3rd Person's Point of View

Liliana gently held Asher's hand.

"Tell me everything. I need clarity, and hearing it all from you will help."

Asher nodded slowly.

“Okay, I'll tell you everything you want to know.”

Liliana smiled and nodded in return.

Flashback...

“I'm serious about marrying you,” Asher said earnestly, his eyes reflecting genuine intent.

Liliana's cheeks flushed as she saw the sincerity in his gaze.

Asher took her hand, noticing the ring he had placed on her finger earlier.

"How about you? Will you marry me, Liliana? I want to marry you right now, without asking for anything in return."

Liliana, now tipsy, nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! I will marry you! Let's go to church."

Asher was taken aback as Liliana grabbed his hand and stood up.

“The church is closed right now,” he said.

Liliana pouted, releasing his hand and clenching her fists to hold back tears.

“You don't want to marry me. Gerald was right that no one wants me. No one wants to marry me,” she sobbed.

Liliana’s Point of ViewI sat frozen, staring at Asher as he shared everything with me. According to his version of the story, I was the wild one. What?! He was the victim all along! He felt sorry for me, that's why he married me.It’s all my fault because I was the one who flirted with him, and he had no choice but to go along with it. He even called the mayor and Zephyr in the middle of the night while they were fast asleep—just to make it official. Because of my insanity, so many people got dragged into it.“I'm really sorry about what happened,” I said quietly. “Don't worry, I'll do everything to make up for all my sins.”“Sins? You commit sins?” he asked, looking confused. “You didn’t commit any sin. Besides, I agreed to everything you wanted. Stop blaming yourself.”“Why are you being so kind to me? I did all those shameless things to you, and you’re my boss too.”He just shrugged and smiled. “I don’t know either. I find it amusing.”“Oh, come on!” I groaned.I grabbed the bottl

3rd Person'sAsher couldn’t help but smile at Liliana’s words. She said she would help him regain his sense of taste—and little did he know, she truly would be the cure he never expected. She was becoming the antidote he needed, the one who would bring back the flavors he had long forgotten. He glanced at her again. Liliana was sipping her drink, eyes fixed on her phone.“Damn those b*tches,” she muttered bitterly. His eyes followed hers to the phone screen. It was a photo of her ex-fiancé and ex-best friend, holding hands during a picnic. Other pictures showed the two entering a motel together.“They really don’t regret anything they did,” she said coldly.“People like them are addicted to sex,” she added. “They can’t stop or walk away from it. If you go back to that guy, he might touch you again—or worse, he might even rape you.”“If he dares to try, I’ll cut his damn thing off,” Liliana hissed. “They’re monsters—especially that so-called best friend of mine. A two-faced snake. I kn

Liliana’s Point of ViewI woke up to the sunlight hitting my face, making me groan a little as I hugged the pillow closer. But then I froze. The pillow I was hugging... it was breathing. I could hear a heartbeat. Slowly, I opened my eyes and widened them in shock when I saw him sleeping peacefully beside me.Of course, it was Asher.Wait—why were we sleeping next to each other? My face was practically pressed against his bare chest, and I bit my lip as I stared at it. I slowly moved away and realized he had no shirt on. My eyes trailed down, seeing that a blanket covered his lower half. I glanced at myself—I was still wearing my clothes... but where was my bra?I moved carefully, trying to lift his arm that was wrapped around my waist. I almost got free—until he pulled me tighter against him. My back was now pressed against his warm chest, and I could feel his breath on my neck.My eyes shot open again when he placed a kiss on the back of my neck.“Asher…” I whispered.“You’re plannin

Liliana’s Point of ViewDamn… Damn…“Wife?”I closed my eyes tightly, rubbing my temples as memories from last night came flooding back—me touching his chest, then sitting on his lap while holding him tight like some clingy fool.“Asher…”“Wife, don’t say my name like that. How are we supposed to convince everyone—especially your lawyer—that our marriage is real if you don’t act sweet to me?”“I’m not exactly the sweet type, okay?”“Well, I am.”I frowned at him, staring hard as more flashes from last night played in my head. Ugh! Why did I drink so much?I leaned my head against the window and gently tapped it, punishing myself.“Wife? Hey, don’t do that.”He quickly pulled the car over and rushed to my side, moving my head away from the glass.“Why are you hurting yourself?”“Please… just keep me away from beer forever. I’m sorry for what I did to you last night!”I buried my face in my hands, overwhelmed by embarrassment.“So, you remember what happened?” he asked, curious. “What e

Liliana's Point of View*I stood before the mirror while watching myself, my heart thundering like a wind drumbeat in my chest as I took in my reflection. My breath caught slightly, and I smoothed like the fabric of my dress with trembling hands, trying to gather myself. I need to calm myself or Asher will notice.Just beyond the drawn curtain, Asher waited and sat calmly on the sofa, unaware of the storm of nerves swirling inside me.The room was silent, but the air was thick with anticipation. My palms grew damp, a testament to how tightly wound I had become. Waaa I'm nervous! Then came the soft voice of the assistant lady, breaking the stillness like a delicate chime, “Mr. Windermere, Milady is ready and standing behind the curtain.” “I’m ready to see her. You can open the curtain now,” came Asher’s calm reply. My heartbeat quickened even more. I was wearing a dark dark red dress that hugged my frame and stopped just above my knees. Three-inch heels added some height to my usual

Liliana’s Point of ViewAs we walked through the grocery store, Asher told me to grab anything we could stock in the fridge—ingredients for meals we would cook and eat together. Since it was all for us, I didn’t hesitate to start picking out what we needed.“Do you think everything I’m getting will fit in the fridge?” I asked as I scanned the growing pile in the cart.“I’ll buy a bigger fridge,” he replied without missing a beat.My eyes widened in shock. “You’re joking, right?”“Nope. There’s no room for jokes when it comes to things we need as husband and wife.”I froze in place.“Huh? Hey, come on. Relax. I think all this will fit in your condo fridge, so don’t worry too much.”“This isn’t all we’re buying, my Sweetheart. We’ve still got a long list ahead.”I stared at him, stunned. He was serious. “Let’s go,” he said, taking my hand as he pushed the cart forward. He stopped by the freezer section and started filling our cart with frozen goods.“That’s a lot,” I commented.“That’s

Liliana’s Point of ViewWe were still at the mall, and right now, we were facing Jessica and her group of friends.“Who are you?” one of them asked, clearly offended.“I’m sorry, but I’m not really in the mood to introduce myself today. So if you’re planning to flirt with a man right now, make sure it’s not my husband. Okay? Otherwise, I won’t just push you—I might just knock you out cold and leave you sleeping on the cold tiles.”They were clearly stunned by what I said. Jessica had always been one of my biggest rivals. She was my cousin on my father’s side and had always tried to steal the spotlight. Grandpa and Grandma had two children, but Grandpa had an affair and had a child outside of his marriage—Jessica’s mother, who turned out just like her, always seeking attention.Grandma accepted them because she had no choice, but she still kept her distance. I remained her one and only baby, the one she truly cared for. Even Grandpa, despite everything, still treated me that way. His m

Liliana’s Point of View*It was getting late, and we had already finished our dinner. I had just wrapped myself in a towel after getting out of the shower and made my way to the dressing room. Earlier, Asher had mentioned that he had some clothes in his drawer for me.I assumed I would borrow something for the time being, even though I had no idea whose clothes he was referring to. To be honest, I was relieved that we didn't go shopping earlier because I was afraid he would buy me more stuff. I was astounded by what I saw when I opened the drawer and froze. Several exquisitely arranged dresses that appeared brand new and pricey were inside.“Oh my God…”I stood there in disbelief.“So these are the few dresses he mentioned?”As I reached in, the scent of fresh fabric hit me. The clothes still had their tags on. It was unbelievable to me. "Asher!" I yelled, my voice resonating throughout the space. He opened the door after I heard his footsteps coming closer. He glanced at the

Liliana’s Point of ViewWe had just gotten back to his condo. We’d eaten out because earlier, he overheard me saying I was hungry. Instead of cooking, he decided we should eat at a restaurant. Not just any place though—he took me somewhere really expensive. I told him a cheaper one was fine, but of course, he didn’t listen. I couldn’t say no.The food was great, honestly. But the price? Seriously outrageous.“Hey,” I called out.He stopped on his way to the kitchen and turned to look at me. “What?”I paused. Oh, right... I almost forgot.“Hey,” I repeated, this time with more confidence. I had to remind myself—I need to act like the boss sometimes. He can’t always be the one in control. He started walking toward me, and I quickly stood up from the couch to meet him. I thought standing might help me feel taller. It didn’t.“Oh? What now? Gonna kiss me again?” I said with a little sass, lifting my chin as we locked eyes.He chuckled. I don’t think he meant to—it just escaped him.“Honey

Liliana’s Point of View“Jack, stop teaching him those kinds of things.”“Why? Do you hit people on the head even if you’re not close to them?”I paused for a moment and slowly shook my head.“Who’d be stupid enough to hit someone they don’t know? I might get punched in return.”“Admit it—you never hit Gerald on the head, did you?”I had to think for a second. It seemed like I hadn’t. Even though we were in a relationship for years, there was always a certain distance between us. Looking back, I think I only stayed with him because I wanted attention, not love. That’s probably why I settled for him.“So, you were never close to him. But with Asher? You got close to him so fast. Congrats on that, bro. It’s weird that I’m also close to the CEO of the company I work for.”“When it comes to work, we go back to being boss and employee.”“I know that.”Asher nodded slowly.“Why haven’t you announced it yet? It would hit your ex even harder.”“I want to give them false hope first, then leave

Liliana’s Point of ViewI arrived at the overlook and immediately spotted Asher’s car. I parked beside it, and both of them looked in my direction. Why does it seem like they’re getting along? Did Asher already tell him about our relationship?Asher’s driver walked over, opened my door, and helped me out of the car.“Kuya Driver, what’s going on with those two?” I asked in a whisper. He didn’t say anything. Instead, he gently guided me to where Asher and Jack were waiting. As I walked toward them, my heart wouldn’t stop pounding. When I reached them, I turned to Jack.“Jack, are you two close now?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.Jack looked at me seriously. I shifted my gaze to Asher, who was staring at me too.“What did you say?” I asked him.“Nothing.”I narrowed my eyes at him suspiciously.“Liliana, how did the CEO become your servant?” Jack suddenly asked, clearly confused.

Maribelle’s Point of View I bit my nail nervously as I stared at Liliana. What happened to her? Why does it feel like she’s changed? She wasn’t like this before. She used to agree with everything I said without question. I glanced at Gerald, who was also looking at Liliana. "Gerald." He turned to me. "What is it?" "I think something possessed her. It’s like there’s someone else living inside her now. One moment, she was the Liliana we knew, and the next... she’s completely different." Gerald smiled slightly, still watching Liliana with a furrowed brow. "I think I’m starting to like her now—" I elbowed him gently, and he clutched his stomach where I hit him. "Don’t you dare forget our deal." He frowned. "We’ll talk later." I turned away and went back to my seat, clenching my fists as I stared at Liliana again.

Liliana’s Point of ViewI moved slowly, my hand brushing against something firm beneath my cheek. Wait… a pillow shouldn’t be this hard.My eyes flew open—and I immediately froze.I was lying on someone’s lap. When I looked up, I saw the handsome face of our CEO. That’s when it hit me… I’d been using his lap as a pillow. And he was calmly reading through a stack of papers like this was completely normal. He noticed me staring and glanced down, his expression softening.“You’re awake now, honey.”My eyes widened. Panic took over, and I scrambled to sit up—only to tumble off the sofa.“Ouch!”“Wife, why are you panicking? Now look—you’ve fallen. Are you alright?”He placed the papers down on the table and helped me up carefully.“Does your butt hurt?”“W-Why was I using your lap as a pillow? Weren’t you the one sleeping earlier?”“I did fall asleep. But when I woke up a

Liliana's Point of ViewI swallowed hard as I looked at our Team Leader, Barbie.“D-Does his tone mean he’s angry already?”“Oh, come on, girl,” Barbie rolled his eyes dramatically. “You know how he is. That man always looks cold and emotionless no matter what. But seriously, what’s going on between you two? Why is he so fixated on you?”What was he talking about? The Asher I knew was completely different when we were together.Emotionless and cold? No way. He’s clingy, affectionate even. I’m usually the one pushing him away when he gets too close!“I-I don’t know either,” I said nervously. “Did he say anything else?”“He just asked you to go to his office. That’s it. But girl, my heart can’t take this. You better go before he blows up at me instead. I’m too fabulous to be yelled at.”“Fine, I’ll go. But you’re my friend, so defend me, okay?”“Nah, girl. Find out what he wants first. If your pitiful look doesn’t work, then turn on the charm.”“What are you even saying? Where’s your wo

Liliana’s Point of View“Huh?”I blinked, a little startled, and turned my head. Gerald was suddenly standing right beside me—I hadn’t even noticed him coming up.“What are you watching?” he asked, leaning closer and peeking at my phone.I quickly tapped my screen, switching to a random social media app. Just in time, a funny clip started playing, filling the silence with background laughter.“This,” I replied, giving him a tiny smile.“Oh. That’s the one we always watch together, right?”I nodded slowly, eyes on the screen, but my mind was more focused on him. “Yeah. I’ve been following all the new episodes.”“So… you done withdrawing?”“Yup. Got the cash. Let’s go?”“Yes, please. I’m starving.”He gave me another slow nod, but something in his expression shifted.“You’ve really changed lately,” he said as we started walking. “It’s like you’ve become someone else. You never used to admit you were hungry. Back then, you always left it to me to decide where we’d eat.”I tilted my head

Liliana’s Point of ViewI didn’t even realize it was already lunchtime. I had been so deep into work that the world outside my screen felt like a blur. Only when I heard a familiar voice did I snap out of it.“Babe, it’s lunchtime,” Gerald said, his voice soft, familiar—like something I had heard a thousand times before but still found comfort in.I turned to him slowly, blinking away the focus from my screen. Mirabelle stood beside him, arms crossed, lips pressed tight. There was something in her eyes—something unspoken, heavy.“Oh… I didn’t notice the time,” I mumbled, quickly locking my screen and gathering my things. Gerald helped me without a word, like he always did.“Let’s go?”I gave him a short smile and nodded. But then, I glanced at Mirabelle again and hesitated.“Uhm… are you coming with us?” I asked. She tilted her head slightly, confusion flashing across her face—maybe feigned, maybe not.“Didn’t he tell you? We have a lunch date today,” she said plainly. My brows knit t

Liliana’s Point of ViewI smiled as I looked at them."Wait, something feels different. You're dressed so nicely and even did your hair. Why didn’t you call me?"Because I already knew you'd pick those old-fashioned clothes again—nothing like what I’m wearing now.“Oh, I forgot to call. But this suits me, right?” I smiled at her, then glanced at Gerald, who was staring at me, completely frozen. He walked slowly toward me and gently removed my reading glasses. It was a good thing I had put in contact lenses today. I didn’t need glasses anymore, and my vision remained clear.Gerald seemed even more stunned. Even my coworkers looked surprised to see me without my usual glasses."I didn’t know Liliana was this beautiful without her glasses.""Gerald’s lucky to have her as his fiancée."“Babe, you’re so beautiful.”“But didn’t you say I looked better with my glasses on? Hair tied back, old clothes and all? That’s what Mirabelle told me you said.”"Ah… well, you're beautiful no matter what
