Reconciliation

Author's POV:

Wendy's heart raced as she realized the implications of Sandra's words. "What do you mean? What have you been putting in my tea?"

Sandra answered readily. "It's just a little poison, ma'am. Just enough to make you weak and reliant on Cole."

Wendy swallowed but she didn't say anything. This was just too much to take in.

"Dr Cole? He's your boyfriend, isn't he?" She asked, her mind racing.

"Yes, ma'am. And he's been after your fortune for years. We figured if we could get you dependent on him, he could convince you to change your will in his favor. To do that we had to poison you."

The cup fell from Wendy's hand and broke on the floor.

She couldn't find her ground anymore. It was almost as if she was going to faint any seconds now.

"E-explain something I don't know," Wendy stuttered. "My mysterious illness for the past six years, was it because of the tea?"
