That Night

Dylan sighed and walked up to the girls, who were smiling naturally at him. He faced the one who had raised her arm and smirked. "Let's talk, Danielle" He said, strictly without showing a tint of his white set of teeth.

Jenny blinked her eyes, confusedly. Dylan was facing her, but he was referring to her as Danielle, who was just close to her.

"Have you suddenly gone blind, brother?" Jenny laughed.

Dylan's eyes blinked a hundred times. It was only Jenny that called him brother in that squeaky tone.

"Oh Jenny" He cleared his throat dramatically whilst running his eyes at the ladies by her side to know who was his younger sister. Seeing nothing was working, he looked away.

"Danielle? Let talk. Meet me outside" He said and walked away.

Danielle was watching him perplexed. She furrowed her brows and watched him leave. Her thoughts were endless.

"What could be wrong with him?" She thought. "He keeps acting weird or is he pulling some lame childish prank"

"Didn't you hear what your brother said?" Sasha asked, jerking her away from her thoughts.

"Oh yeah, sure" Danielle faked a laugh and went up the ladder. She grabbed her furred jacket on the chair and wore it.

*

"What's it, Dylan?" Danielle asked, folding her arms.

Dylan, whose eyes were elsewhere slowly turned to face her. He studied her for a while before making any utterances.

"You took a billion dollar from my account" He said, and she nodded, looking at her expensive painted nails.

"Yeah"

"Yeah? Just yeah?" He raised a brow. "Shouldn't you apologize or explain why you took that amount?"

"Oh come on. I'm sure I told you that I wanted some cash, and you gave me your card yourself"

"Oh, I see. Now, another name for a billion dollar is some money? You've grown some guts, young lady"

"Why are you exaggerating because of this? Last time I checked your balance before the withdrawal, the zeros I saw were endless. Or aren't you a billionaire anymore?" She asked and gasped out of sarcasm. "Or don't tell me you're going bankrupt, dear brother"

"You're becoming annoying, Danielle. You can cut it out" He warned with his brows arched.

"Anyway, If you must know. I just the money for a lot of things. I had to change my wardrobes, get new beauty implements. I also bought the latest makeup kit. In short, I spent it all on myself. Danielle needed it. Thanks, Dylan" She smiled and patted his shoulder.

Dylan said nothing but looked at her. He wished he could read her facial emotions. Perhaps, that way, he would be able to know if she was lying or not.

"I'm leaving first" She winked and left him.

Dylan sighed deeply. "I hope she isn't spending it on all those boys… because it's not going to be funny if I find out" He whispered to himself and walked away without saying goodbye to his mother.

*

"So, why did he call you out?" Sasha asked.

"Yeah, what did he say?" Jenny giggled.

"You two never mind your business, seriously" Danielle smirked and poured champagne for herself in a glass.

"I'm glad you know" Sasha gave Danielle's her own unique smirk which changed her entire face.

Danielle rolled her eyes. "The 1 billion. He complained about it"

"Gosh. I thought he would wave it away?" Sasha asked and Danielle rolled her eyes.

"Are you sure he won't know what you actually did with the money?" Jenny whispered.

"He won't! Unless you want to tell him" Danielle yapped and came out of the pool.

"What's her problem?" Jenny sucked in her lower lip.

"It's your fault, girl. You shouldn't have angered her in the first place" Sasha said shaking her head. Then, came out of the pool, leaving Jenny all alone.

THAT NIGHT*

"Hmph!" Chloe grunted and laid on her bed. She interlocked her fingers and kept them on her chest while her eyes gaped at the ceiling.

"I wonder why he didn't come to work after meeting with Danielle. What could have happened?" She thought.

"Huh! Why am I even thinking about that? Maybe he stayed over at her place?"

Chloe suddenly heard the beeping sounds of buttons coming from outside. It was obviously the door keypads.

"Is he back?" She whispered and quickly stood up. Chloe went to her door and opened it quickly. She peeped to see Dylan who seemed drunk tapping the numeric keys on the door.

"Gosh, what's he doing? He must be drunk? Why did he drink like this? He won't be able to unlock his door at this rate" She shook her head.

Dylan sighed deeply and sat on the floor tiredly. He was already exhausted of pressing the keypads which declined all his endeavors to enter the room.

"So cold" Dylan muttered with his eyes flickering. He was about to doze off.

"Oh no. He can't sleep outside" Chloe thought and ran back in. She wore her hoodie and a face mask which concealed the essential part of her face.

She slowly walked outside and went to Dylan, who was already sleeping.

"Hey" She said with a tiny voice.

"Hey, wake up. You shouldn't sleep outside like this" Chloe said again and kicked him this time.

He moaned but didn't open his eyes.

"Goodness! What kind of trouble is this" She thought and bent down.

"Sir? Sir? Can you hear me? Please, what is the code?" She asked and crouched low.

Dylan tutted and slowly raised his eyelids. He felt he could see clearly. He could read the person's eyes, which was the only thing that was exposed on Chloe's face.

Dylan slowly raised his hand and placed them on her cheek. Chloe's eyes opened widely in surprise.

"Sir! What are you doing?" She slapped his hand away and stood up. "You should go in, or you'll catch the flu"

"It's my birthday" He said muffledly as his eyes slowly closed.

"Huh? Your birthday? You mean the code is your birthday?" She asked and he nodded.

"What's your birthday, then?" She asked, but he wasn't responding.

"Oh really? You're really going to stress me tonight" She sighed and bent low.

"Maybe I'll see his ID that could help" She thought and shook her hand into his pockets.

"Thief!" She heard someone yell, and she turned her head to meet Danielle glaring at her and panting hard.

"Shît" was the only thing Chloe could whisper.
