Chapter 3

"G-g-good morning, ma'am." Even though I was still confused about what was happening, I tried to gather my thoughts to greet them properly and avoid being perceived as rude.

But it's really hard to get over the fact that the guy who saw my boobs at the waterfall was the Señorito! And then, suddenly, the whole surroundings became dark.

And there it was, I nodded because while I was alone in the house earlier, I had a moment to think. The gathering at the Saavedra's was for the arrival of the Señorito, and the guy at the waterfall earlier looked like a stranger! What if he was one of the Señorito's guests?

What if they told the Señorito about what happened at the waterfall? It wouldn't just be embarrassing for me, but also for Mom and Dad. And what if the news spreads and becomes gossip? I didn't want to be the talk of the workers on the hacienda!

"You're such a killjoy!" Clara immediately confronted me as soon as she saw me sitting in Julia's stable, watching the mother and daughter horses playfully interact.

"Hi! I'm okay, thanks for asking, Clara," I sarcastically replied to her and smiled, but she rolled her eyes at me.

She sat next to me and momentarily paid attention to Julia and her daughter.

"And you'd rather be with your horses than see the Señorito!" You're always such a killjoy, Clara! Instead of getting angry, I just laughed at her, but she quickly stopped hitting me.

"Ouch! Your hand is so heavy, as always!" I held onto my arm where she hit me.

"Do you know that the Señorito was introduced the other night? And why weren't you there the next day?" If you only knew what happened yesterday, Clara! You probably would've preferred to stay at home!

"Wow, the Señorito is so handsome! He's on the same level of hotness as Chris Evans! If it weren't a formal party, I would've done what I do at school! I would've screamed 'you're so handsome, Señorito' until I lost my voice!"

"Do you know he's staying here at the hacienda for the whole summer? Before he takes over the company as the CEO."

"Wow..." I replied in awe to Clara. It's amazing to hear her stories because I've only seen those things on TV dramas, and now I realize they actually happen in real life. It's truly impressive, but of course, it's not like those stories where a rich guy meets a poor girl and they end up together.

We continued our conversation for a while until Marco arrived.

"Señora is calling for you."

"Me?" I even pointed at myself. He nodded while looking at me.

"She has a request for you, and she's waiting in the pavilion." I don't know why, but I suddenly felt nervous and excited at the same time.

"W-why?"

"I don't know, she just asked for you."

"Who's there?"

"Only Señora. Why do you look so nervous?"

"N-no reason." I invited him to go to the pavilion. While we were riding the horse, I couldn't help but think about what happened at the waterfall.

Did they find out about it? What explanation should I give? What if it reaches Mom and Dad? And what if they forbid me and Marco from going to the waterfall because they think we're up to something there? I didn't even notice that Marco and I had already arrived at the pavilion.

"You really look so nervous!" Marco embraced me as we entered the pavilion.

"Relax, Señora is nice." I glanced at him, and we maintained eye contact for a few minutes. If I hadn't heard someone clearing their throat, I wouldn't have broken eye contact with Marco.

Both Marco and I looked at the person who cleared their throat, and at that moment, I wished the ground would swallow me whole to avoid seeing who was standing in front of us. The anxiety rose in my chest, and all I wanted to do was run away from the pavilion if Marco wasn't holding onto me!

Just like the last time I saw him, there was no reaction on his face, and he just looked straight into my eyes. I tried to maintain eye contact, but he was so unnerving to look at, so I averted my gaze.

And then Marco spoke...

"Señorito," he said seriously, and he nodded at the guy in front of us. Before I could react, the Señora arrived.

"Kenzo, son, I'm glad you're here!" She immediately greeted the guy whom Marco called Señorito.

"Señyora, Selena is with me now." Lena is my nickname, and almost everyone I know calls me that. I'm only called Selena when someone has just met me.

I don't know why, but when our eyes met, I felt something different, although I couldn't explain it.
