Liliana’s Point of View

We were finally back at work. I stared out the window as we neared the company building. My thoughts were all over the place.

I glanced at Asher, who was still on a call. He looked busy, eyes fixed on the tablet in his hand. I didn’t want to disturb him—he was clearly swamped with work.

Just like me.

We passed the usual spot where I would usually be dropped off, but the car didn’t stop. I looked at him, then back at the road, but didn’t say anything. He was still on the phone, after all. I didn’t want to interrupt.

I slowly leaned forward, planning to talk to the driver, but Asher’s hand gently caught mine and guided me back to my seat.

What the—?

I wanted to say something, but he was still on the call! Was he planning to drop me off at the parking lot? I mean, I knew it was safe, but come on, there were still people coming in and out down there. What if someone saw us?

I sighed silently, already imagining the looks we’d get if we exited the car together.

Liliana’s Point of ViewThe day’s tasks were finally over. I stretched my arms and exhaled as I leaned back in my seat, glancing at my phone just as a message popped up from Gerald. He was asking me out on a date—tonight.I peeked toward the front, where he was already smiling at me. I bit my lip and leaned into the seat, making sure he caught that look on my face. And he did.I saw his Adam’s apple bob as he gulped—yup, he was falling for it. I warned myself earlier that I’d be channeling my inner Mirabelle today, and well… he better be ready for the flirtation I had in store. He gave me a hand signal from across the room, asking if our date was a go. I grinned and quickly typed my reply:"Okay, babe."Sent.I looked up just in time to see his grin stretch wider.I pulled out my bag and started touching up my lipstick, feeling a presence beside me. When I looked up, there was Mirabelle, sliding into the seat next to mine.“Beshy…” she started.I glanced at her briefly. “Hmm? Do you n

Third Person's Point of ViewCoincidentally, on that same night, a lavish party was being held at the same hotel—a party to which Asher was also invited. But things didn’t go smoothly. The birthday girl had taken an unusual interest in him and made it impossible for him to leave without causing a scene. So, with a quiet urgency, he turned to one of his bodyguards. "I need to disappear—lend me your disguise."The guard, dressed as a hotel staff, handed him the uniform. Asher swiftly changed inside the restroom, every move deliberate, calculated. The fit was almost perfect, as if the disguise had always been meant for him. With one last glance in the mirror, he stepped out into the corridor, now unrecognizable. As he quietly slipped through the hallway, he couldn’t help but peek inside the grand ballroom. What he saw made his world stop. There, in the center of the spotlight, stood Liliana. Her expression was frozen, shocked, as Gerald knelt before her with a ring in hand.A piercing ac

Liliana’s Point of ViewWe finally arrived at the entrance of the mansion, and I stood there with my mouth slightly open, in awe. The entire estate looked like something out of a dream. White and gold dominated the exterior, creating a strikingly elegant aesthetic. My eyes slowly traveled upward, landing on the enormous chandelier hanging from the high ceiling. It sparkled like stars trapped in crystal.“Hubby… is that all real gold?”I pointed toward the chandelier, mesmerized by how it shimmered with grace and opulence. He chuckled softly and walked over to me. “If I say it is, are you planning to pawn it?”“Maybe.” I answered too quickly, then paused, eyes widening. I slowly turned to him.“Do you need money, wife? I can give you more.”“W-What? That was a joke!”But he was already reaching into his wallet.“You should’ve told me that the black card I gave you wasn’t enough.”“Eh?” I blinked. Oh no. I had completely forgotten about that card. He did give me one, didn’t he? But I ne

Liliana’s Point of View*If I were their child and found out what really happened, I’d have so many questions for them—especially about why they thought that was the right way to handle everything.“Did their daughter ever meet them?” I asked Asher, noticing how he suddenly looked at me.“Their daughter had amnesia,” he replied quietly, “after an accident years ago.”I froze. They did mention earlier that their daughter had been in danger during that time, but I didn’t realize the impact was that severe. She lost her memory?“Do they not have any plans to reintroduce themselves to her?” I asked again, the words falling out of my mouth faster than I expected.“They’re scared. They're afraid that if they show up now, it might trigger those memories—and possibly bring back the trauma, too.”“She has to face it eventually. That’s a part of her. And what if she actually misses them, even if she doesn’t remember them?”I didn’t even realize I was crying until Asher reached up and gently wip

Liliana's Point of ViewI just sat there, watching them as they ate. There was a strange feeling in my heart—something unfamiliar, something I couldn’t quite name. But whatever it was, it felt warm. They all looked so familiar... like I’ve known them forever.“Are you okay?”My husband’s gentle voice pulled me back to the present.“Yes, I’m okay,” I replied softly, giving him a small smile before returning to my meal. And then it hit me—my birthday was coming up. I had saved a little so I could prepare a simple celebration.“Um… my birthday’s coming up soon,” I said, a bit hesitantly.Everyone at the table looked at me, surprised that I spoke.“It’s nothing fancy or big… I mean, maybe it’s too much to ask. Plane tickets are expensive. Just forget I said anything.”I closed my eyes in embarrassment. Why did I even mention it like my house was just around the corner? I forgot… we’re still in Italy.“We will go,” said Brother Enzo’s father firmly. My eyes widened. “P-Pardon?”He smiled—h
