The assistant had to call Gery to come to Mrs. Daphne's room after Eve had waited for a while with her heart beating, the door finally opened, and the cold CEO's footsteps went in the direction where Eve was sitting and looked down deeply.

"You?" Gery screamed to see the girl who had angered him so much in his grandmother's room.

"What is this girl here for, grandma?" Gery asked Mrs. Daphne. Mrs. Daphne casually swallowed her drink and made an expressionless face.

"Is that how you welcome guests, Gery? Although she is your subordinate, she is my guest in this room. You shouldn't behave like that in front of a guest." Mrs. Daphne rebuked her grandson. Eve was spontaneously a little shaken. Dave was right that Gery's grandmother didn't seem to favor him even though he was her grandson. Instantly, her confidence rose again, and she dared to raise her chin with a little challenge toward Gery.

Meanwhile, Gery himself stared at Eve with a piercing gaze. He was furious and did not think Eve would dare to complain to her grandmother in her private room. I don't know if any other staff have ever been so reckless! Eve is different, she thought irritably. Moreover, he found that his grandmother's attitude made him cornered. That made him even more annoyed.

"How dare you come here, huh? Who told you to come here? Get out!" chased Gery, who did not want to hear the complaint of Mrs. Daphne. He became even more rude to Eve.

"Gary!" Mrs. Daphne spoke again, this time in a slightly higher tone.

"Oma, she's a badly attitude new employee whom I've even given a dismissal letter to--"

"What gives you the right to fire innocent staff, Gery? Is that your policy in leading the company, hm?" asked Mrs. Daphne then. Her face looked serious now. An idealist like her would not accept such injustice happening in front of her own eyes even if her lovely grandson did it.

"But, Grandma, she--"

"What? You both had a small problem elsewhere, which had nothing to do with work. So I hope you don't need to make a big deal out of it and fire her unilaterally like that, Gery." Mrs. Daphne interrupted her grandson.

Gery looked sharply at Eve as if blaming her for bringing the matter to his grandmother's attention. How brave she was!

"Grandma, her behavior doesn't reflect the typical behaviour of a good employee. I am sure she will return to being the person she was when i saw it, that annoying girl who likes to bother passers-by. How can my staff have such a bad attitude? No way!" Gerry protested against Mrs. Daphne's defense of the one-sided story. Eve had told the point that makes her sympathize and seem to be defending the girl.

Eve, who had been silent, immediately replied angrily. She did not care, even if interrupting the conversation between two superiors was insulting.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am. Please, consider whether it is right for me to be called a rude, unemployed woman in a place where I was on vacation with my friends? I wasn't even an employee at Vinestra at that time. How did I know he was the CEO here?"

"I understand, Miss Eve. Take it easy. Gery has a little business with me. Stay here, Gery. I have something to say to you about your attitude as a boss!" said Mrs. Daphne. Gery responded with a flabbergasted look as he felt humiliated by her grandmother in front of her arch rival, Eve.

Mrs. Daphne said, "And as for Miss Eve, please return to the room. Don't worry. No one will fire you for that little thing. I'll make sure of that."

Eve let out a long breath, full of gratitude.

"Thank you very much, Mrs. Daphne. You are very wise. Unlike your grandson," Eve responded with a snarky smile, deliberately challenging Gery.

The two young men and women exchanged glares as if they would be ready to kill each other if they were together, just both of them. Yes, they would be eternally hostile after that morning's incident.

Eve excused herself and returned to her office with great relief. Along the way, she smiled to herself for defeating a Gery, even though it had to be with the help of Mrs. Daphne.

Meanwhile, in Mrs. Daohne's room, Gery was scowling at his grandmother for defending the new employee rather than her grandson.

"What the hell was that? Why are you embarrassing me in front of a lowly employee, Grandma?" He protested fiercely. The temperamental young man girded his loins and put on a disappointed face.

"You're at fault for this, Gery. I am not defending him but standing up for what is right. That's all." Mrs. Daphne casually replied.

"What's right? You just don't know the girl yet. You don't see her behavior out there, Oma! Gery is sure that if you find out, you will regret defending her like that!" Gery said while still having an emotional tone.

"I am a very old person. I meet so many different people in my life, Gery. You can even tell how someone's personality is with just a short conversation. So you don't teach me what is good and bad." Mrs. Daphne sat back and sipped her drink again.

Gery sounded as if he was snorting and belittling his grandmother's words. Gery trusted that Eve was not as good a girl as his grandmother made her out to be. His grandmother was fooled by the image that the girl had managed to build up in one way or another at the beginning of their meeting.

"What a sneaky girl she is!" grumbled Gery as he fondly recalled the look on the face of the girl he was becoming increasingly hostile to. He was still determined to make her life miserable while working here, even though his grandmother guaranteed she would not be fired.

"There are many ways to get you out of here, silly girl. You'll see!" He cursed to himself as he drummed his fingers in annoyance.

"I warned you not to bother her again, Gery." Mrs. Daphne seemed to hear his grandson's inner voice.

"Oh, for goodness sake, Grandma. I won't do anything. But I'm just sure she'll reveal her true colors later. And you will regret keeping her!" Gery replied in a confident tone.

She then excused herself because there were many things to do regarding the post-meeting. After Gery left, Mrs. Daphne said to her assistant, "Find out more about the girl, Sofia."

The woman named Sofia nodded politely. She was Mrs. Daphne's mainstay. She could carry out any task without question and with perfect results. Yes, Sofia will find out if Eve is the right girl she is looking for many years later.

  • My Crush, My Boss   97. So Sorry

"Sorry, I'm sorry for being unable to be sensitive to your feelings. I'm sorry for making you jealous and hurt, Eve," Gery whispered softly. The two of them were still hugging, and the hug was even more potent when Gery whispered those words. Gery felt guilty. Even yesterday, he did not explain anything to Eve. However, what Eve saw earlier was partially true. Eve didn't see the incident until the end to come to that conclusion. When he felt Eve was calmer, Gery tried to release their embrace. The man looked profoundly and lovingly at Eve's nether regions. Eve was again made to blush because of Gery's sweet treatment. Eve then looked down, hiding her face that was flushed with embarrassment. Her hands also interlocked and twisted the hem of her shirt. Gery smiled slightly when he saw how shaky Eve's hands were. I don't know what made Eve so embarrassed. Gery didn't know. Either because of the sudden kiss he gave her or the words he had just said. But whatever it was, Gery felt happ

  • My Crush, My Boss   96. Cindy Take Action

"I can't stay silent. Eve is so poor. She looked so sad earlier. I have to do something right now!" broke up Cindy quickly."It's good that they've made my best friend hurt but don't feel the slightest bit guilty. And Gery is so insolent too! What a man!" Cindy grumbled. She really couldn't contain her annoyance anymore. She didn't want her best friend to be sad because of Gery or whoever it was. Even though Gery was Eve's lover, she was unwilling to let that man hurt Eve. Cindy would not remain silent if that happened.Cindy still remembered how puffy and red Eve's face was. Her words were so heartbreaking. It felt like her best friend looked really bad. Eve herself had gone home by now. That's why she dared to speak harshly and curse Eve's lover.Without waiting any longer, Cindy hurriedly exited her seat and headed for her car. Cindy drove her car at a moderate speed. After twenty minutes, the car finally arrived in front of a large company. The company where her best friend worked

  • My Crush, My Boss   95. Suppressing Wounds

On the way, precisely in Gery's car to the office, Eve was silent. Gery, who saw it, was a little surprised, but he didn't intend to ask. She thought that maybe Eve didn't want to talk. When they arrived at the office, Eve didn't make a sound. The beautiful woman left without saying goodbye to Gery, still sitting in the driving seat. "What's wrong with Eve? Why is she acting so different?" Gery wondered, but not for long. The man shook his head and went downstairs and into his room. In her room, Eve immediately sat down rudely in her work chair. Her heart ached. Her feelings were all over the place now. She also needed clarification about what had happened to herself even though she was the one who had agreed to Mrs. Andrews's request. However, now she felt regret.Actually, Eve didn't want Gery to realize her jealous attitude. However, somehow, it was tough for Eve to hide it. Even earlier, she avoided Gery. Eve herself actually knew that Gery was innocent. Because even that man did

It was all on Eve's initiative who wanted to visit and see how Cheryl was doing. As a fellow woman, Eve also felt very sorry for Cheryl, especially after learning that the beautiful woman who works as a model has received little attention from her parents. Eve's heart ached to hear that. Eve is currently preparing in her room. She deliberately did all her routines casually because Gery himself didn't mind if he had to wait for her. That's why Eve took advantage of it a little to relax. Her cell phone ringing made Eve put down the powder she was just about to put on. A little lazily, Eve picked up her cell phone. However, a second later, she smiled when she found out who was calling her. Without wasting time, Eve picked it up and spoke up. "Hello?" "Hello, Eve. Are you ready? I'll be there soon.
