A Few Hours Later

Victor Sinclair

“Eat,” I said, sitting on the edge of the bed with the tray balanced on my lap. The steam from the tomato soup rose between us as I dipped the spoon and held it out to her. “Come on, Clara. Don’t be difficult. I had it made exactly how you like it.”

She turned her face away, chains rattling as she tried to put as much distance between us as possible. Her eyes burned with pure hatred. “I’m not eating anything you give me. Get that away from me.”

Clara Bennett“Ryder!” I screamed as I saw him stagger from another gunshot. Blood was soaking through his shirt, but he kept fighting, claws out, tearing through Victor’s men like they were nothing. I couldn’t just stand there. I had to help him.I grabbed a loose metal pipe from the floor and swung it as hard as I could at the nearest guard who was aiming at Ryder’s back. The pipe connected with a sickening crack, and the man went down. My arms shook from the impact, but I didn’t stop. “Get away from him!”Ryder turned his head toward me for a split second, his eyes wide with fear. “Clara, no! Get back!”But it was too late. Another guard grabbed me from behind, his arms wrapping around my waist like a vice. I screamed and kicked, swinging the pipe wildly, but he ripped it from my hands and slammed me against the wall. The impact knocked the air out of my lungs.“Ryder!” I cried out, reaching for him as the guard dragged me away.Ryder roared, a sound that was half-human, half-beast

Ryder West “Stay low and stay quiet,” I whispered to the small team behind me as we moved through the shadows outside the facility. My arm was still throbbing from the gunshot wound I had taken earlier, but I ignored the pain. Clara was in there. That was all that mattered. I had spent the last few hours tracking every lead I could find, calling in every favor, and now we were finally here. The building looked abandoned from the outside, but I knew better. Victor’s kind loved hiding their dirty work in plain sight. I signaled to my men and we slipped through a side entrance I had found on old blueprints. The wolf inside me was wide awake, senses sharp, ready to tear through anyone who stood between me and her. We moved silently down a long corridor, guns ready. My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. Every second without her felt like torture. I kept seeing her face in my mind ... the way she had looked at me when she confessed, the fear in her eyes when she ran.

  • My Boss Is A Werewolf    Chapter 46

Clara BennettMy head felt like it was full of cotton when I finally woke up. The room was different ...Colder, darker, with metal walls and a single bright light hanging from the ceiling. My wrists were still chained, but this time to a metal chair bolted to the floor. I tried to move, but the restraints bit into my skin, sending sharp pain up my arms. I groaned softly, blinking against the harsh light as I tried to remember what had happened. The warehouse. The ambush. Ryder fighting. Then darkness.“Ryder…” I whispered, my voice hoarse. Tears stung my eyes immediately. Was he okay? Had they hurt him? The thought of him lying somewhere, bleeding because of me, made my chest tighten so much I could barely breathe.I pulled against the chains again, the metal rattling loudly in the quiet room. “Let me go!” I shouted, my voice cracking. “Victor! Let me out of here!”No answer. Just the echo of my own voice bouncing off the walls.I sat there for what felt like hours, my mind racing wi

Clara Bennett“Victor, please,” I said, my voice hoarse from days of barely speaking. “Just tell me what you want from me. I’ll do it. Just stop this.”I was still chained to the bed, my wrists raw and bruised from constantly pulling against the metal. The new guard, Lena, had left me alone for a few hours, but the silence was almost worse than her slaps. My stomach ached from hunger, and my cheek still stung from the last time she had hit me.Victor stood in the doorway, watching me with that cold, calculating look he always had. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him, walking over to the bed slowly.“You’re finally starting to understand,” he said, sitting on the edge of the mattress. “Good. I want Ryder. I want him broken and delivered to my lab. You’re going to help me get him. Call him. Tell him you escaped and need him to come get you. Give him a location. I’ll handle the rest.”I shook my head, tears filling my eyes again. “I can’t. He’ll know something is wrong. He’s

  • My Boss Is A Werewolf    Chapter 44

Clara Bennett “Eat your damn food,” the new female guard snapped, shoving the metal tray across the floor toward me. Her name was Lena, and she had a permanent scowl etched on her face. She was tall, muscular, with short-cropped blonde hair and cold eyes that looked like they enjoyed this kind of work. I sat chained to the bed, wrists raw from the metal cuffs, and stared at the tray. A stale piece of bread and some lukewarm porridge that looked like it had been sitting out for hours. My stomach growled painfully, but I turned my head away. “I’m not hungry,” I muttered, even though I was starving. Two days of this. Two days of being slapped for talking back, starved when I refused to cooperate, and treated like an animal. Lena laughed coldly and stepped closer. “You think you’re too good for this? Princess still waiting for her big bad wolf to save her?” She grabbed my chin hard, forcing me to look at her. “News flash, sweetheart. No one’s coming. Victor owns you now.” Before I co

Francis Williams “Sir, we have new information on Ryder West,” my assistant said as she stepped into the room, tablet in hand. Her voice was steady, but I could hear the slight hesitation in it. I turned from the window, setting my glass down on the side table. “Go on.” She cleared her throat and continued. “It appears he no longer has a pack. Our sources confirm the entire group has… vanished. Like they never existed. No meetings, no safe houses, no communication trails. It’s just him now, living among humans. He’s completely alone.” I raised an eyebrow, a slow smile spreading across my face. “Alone? How delightful. The mighty alpha reduced to a lone wolf playing human in his shiny tower. How the mighty have fallen.” Elena nodded and swiped across the tablet before handing it to me. “There’s more. The girl he’s involved with ... Clara Bennett ...she’s currently missing. Our men confirm she was taken from his apartment earlier today. We believe someone close to her is holding her

Clara Bennett“Clara!” Ryder’s voice cut through the quiet night like a lifeline I didn’t deserve.I looked up from the park bench, my vision blurry with tears. He was jogging toward me, his black t-shirt clinging to his chest, hair messy from the wind. Even in the middle of my breakdown, he looked

  • My Boss Is A Werewolf    Chapter 28

Clara BennettI sat there on the edge of the bed, still holding Ryder’s hand, my mind spinning in a thousand directions. The confession about him being an alpha werewolf should have sent me screaming out the door, but instead I felt this strange mix of fear and connection. He looked so raw sitting

Clara BennettMy eyes fluttered open slowly, the soft glow of a bedside lamp blurring everything at first. My head felt heavy, like I had been hit by a truck. Clara Bennett“I don’t want this night to end yet,” Ryder said quietly as the car pulled away from the gala. His arm was still around my shoulders, holding me close in the back seat. The city lights flashed across his face, highlighting the sharp line of his jaw and the way his eyes kept flicking t
