Chapter 4

Author: Peanuts
Douglas was speaking so loudly that the people at the table beside us turned to look.

This was so embarrassing.

I covered his mouth.

“Stop talking nonsense. Nothing even happened. And why are you making it sound like I was the one who took advantage of you? You were the one guiding my hand all over the place.”

I blushed when I recalled what happened.

[So you guys got freaky after dark, huh?]

[Douglas is looking at you with pure hunger in his eyes. He wants you really bad. It’s downright indecent.]

Just as I was focused on reading more of comments, Douglas licked my palm. It was as if he were punishing me for not paying attention to him.

I was so startled that I immediately pulled my hand away.

“You... you...”

He took my hand and carefully wiped it with a handkerchief.

“Babe, I know you’re being reserved because of Finn. Just give me a shot. Besides, with your condition, you’re going to need me again.”

I thought about how we did not go all the way yesterday. The heat I felt yesterday would probably come crashing back soon.

I did need a reliable source on standby.

“Fine. But we should set the terms now. Publicly, we’re a couple. Privately, this is a partnership. When I need you, you’ll provide the cuddles. I’ll pay you. Name your price.”

What could we say? We succubi were naturally drawn to glittering things. Our ancestors struck gold in the early days - discovered entire mineral veins that laid the foundation for our legendary wealth.

As I was just feeling quite pleased with my idea, the comments popped up like crazy again.

[Willow, Douglas is the wealthiest man in Onyx City. Money is the last thing he worries about.]

[Willow, as a strong, independent woman, you don’t need to overthink this. He likes you anyway. Just sit back and enjoy it.]

Just when I thought he would refuse, he responded.

“Alright. But I don’t want your money. My terms are simple. When you have an urge, you come to me only. And I will decide how we’ll be intimate.”

His terms seemed a little weird, but he had agreed. I naturally did not want to let go of such a high-quality prospect.

“Deal.”

Right after we made our deal, he said he had some business to attend to and needed to be away for a while.

I suspected that he might have regretted agreeing to our partnership.

Yet he texted me very frequently. He would ask what I was doing or eating, or who I was with. He seemed curious about everything in my life.

I did not feel like talking to him. To me, no cuddles meant no conversation.

As for Finn, whose contact Douglas had deleted from my phone, he kept sending me friend requests. I did not accept them.

I simply put my phone on silent mode.

Without men pestering me, I found myself with plenty of time.

I started going to the library every day to work on my design project.

Designing jewelry had been my passion since I was a child, and I had always had a knack for it.

I was actually a renowned jewelry designer named Wishart. That was an identity I had always kept secret.

Recently, a major client commissioned me to design a ring that was one of a kind. The deadline was very tight, and I had already spent two consecutive nights making drafts.

I should not accept such rushed jobs in the future. They were truly exhausting.

I impressed myself with how wealthy and hardworking I was.

I had always been that way. My mother taught me from a young age that a woman must have a passion to dedicate herself to.

Romance was only a small part of life.

A woman had to have her own career.

Just as I stepped out of the library, I saw Evelyn clinging to Finn.

“Finn, what’s wrong with you lately? You haven’t gone on a date with me in so long. Are you tired of me?”

Finn pulled Evelyn closer and wiped away her tears.

“Eve, please don’t cry. I just haven’t been feeling well lately. Tell you what, I’ll get you that bag you wanted the other day, okay?

This made me mad. I clenched my fist.

I forgot to tell my mother to cut off his allowance.

How dare he use my family’s money to pamper someone else?!

I took out my phone and called my mother.

“Mom, Finn stood me up when I was in heat. Cut off all his funding.”

I booked ten male escorts from the most famous nightclub in Onyx City.Just as I grabbed my high heels and was about to run out the door, Douglas grabbed me by the back of my collar. “Where do you think you’re going? And where did you even learn to book for male escorts?”I turned my back in shock.“How did you know?”Douglas exhaled by my ear. His breath was warm, but it sent a shiver down my spine. This made my body feel even hotter.“I know because I own the nightclub you called. They informed me that you booked ten male escorts. They said you specified that you wanted them ‘skilled’!”Oh, I had messed up big time.It seemed like booking escorts was what finally provoked him.He finally shed his gentle demeanor and had his way with me.I could finally relieve my urges. However, I was baffled by a regular human’s immense stamina.I wanted to call for help! Just as Douglas was having his way with me, I heard familiar voices talking. It was Finn and Evelyn. They seemed to be arguing over a bag.Ah, yes. I had told my mother to cut off Finn’s funding. He had become penniless. But had he not always said that Evelyn was a demure girl? Surely, she would not mind.“Finn, I said back off. Are you trying to blow away my chances with other people?”Finn pulled her into his arms.“Eve, come on. I’ll get you the bag another time. Does our relationship really mean less to you than some purse?”She pushed him away directly.“Some purse? Do you have any idea how much it costs? You didn’t actually think I stayed with you for you, did you? Listen, I’m here for the money. Everything before was just me playing a part. Now that Willow’s family has cut you off, you’re broke. No money, no me. It’s that simple.”“No, that’s not true...”“The difference between us, Finn, is that I’m honest about what I want. I like money, and I’ll work for it. I kno

After ending the call with my mother, I noticed that my phone had over a hundred unread messages.I tapped in and saw they were all from Douglas. He was such a chatterbox. He was clingy too.I had an early lecture the next day, so I went to bed early. The next day, right after I woke up, I sent out the finalized ring design draft via email. After arriving at the large lecture hall, I found a seat and settled in.Finn came over immediately. He handed me a breakfast he had brought from the cafeteria.“Willow, you skipped breakfast again, didn’t you? I grabbed this for you.”Since we were both fairly good-looking, and I had recently been a trending topic on the campus network, several people started taking photos of me and Finn.If Douglas found out that I had accepted breakfast from Finn, things would probably not end well.“No thanks.”“Lilo, are you still mad about that? So I stood you up one time. You were fine. Why are you making such a big deal out of nothing?”A big de
