CHAPTER EIGHTY-TWO

*

*

The feast and hunt is an anticipated dedicated ancestral festival of the Dahome clan that is hosted once in a solar cycle.

The air is laced with excitement and smoke of wood burning; even though the weather is cool, several large bonfires provide warmth.

The full moon hangs low, casting a glow over the proceedings, and loud laughter echoes throughout the tribe's landmark.

Although Kai had mentioned this event to Rene earlier, it's certainly not what Rene had thought it would be.

Rene's eyes scan the crowd, watching the interaction between all the males and females of the tribe gathered around; his widened gaze reflects equal amounts of fascination and curiosity.

The Alpha males who sit around their respective bonfires are enjoying the meal of wild boar and baked bread, their arms are wrapped casually around their mates who are warming their laps.

Rene soon gets to realize that this hunt isn't about animals at all, neither is it related to food. The air is heav

My Kyle is amazing. I laughed do hard he is a heavy drinker, and with no filter :D and so cute when he is jealous and all scolding his Alpha . And honestly, can Rene be more sweet and innocent. The chapter was refreshing and, in some parts, hilarious.

Tyr wakes with a start, his eyes flying open. For a moment, he’s completely disoriented. Where is he? Why is everything dark? The memories come flooding back in a rush. The festival. He had been waiting for Ivor. How did he fall asleep? He gazes outside the open window, the moonlight is still visible and cast rays into the cottage. Is the hunt already over? Tyr scrambles to his feet, his heart starting to pound with growing panic. Ivor is nowhere to be found, the cottage is exactly as it was when he fell asleep. Which means Rene never brought Ivor here, he’d never intended to. They lied to him! Tyr’s lips tightens at this betrayal and then his eyes start to sting. The festival must be over by now, everyone paired off and claimed and— Ivor must have found someone else. The tears spring in his eyes as images flood his mind unbidden. Those females who have been gossiping about Ivor in the kitchen, and how they wanted him. What if Ivor, unable to find him, decided to claim

  • My Brute Alpha (The Alpha and His Omega #1)   EPILOGUE I

The evening air is filled with excitement and anticipation. Rene already feels anxious about what is to come. For the past few days, he can already feel the energy radiating from unmated Alphas as they brag to each other about the mates they intend to claim. Tonight is the annual mating hunt where unmated clan members are permitted to go all out in search of a mate. Rene recalls the last mating hunt, it had been horrid. He’d found it barbaric. Why did the people enjoy such a brutal, bloody ritual? He sets down the bowl of mating paint with an exaggerated sigh. Not only does he hate the ritual, but as the Chief’s mate, he’s obligated to prepare for it too? It’s too unfair. “I don’t want to do this,” he mutters, glaring at the clay bowls arranged on the low table in his and Lyrien’s hut. “I can’t believe this is really going to happen again.” From the corner, his twins—Saiel and Naiel—giggle happily in their large playing area in the spacious cottage, playing with their cousi

  • My Brute Alpha (The Alpha and His Omega #1)   SORAL AND VIDARR

SPECIAL CHAPTER Vidarr keeps his word. He doesn’t let Soral’s feet touch the ground. When Soral needs water, Vidarr carries him. When nature calls, Vidarr goes with him. When Soral wants to tend the beautiful garden of mountain dahlias that he and Rene had planted, Vidarr holds him while doing the work. “I feel like a bird at this point,” Soral says, kicking his feet helplessly as Vidarr doesn't allow his feet to touch ground. “A breeding omega of mine doesn’t touch the ground without my say,” Vidarr replies, simply amused by his futile struggles. Later, through their window Soral sees Luca and Javier playing with Luca’s nephew as they stroll the clan freely. The baby’s giggles carry on the wind, bright and happy. Soral’s heart clench with wanting. “I want to play with the baby too!” Before Vidarr can stop him, Soral slides away and waddles toward the door. He takes three steps before strong arms wrap around him. “No.” “But they’re right there…” “No.” Soral gets lifted agai

  • My Brute Alpha (The Alpha and His Omega #1)   SORAL AND VIDARR

SPECIAL CHAPTER Soral tosses restlessly on their mattress, the thick furs bunched around his swollen form. His massive belly makes every position uncomfortable. He completely misses sleeping on his stomach; now, he cannot even move around without this constant weight pulling at his back. A soft whine escapes his throat as he shifts again, the baby pressing against his ribs.Soral gives up on sleeping and his gaze flickers around the large hut where Vidarr crouches beside the fire, feeding another log to the flames. When Soral’s whine reaches him, something tight clenches in Vidarr’s chest. Wasn't the omega asleep only a few minutes ago?“Vidarr come back to bed. You’re warm. I hate when you leave.” Soral whines softly, his voice muffled by furs. Vidarr adjusts the last wood and turns, Soral’s scent hits him full force. Pregnancy has made it richer, deeper, like warm honey and fresh rain. His omega is beautiful like this, all soft curves and glowing skin.Vidarr crosses to the bed

  • My Brute Alpha (The Alpha and His Omega #1)   RENE AND LYRIEN

SPECIAL CHAPTER Rene snuggles into the warmth of the furs, watching as Lyrien adds more wood into the burning fire place. The children are back to sleep after being fed. Rene feels exhausted too, his eyes are on the verge of closing when he hears Lyrien's silent footsteps. “Our babies are so beautiful, but it's to be expected, everything that comes from you are always beautiful,” Lyrien says softly, settling beside Rene on the furs. Rene's eyes flutters open, he barely manages a faint smile as Lyrien gathers him into his warmth. Lyrien leans down and kisses Rene gently. Rene melts into the touch, seeing such tenderness in his mate’s dark eyes. This fierce warrior, this male who strikes fear into enemies across the territories, is already completely devoted to their children. And him. Everything has changed so fast. Just yesterday, it feels like, they were waiting. Now they are parents. And soon Soral will give birth to Vidarr’s child any day from now. .Rene starts laughing, hi
