Twenty Four

No one made a sound other than Big Man's shocked voice.

The man in front of me said nothing as he turned his face forward again. I saw blood on the corner of his lips. For a few seconds, I didn't know that what I just did could hurt him. But then I ignored it as I remembered what he did to me.

I took a deep breath as I heard Big Man speak, "What the hell are you doing, Amanda?"

Of course he sounded angry. I just hit the money and life-giving source of his employees. Deep in my heart, I know that what I did was fatal. Rhysand could have instantly done worse to this company and made everyone suffer. But, I always rely on my momentary emotions, which is really bad. Now I regret it. It felt like the pulse in my head was getting stronger and more painful.

"Leave us." Rhysand's voice rang in my ears.

Big Man left me alone with the devil alone in his office. I took a step back from where I was standing—in front of him. I gasped for air as I stared at the redness on his jaw.
