Chapter 5

Auteur: Lovelicious
Third-Person POV

Bob gripped the wheel and stammered, "M-Mr. Sawyer said, 'I've burned all 100 letters. We're done.'"

Sienna's phone slipped from her hand and hit the floor.

She was frozen in place. Her ears rang as Julian's words echoed in her head.

"We're done."

Julian wasn't angry. He wasn't throwing another fit. He was just done with her.

Sienna went pale as she gasped for air.

She dropped to her knees and frantically clawed through the ashes, searching for something.

The ash trickle

Julian's POVIn a small seaside town near the equator, there were no endless stretches of rain, only bougainvillea blooming in brilliant shades of pink and red.The wind here smelled of salt, the sea was blue, and life was full of warmth.I walked through the bustling morning market with Noah's hand in mine. He'd gotten tan and was growing into a sturdy young boy.Pointing at the bright red tomatoes at a stall, he excitedly shouted, "Daddy! I want those! For soup!""Alright. We'll get some."Smiling, I crouched down and wiped the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief.Sunlight filtered through the market's worn-out awnings and fell in patches across my face.Squinting in the glare, I haggled with the vendor over the price of a bunch of green onions.I couldn't help but grin when I finally got him to lower the price.I'd once been the spoiled young heir of the Sawyer family and spent money without a second thought. Now, I was haggling over a few cents. There was someth

Third-Person POVWendy pointed a trembling finger at Sienna. Her voice was thick with grief and fury."Ten years ago, Julian spent an entire night on his knees in the snow outside the Sawyer residence because he wanted to marry you, a girl with nothing to her name. He told me that you might not have money, but you had a good heart. He said that you'd give your life for him if you had to."I believed him. I thought you'd treat him right, so that's why I entrusted my precious son to you."Wendy stepped forward and struck the floor with her cane. "Yet, this is how you've treated him. Everything you have today is thanks to the Sawyers. Julian stood by you through every hardship on your way to the top."The moment you made it, you started seeing other men on the side and even got pregnant by another man. Now you're trying to kick your own husband out of his home for the sake of a homewrecker. Did Julian really deserve all that?"Faced with the older woman's fury, Sienna couldn't even

Third-Person POVFor three straight days, Sienna used her connections in business and political circles to track down Julian. She even cashed in favors to gain access to immigration records. But every lead came up empty. There was no record of him leaving the country, no trace of his spending, and no glimpse of him on traffic cameras.Julian had vanished without a trace."Ms. Taylor…"The head of security cautiously opened the study door. The lights were off, and the heavy curtains were drawn. The room smelled of stale liquor, enough to make anyone barf.Sienna sat slumped on the carpet. Empty whiskey bottles surrounded her.Her makeup had run, and her once sharp, calculating eyes were fixed on the doorway."Did you find him?"The security chief lowered his head as if he was afraid to meet her gaze. "We've had people watching airports around the world for two days. We've checked every luxury hotel and community we could find, but there's no trace of Mr. Sawyer entering any o

Third-Person POV"Sienna, you're pregnant! The doctor told you to rest. You can't just run off like this!" Gavin roared. "Julian's a grown man. Why would he run away from home? It's childish. Besides, you said it yourself. He's a Sawyer. He's used to getting his way."Maybe he's just trying to scare you into giving in."He kept talking, oblivious to the storm brewing on Sienna's face."Look—he didn't even make a fuss when I moved in. He's clearly accepted it. Give it three days, maybe five. Once he runs out of money and gets over his little tantrum, he'll come crawling back. Without you, he's nobody.""Shut up!" Sienna's roar cut him off.She looked at the man she'd once found so irresistible. For the first time in forever, she couldn't stand the sight of him.Was this really the man she'd been willing to hurt Julian to protect? He was shallow, mean, and utterly lacked class."What do you mean he's just trying to scare me?"Sienna pointed at the stairs. Her voice trembled wit

Her knee slammed against a step, sending a sharp pain through her, but she didn't make a sound. She rushed into the master bedroom and went straig

  • My Cheating Billionaire Wife Funded My Escape   Chapter 4

Julian's POVThe living room was dark except for the faint flame flickering in the copper brazier. The flames consumed the corners of the 100th love letter. The love that had once burned so fiercely was now nothing but cold ash.The 100th letter was gone.Sienna and I were done."What are you burning?"I heard the door open behind me. Sienna stepped inside and glanced at the brazier on the floor. She frowned and coughed from the smoke.I swallowed the lump in my throat. "Just cleaning up. I got rid of some things I didn't need anymore."Sienna didn't think much of it. She stepped closer to me and spoke in an unusually gentle voice."Forget that. Let's go see Noah."Our two-year-old, Noah Sawyer, was playing with his building blocks on the nursery rug.The moment Sienna entered the room, he called out, "Mommy! Huggies!"She lifted him, smiled, and spun around twice. Her face was full of warmth when she finally turned back to me."I've pulled some strings to get Noah into
