“I feel like I owe you because you didn’t tell her it was me who told you about the fake affair, so the least I can do is tell you about the pregnancy,” Sabine said, her voice barely above a whisper.

I blinked in disbelief. “What? Tessa is pregnant?” I asked.

She nodded. “Yes. But I don’t think she’s aware that we know. Maybe that’s the reason why she decided to go to her best friend’s house instead.”

“Wow,” I muttered under my breath.

It was a bittersweet feeling, knowing that I was going to be a father again. I was happy but at the same time, I was sad because Tessa kept something like that from me.

“Are you sure?” I asked Sabine, my expression serious. I didn’t want it to be a case where she was playing mind games with me.

“You can call the hospital to confirm if you think I’m lying.” She said, folding her arms across her chest as she leaned against the doorframe.

I let out a deep sigh. “Okay, I’ll call them.”
