Xavier’s POV

I let out a heavy sigh of relief when Jasper finally leaves my room, still talking excitedly about the party plans. He seems completely focused on making this event perfect, and I can tell he’s forgotten all about seeing Jake’s name on my phone. Thank goodness for his short attention span when it comes to things that don’t directly interest him.

As soon as I hear his footsteps disappear down the hallway, I quickly grab my phone and check Instagram. I see that Tara has sent me several messages while Jasper was in my room, and my stomach knots up as I read them.

“The guy has this huge house and his parents are never around, so he said I can basically make myself at home there. Isn’t that amazing?&rdqu

Tara’s POVThe next morning, I don’t waste a single second to leave the twins’ house when I’m sure their parents aren’t going to be around for three days. I wake up early and immediately start getting my things ready. I can’t stand being in this house for another minute, especially after everything that happened yesterday with Xavier and his stupid water spilling.I’m in the middle of packing some clothes into my bag when I hear footsteps in the hallway. A few minutes later, there’s a soft knock on my door.“Tara?” It’s Jasper’s voice. “I made breakfast if you want to eat before you go anywhere.”I pause what I’m doing and think about it for a moment. Part of me is hungry, and I have to a

  • My Bullies Are Twin Hockey Players   Chapter 105: It’s nothing.

Xavier’s POVAfter Tara leaves the living room and storms up to her room, I feel this heavy weight settling in my chest. I can see that Jasper is frustrated too, running his hands through his hair and pacing around.I decide to go to my room because I need some time to think about what just happened. But more importantly, I need to talk to Tara as Jake. Maybe I can help calm her down or at least understand what she’s really thinking about all of this.I close my door behind me and grab my phone from my desk. I know I need to be careful about what I say and how I say it. Tara can’t suspect anything, especially not now when everything is already so complicated. But before I can even send her a message, I see that she’s already sent me a voice note. My heart starts beating faster as I put in my earphones and click play.“Jake, you won’t believe what just happened to me,” her voice says, and I can hear how upset and frustrated she sounds. “I’m staying at the twins’ house now, like I told

  • My Bullies Are Twin Hockey Players   Chapter 104: Not a prank

Jasper’s POVIt’s getting dark outside, and Tara still isn’t back home. I keep checking my phone to see what time it is, and with each passing minute, I’m getting more and more worried. Where could she have gone? She doesn’t know this neighborhood, and she left here angry and upset.I’m sitting in the living room, trying to focus on the TV, but I can’t concentrate on anything. My eyes keep drifting to the window, hoping to see Tara walking up the driveway. But there’s nothing. Xavier is pacing around the house, and I can tell he’s just as worried as I am. He keeps going to different windows, looking out like he might spot Tara somewhere in the distance.“This is all your fault,” I say to him, not trying to hide my frustration. “Why couldn’t you just clean up the water immediately when it spilled?”Xavier stops pacing and turns to look at me. “It was an accident, Jasper,” he says, and I can hear the tiredness in his voice. “I’ve told you this a hundred times already.”“Well, maybe if

  • My Bullies Are Twin Hockey Players   Chapter 103: Surprised he’s rich.

Tara’s POVTony invites me into his house, and I can’t hold myself from making a look of total surprise. My mouth literally falls open as I step through the front door. The inside of his house is even more impressive than the outside, which I didn’t think was possible.“I never thought you were a rich kid,” I confess to Tony, still looking around in amazement. Everything in this house screams money.Tony just laughs at my reaction. “My parents work really hard,” he says simply, like having a house this big and fancy is totally normal. “They’re in business, always traveling for work.”I’m still trying to process all of this when Tony asks me what I’m doing in this neighborhood. I realize I haven’t explained why I’m here, walking around by myself, looking upset.“I’ll be staying here for some time,” I tell him, trying to keep my voice casual even though I’m still frustrated about the whole situation. “But it’s not by my will. I don’t really have a choice in the matter.”Tony nods like h

  • My Bullies Are Twin Hockey Players   Chapter 102: Pulling prank

Tara’s POVWe get to the dining room, and I’m surprised to see that the table is already set with food, but something seems off. The twins’ parents are nowhere to be seen, which is strange since I thought they would be joining us. “Where are your parents?” I ask, looking around the empty dining room.“Oh, they had to leave on an emergency,” Jasper says casually, like it’s no big deal. “They got a call about some business issue that needed immediate attention.”I’m shocked by this news. “They left? But I just got here.” “Yeah, it’s pretty much normal for them,” Jasper continues with a shrug. “They always leave suddenly like this and come back three days later. Sometimes it’s business, sometimes it’s other family matters. You’ll get used to it.”This information makes me feel even more uncomfortable about being here. I was expecting to stay in a house with adult supervision, but now it’s just going to be me and the twins for the next few days. This is not what I signed up for.I look
