Chapter 11

I turned around, following his pointing finger, and saw a man in a white shirt standing not far away. He had an apron tied around his waist, and his once handsome face now bore a light stubble.

It had been several years, and he had aged considerably, looking less like a man approaching his thirties and more like a middle-aged person whose edges had been smoothed by life.

When Nash noticed me, he clearly froze in his tracks. I knew he had recognized me.

He approached; his steps somewhat unsteady. Steve whispered to me that it was due to the aftereffects of a car accident he had been in, where he didn't receive timely treatment.

He greeted Steve naturally, then turned to me. "Wendy, it's been a long time."

I nodded slightly and smiled softly. "Long time no see, Nash."
