Shelly agreed before grabbing my right arm and pulling me outside.
I frowned in confusion when we stopped in front of Ryder’s room.
Aubrey knocked on his bedroom door.
I heard some shuffling coming from the other side.
“What?” He shouted from behind the closed door.
“We are heading out.” Aubrey shouted back.
“Wait, I’m coming.” He yelled back.
After a while, the door flew open.
When his eyes met mine, I wanted to glance away but tensed up as I saw the way his eyes hardened while taking in my appearance.
“Eyes up here, you jerk.” Aubrey snapped her fingers in front of Ryder’s face.
Shelly giggled, her eyes shifting from Ryder’s face to mine.
He rolled his eyes at them before lifting my right hand up and placing something thin and rectangular onto my outstretched palm.
When his hands came into contact with mine, I immediately blush
Ryder’s point of view:The moment the girls left with Lea, I sighed before standing up.I cleared up the kitchen table and washed the dirty dishes.I could hear them giggling and talking but I could not make out what they were talking about when I got upstairs into my bedroom.I made up my bed as my mind flashed back to last night.I remembered rushing out of my bedroom once I heard her gut wrenching screams.I bursted into her room to find her thrashing around as she grabbed onto her hair. She was having a nightmare.I needed to wake her up. She was having a panic attack. It almost looked like she was having a seizure. She was having hard time breathing. She kept gasping for air.I tried shaking her awake but she kept on wailing and screaming at her father to stop.I felt a sudden need to calm her down. After a while of trying to wake her up, her eyes had snapped opened but sh
Ryder’s point of view:We were on our way back from puppy world. It was hard to select a puppy from all the different ones the old lady at puppy world had shown us.Michael might kill me if I got more than a puppy, so, I had to settle with only one, a purebred golden retriever. The drive back home was quiet. It was not as chaotic as it had been on our way to puppy world. Jake had been so talkative that by the time, we reached puppy world, I felt a slight headache.Only some adorable quiet squeaks filled the silence in the car.I glanced in the rearview mirror to find the puppy shifting slightly in excitement. I had positioned the crate well so that it wouldn’t bulge while I drive.Jake was upset. He wanted to sit back with the puppy.Instead of keeping the things that we bought in the trunk, I had scattered everything on the back seat beside the puppy so Jake wouldn’t be able to sit bac
Ryder’s point of view:“Do you want to eat pizza? I can order some.” I asked Jake.We haven’t had lunch yet and I was so damn hungry.“I can never refuse some free pizza.” Jake said with a smirk.“Yeah, your freeloader ass won’t let you!” I shook my head at him.He simply shrugged, sat down on the couch and lifted his legs up the coffee table as he leaned back.“Keep a watch on him.” I told him and fished my phone out of my right pocket.I walked into the kitchen to grab two water bottles while dialing up the pizza place.I called up Andiamo pizza place and ordered two large pizzas with meatballs, tomato sauce, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, peperoncini, parmesan and basil. It was Jake’s favorite. The first time we visited this place, Jake called dibs on the cheesiest pizza and they did get us the cheesiest one. Since then, Jake,
The puppy was sniffing at my feet and around us.I tried to pull away but Alex refused to let go of my arms.He screeched as the puppy tried to come close to his legs.“What the fuck, bro?” I swore but couldn’t help but let one corner of my mouth curl up in a half smile.“Don’t you dare fucking leave me here!” He whisper shouted.“Just follow me.” I snickered when his face turned pale.“No!” He exclaimed and held onto my arms.“You’re acting like such a kid right now.” I shook my head at him.“I’m not!” He huffed.“Move away from me then.” I raised an eyebrow at him daringly. He glanced over my right shoulder and arched an eyebrow as he crossed his arms over his chest. The moment he moved away, I stepped two to three steps back before walking inside the living room.I smirked when I heard him s
“Did you catch him?” I asked and walked further away from the kitchen. The guys shouldn't hear this.“No, I got the information that he had been going to the embassy nightclub on Saturdays. It was already too late by the time I reached there last week. I’m going back tonight.” He said.I clenched my teeth together and remained silent.“Listen, don’t tell the guys and don’t do anything about this, okay? Nick shouldn’t know that I’m here to find him. If Tom and his gang learn about this, they will definitely try to warn him.” Michael added.I gave a short nod before agreeing.I knew how reckless the guys could get.“How’s Lea?” He asked. My mind flashed back to last night. The nightmare almost had her out of breath. If I wasn’t half awake, I would have never heard her screams. She could have died from that panic at
I wanted to call Billy and ask him about this meeting but before I could, I heard a chirp by my feet.I glanced down and found the puppy staring up at me while wagging his tail. After feeding him some food, I carried him as well as his crate upstairs.I placed the crate in Lea’s bedroom and stroke his back.He squeaked happily and nuzzled his snout by my left elbow. The moment I heard the door bell ring, I knew it was the girls.I placed the puppy inside the crate and rushed downstairs.I opened the front door to find Lea and the girls waiting.I pulled Lea in and closed the door before Aubrey and Shelly could get inside. I was fed up with all the gossips they would talk about. I wanted some silence. The guys already made enough commotion while they were here. I would not be able to deal with the girls.“What the hell?” Aubrey punched the door from outside as she cursed out.“Open the door,
Lea’s point of view:Monday came faster than I expected. The girls had dropped by yesterday to choose my clothes for my first day at St-Xavier’s. They made it such a big deal that I felt even sicker to my stomach. I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me up.The feeling to disappear overpowered any other rational thoughts that were running though my mind. As if things could not get any worse, I had felt nauseous and my head had started aching.Ryder had saved me out of my misery. He prepared dinner so the moment he told the girls that dinner was ready, they had rushed downstairs. They were telling me how starved they were. Shelly had spent the entire day with Max at the hospital while Aubrey helped her mom with some stuffs around her garden. This morning though, I wore my black sweater over the top the girls had chosen. The sweater was not part of the outfit but my fingers itched to grab it and wear it. The ho
Ryder’s fists balled at his sides, the veins in his arms protruding and throbbing from the tension that soon enveloped the hallway.I glanced down at myself as I rubbed my arms. No matter how much I rubbed my arms though, the feeling of his hands on my skin won’t go away. Why did I take off my sweater? I should have never taken it off.I felt exposed.Right when I was trying to fit in, someone just had to spoil my efforts. The girls spoke to me earlier in one of the classes that we had together. They told me to try and be myself and that people here might not be like in my previous high school. They advised me not to pay any attention to the stares. That kind of behavior was normal faced to new students. When I felt hands touch me and pull me off the lockers, I jerked away from them. I hastily glanced up while trying to get away but the hands kept invading my personal space. It was Aubrey and Shelly but even then, I made an escap
