

"We were not doing anything... I was just trying to leave, but she kept trying to seduce me... She was forcing me and I was asking her to stop when you came in," he quickly explained, dumping all the blame on her again.

"What? Why would I seduce someone like you? You were clearly trying to assault me! You kept harassing me! You just tried to force me into sleeping with you!" Crystal shouted back at him.

"What? Mr. Hunter, are you going to believe this little liar? Everyone knows how evil she is in the office. She's trying to seduce all the men in this company. Do you think I will do something like that? I am already married!" the supervisor shouted back at her.

I had enough of their stupid arguments that I made them stop.

"Shut up!" I snapped at both of them and they stopped arguing. I signaled my assistant to come over; there's only one way to find out the truth.

"Harry, there is a surveillance camera in this department, right?" I asked him.

Harry nodded, "Yes, sir, there's not just one but several around every corner of the office."

The supervisor quickly stepped forward while smiling like a goat.

"I think you don't understand, sir, but those cameras have stopped working a long time ago. There's no way to understand what happened unless you listen to me," he quickly defended.

"But I'm saying the truth! Why won't anyone believe me? I'm the victim here!" Crystal complained.

"It's true that the surveillance cameras were not working before, but I had them changed this morning, so they are already working," I said, and the supervisor's face dropped.

"Not just that, sir... We also have access to the surveillance footage of this department since we directly fixed the surveillance cameras," Harry added.

I could see the look of relief on Crystal's face. Why was she relieved that we had surveillance cameras when it would only show what they did?

I moved closer to her, trying to keep my anger in check. I didn't want to act according to how angry I was. The fact that she refused to listen to me and still had the guts to be with another man, even after I gave her a punishment, only made my blood boil.

"How dare you seduce another man when I asked you to work on something? Are you really that shameless?" I asked her angrily.

She shook her head bitterly, "I get that you hate me a lot, but are you really that stupid with judgment?"

"Are you insulting me right now?"

"I'm telling you to stop using your personal feelings to judge something. Do I look like someone that would stoop so low to seduce someone like him? Even if you think so, why don't you just look at the surveillance first?" she demanded from me.

I looked at Harry and he was done checking the footage. He was bringing the tablet close to me when the supervisor cut in.

"Sir... I don't think you need to look at the surveillance camera. Between the both of us, I am the one with the better position here. Don't you think I'm the one you should believe?"

My eyes filled with rage. One look I gave him made him move out of my way.

"This is the footage, sir," Harry said, giving me the tablet. "It seems like Miss Crystal was telling the truth. It also seems like this is not the first time he's doing something like this."

I watched the footage myself and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. She was actually asking him to leave her alone and begging for help. Then the voice I had heard calling for help earlier was hers?

The supervisor went on his knees as I turned my attention to him, "What on earth am I looking at? You've been harassing your workers?"

"No! It's not true... The thing is... I only wanted to do that because you were mad at her. I wanted to revenge for you—"

"Since when did we become close that you started doing things for me? Did I ask you to do anything like that?" I snarled at him.

I was expecting to see something else, but he just opened my eyes to the reality. Do all men do this today, harass a woman and blame her for seducing them afterwards? I felt so embarrassed that I couldn't look at Crystal for a few seconds.

"See? I was telling you the truth the whole time, but no one believed me. This man was trying to assault me. Imagine what would have happened if no one came this evening?"

She moved closer to me, "I don't care what you think about me or what you're going to do to him, but I have to go home now. I'm tired of working on your files all day. You can fire me tomorrow if you want."

I couldn't say anything to her as I watched her take her bag and walk out of the office angrily.

"How dare you touch what's mine?" I gritted my teeth, trying to hold myself back from hitting him.

"I... I didn't know she was yours... I wouldn't have tried it if I did... Please forgive me, Mr. Hunter!" he begged me and I only had one vision in mind, beating the hell out of him.

Harry did it for me instead, then he pushed the supervisor back to his knees. I moved closer to his bruised face while he trembled in fear.

"You shouldn't bite more than you can chew. You just messed with the wrong person and you know it."

"What should we do with him, sir?" Harry asked me.

"Kick him out of the company and make sure no one hires him in this city. Then send him to the police for charges on harassment and attempted rape," I told him and walked out of the department.

I wanted to stop Crystal from leaving so I could talk to her, but when I got outside, it was already late because she got into a taxi faster. I can't believe this is happening to me right now. Why am I even chasing her if I hate her so much?

Was I wrong about her the entire time? Could it be that she isn't someone materialistic or did she just get lucky this time around?
