In its place stood a towering Void Knight clad in black armor forged from living shadows. Its chest bore the royal crest of the Wolf Kingdom. The same crest it had stolen from Ethan's father. "I wore his face..." The Emperor said calmly. "...because memories are sharper than blades." The Void Knight charged. --- CLANG! The Eternal King's Blade met the knight's massive sword. The collision sent sparks of silver, crimson, and gold across the battlefield. The knight was impossibly strong. Each blow forced Ethan backward. His boots carved deep trenches into the broken earth. "You fight with anger," the Emperor observed. "That is why you are losing." Ethan gritted his teeth. "I'm fighting for my family!" "No." The Emperor shook his head. "You're fighting because you're afraid to lose them." "There is a difference." --- Far away, Aria opened her eyes. She stood alone in a world of endless moonlight. The Path of the Moon. A silver lake stretched to the horizon. Above it floated countless glowing memories. Her first meeting with Ethan. Their arguments. Their laughter. Their first embrace. A gentle voice echoed across the water. "Moon Queen..." The Moon Goddess appeared before her, wrapped in robes of silver starlight. "You have reached the final trial." Aria bowed respectfully. "Were your father and brother truly worthy of sacrificing themselves for you?" --- Suddenly... The Eternal King's Blade began to glow. A familiar voice echoed from within it. "Stand up." Ethan froze. His brother. Then another voice joined it. "A king does not fight alone." His father. Golden light emerged from the blade. The transparent figures of King Aldric and the First Prince appeared behind Ethan. They were not ghosts. Nor illusions. They were echoes left within the sacred weapon. King Aldric smiled proudly. "You've already surpassed me." The First Prince laughed. "I told you he would." Strength surged through Ethan's body. He rose to his feet. The cracks beneath him exploded outward. With one mighty swing, he forced the Void Knight backward for the first time. The united army erupted in cheers. --- Meanwhile... On the Path of the Moon... The Moon Goddess finally asked her question. "If the world could only be saved by giving up the man you love..." "Would you let him go?" Aria closed her eyes. Tears rolled down her cheeks. After a long silence... She smiled. "I love Ethan more than my own life." "But real love isn't about possession." "If sacrificing our happiness would save innocent lives..." "I would let him go." The Moon Goddess searched her eyes. "You would lose everything." Aria nodded. "Then I would spend the rest of my life protecting the world he saved." The Moon Goddess smiled for the first time. "You have answered with love..." "...not fear." She touched Aria's forehead. The Moon Crown transformed into a radiant diadem of silver stars. He slowly drew a sword from the darkness. Unlike any weapon ever forged. Its blade seemed to absorb all light around it. The First Alpha's ears flattened. "No..." "The Void Crown Blade." The Grand Sage's voice trembled. "That weapon ended the First Divine War." The Emperor pointed the blade toward Ethan. "No more games." "This strike..." "...will decide the fate of every world." Darkness swallowed the sky. The sun disappeared. The moon vanished. Even the stars blinked out. Only two lights remained. The black glow of the Void Crown Blade... She landed beside Ethan, her new Moon Diadem shining like a constellation. She took his hand. Their powers merged. The Eternal King's Blade transformed one final time.
