Roman's POV
“What a dick.” I thought as I watched him leave and turned to Adam.
“Is he always like this?” I wanted to ask but he beat me to it.
“Believe me, he's usually not like this,”
I narrowed my eyes. For some reason, I found that hard to believe but then again what did I know? I had only just met the man and I had no doubt he was exactly what the media portrayed.
“He’s just rattled from the accident and the medication is probably still stuck in my system.”
All I could hear was excuses but it wasn’t my problem. “Am I fired or am I staying?”
Adam kept quiet and just observed me then he smiled. “Come with me,”
I walked by his side replaying Callum’s muscular build in my mind. He was good looking and very handsome and only a fool would say otherwise however with a character like that, it was such a waste.
“This is nice,” I whispered my thoughts out loud unable to remain silent about how magnificent the place was.
For such a grouch, he had such impeccable taste indeed.
“Why is he still here?” came his irritating voice and Adam and I looked up to find him walking down the stairs with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.
I licked my lips subconsciously and forced my body to behave even though I wanted to find out where the trail of water ended.
“You should take a picture, it lasts longer,” his voice rang out, pulling me out of my thoughts and I frowned, wanting to slap some manners into him.
“If only your character weren’t so lousy,” I whispered and Adam chuckled beside me.
“What did you say?” he asked and I shrugged.
“I don’t like you and I don’t want you around me,” he continued and I snorted.
“Unfrotunately you can’t fire me and how much that must bug you,” I teased realizing how I enjoyed getting him riled up.
“You…” he started to say making his way down the stairs but Adam stepped in.
“Look, your ex has surfaced from the shadows and is causing quite a stir online,”
His ex? What kind of men had he been interested in?
None of your business Roman, I scolded myself and tried to tune them out.
“Couldn't we discuss this personally?” He asked eyeing me wearily and I shrugged.
“Pretend I'm not here,”
Callum’s POV
The fact that Roman didn't give a damn about what I thought was infuriating.
It was the opposite with other people because they tended to suck up to me which had grown quite exhausting.
Ordinarily, I should make me happy when people seemed not to give a damn about me, which almost never happened.
It should have felt like a breath of fresh air but it did not.
Instead, it felt like I had been punched in the gut.
The witty comeback I had prepared to dish out got stuck in my throat at the news of Vincent’s reappearance.
It wasn’t much of a surprise to me since he had been blowing my phone up nonstop in the last few weeks.
I had ignored each time hoping he’d go away but alas there was no getting rid of him.
He was like a persky fly that refused to go away.
I rubbed my temples as I felt a headache coming. “What does he want now?”
Adam shot me a questioning look before he looked down at his phone. “Apparently he stopped by the office demanding to see you and when he was denied access, he claimed to be your fiancee,”
I snorted at that idea. As if I’d have anything to do with his slimy cheating self ever again. “He will vanish just like the rest of the others before him.
“Are you sure you don’t want the PR team to handle him?” he asked and I shook my head.
Vincent wasn’t that important. Why did I have to waste my resources on him?
Adam shook his head in disagreement and tried to plead a case. “Think about this carefully, Callum. You just had another accident and with your ex hovering, it’s bad for business and could get the board rattled.”
I opened my mouth to protest and then shut it again, realizing that he had a point.
Adam smiled. “I'll call Vanessa to get on it immediately.”
“Why don't you just speak to the media and make it clear that you and your ex are done?” Roman chimed in, reminding us of his presence in the room once more.
I turned and glared at the man. “Why are you still here? And why would you think we'd want or need your opinion?”
He gritted his teeth and my heart soared excited to see I had gotten under his skin.
“He has a point Callum, let him finish,” Adam motioned for him to continue while I stared daggers at both of them.
Roman hesitated before saying, “Your ex seems to like the spotlight so why not take advantage of it? Announce that you do have a fiancé but certainly not Vincent as he has led them to believe.”
“And what would this achieve?”
Roman smiled and itched to wipe it off his face. “It’s simple really. You get to finally reveal your sexuality to the public, get rid of Vincent for good and even get the media curious about your fiancé,”
I frowned as I thought about it. Even though I hated to admit it, he did have a point?
Adam clapped his hands, the sharp sound pulling me out of my thoughts. “That's brilliant!”
“It is a workable plan however there is one tiny problem with it.”
At their confused expressions, I grinned as I explained, “I don't have a fiancé and the media will catch on in a couple of months when we don't make appearances together.”
The room fell silent and I stared at Roman. “What? You can't go quiet now. Where's all that wisdom you were sharing a few minutes ago?”
He snorted and angled his head. “I can be your fiancé,”
Callum's POV“Just tell him Vincent is here to see him, he'll see him.” I frowned as I stopped halfway to the door of my office building and saw Vincent, my ex struggling with the security guards. What was he even doing here? And couldn't he have taken a hint from the video of my engagement? He spotted me and his eyes lot up. “Get away from me you useless lot. Hey babe, I've been waiting for you,” When he reached out his hand to hug me, I stepped back. “What are you doing here Vincent?” He shrugged. “I saw the proposal video you posted recently but I knew your account had been hacked because there was no way you were leaving me. Right?” I pinched the bridge of my nose and took a deep breath to calm my nerves. . The last person I wanted to deal with was Vincent. I looked to my right to ask Roman to kick him out but he wasn't there. I frowned as I realized I hadn't seen or heard from him since he stormed off two days ago. I could see clearly why Adam hired him because if he had
Roman's POV ‘Where did that come from?’ I wondered as I avoided his gaze and stared at Adam. Seeing the amused look on Adam's face, I scowled and finally met Callum's shocked gaze. “That was a joke right?” He asked although he didn't look as opposed to the idea as I thought he'd be. I snickered. “Let me guess, you don't mind the idea,” He snorted and looked away. “I don't. How could you even think of such a horrible idea?” “Well it was a joke and clearly you can't take one.” I rolled my eyes. Had that really been a joke? I asked myself as I tried to avoid staring at the two men in front of me. Silence ensued between us and each of us were lost in our thoughts until….“What if it's not such a horrible idea?” Adam mused and I whipped my head in surprise. “What are you even saying?” Callum asked, his voice slightly raised and panicky. “Yeah,” I chimed in. “I said it was a joke,” Adam nodded. “Maybe so but it could work.” He started to explain. “Callum has never been seen in pu

Callum’s POV“I don't need a babysitter,” I pouted, glaring at my business partner, Adam who also doubled as my best friend. He chuckled and shrugged. “I said bodyguard Callum not a babysitter,” “It's the same thing,” I whispered, thoroughly annoyed. He narrowed his eyes and his expression grew serious. “This isn't up for debate Callum. I already spoke to a few of my contacts and you'd be getting a bodyguard soon.”“But…” I started to protest but he cut me off. “This is the third accident, Callum.” he sighed. "The third one in the last two weeks. It's not ordinary,” I leaned back against the pillow as memories of the last two accidents flashed in my mind. Initially I had blamed my driver's recklessness and fired him because he had crashed into the other car after taking his eyes off the road. Then the second one happened and Adam blamed me for firing another driver. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice… I thought I had been setting the bar for others to follow. Joe had b
