Everything happened so fast.

The sound of the bell woke me from sleep, I felt our bed move when Nick came down. I didn't know what time it was so I closed my eyes again, but the ensuing silence made me open them again and look at the digital clock beside my bed showing 2 p.m.

The next second the sound of something breaking was heard from outside followed by Nick's voice shouting angrily. My heart seemed to jump in my chest cavity when the sound of glass being broken sounded again, in the middle of the darkness I got out of bed and put on my nightrobe.
