Chapter 34: Meeting Mom

I opened the door and there he stood. His black Maserati parked up on the street and him standing right in front of me. “Why haven't you answered my calls or texts? Who is here?” Damon said, looking very annoyed, glancing at P's car.

A gasp left me and I pushed him, trying to close the door behind me. His face changed into confusion and he didn't move a single inch. “My mom is here. You have to go!” I whispered to him, still trying to push him but it was literally like trying to move an enormous rock. His face changed into surprise and I heard my mom's voice behind me.

“Who's there, Tris? You expecting company?” Mom shouted, coming our way.

I quickly stepped back and mom swung the door open, surprise lightening her features. “Who do we have here?” Mom said with an easy smile, looking at Damon for answers. Damon looked at my mom like he really didn't expect her to be here. He shook it off and held out his hand.
