Charles was taken aback by the girl’s courage.

She seemed so innocent yet her words were too experienced.

Though he had less expectation of her coming from a club, admittedly, he found her a bit interesting but he quickly got rid of it.

“Please cut the thoughts,” Finally putting her restlessness to end, Charles answered calmly with a cold smirk.

She must stop hallucinating!

 He would never touch her!

She is out of his league.

But then, he found her cute with her timid look so he wanted to make fun out of her a little.

Emily looked at him with a questioning expression like she was not satisfied with his answer.

If not, then...

“It seems that you are disappointed, Ms. Greyson, are you?” His voice seemingly teased her more.

His eyes narrowed a little with a sexy smirk that could take her breath away.

Charles's handsome face and elegance were so distracting that she could hardly absorb his words.

“No! I am not!” When she finally understood Charles, she quickly answered defensively.

Her cheeks were boiling non-stop blaming her brain for the slow catch-up.

Charles felt like his ear canal was going to crack due to her shouting.

She was like a blinking doll controlled by a battery.

She kept on blinking her eyes in front of him and her cheeks were like red potatoes.

'Is she sick?'

Charles scowled slightly with his thoughts but maintained his elegance and noble temperament.

“Before anything else...” Charles paused and looked at her deeply.

His tone was serious and clear. “I don’t share any bed with any strangers and I don’t touch random girls most especially… a fan.” His eyes dug deeply into her like he wanted to implicate a very important message that she should not forget.

“Do I need to say more?” He didn’t need to finish his statement for Emily to understand what he meant.

Obviously, Charles had an explicit taste.

It was just right that he only liked women who shared the same status with him.

With her thoughts, she could not say that she was relieved that Charles was not going to touch her nor he would ever touch her.

If she could only be honest with herself, she would be more disappointed because, in this lifetime, her darling superstar would never like her as a woman what more... love her?

Emily felt a sudden pang in her heart as she could only shake her head to respond to him.

'What was I thinking?'

'How could I possibly expect that Charles, the super-rich, the superstar wanted to be with me?'

'That’s ridiculous, Emily!'

'Who are you, by the way?'

'You are just a club attendant who doesn’t have a mother and your own father kicked you out of your house and now struggling every day, living a very poor life.'

Realizing her real situation, Emily released a self-deprecating smile accepting her cruel fate.

Reality really hurts so bad!

She felt embarrassed with her outlandish thoughts.

So, if she had a wrong idea, then why did Charles bring her there?

Why did he suddenly show up in front of her tonight?

“Since we are clear on that matter, let’s get into business.” Until Charles formidably spoke with a serious demeanor.

Doubtful, Emily looked at the folder.

Using his slender index finger again, he gesticulated her to open it.

Full of curiosity, Emily opened the folder and her eyes quickly widened.

The bold letters written in all caps lock were readable enough for her.

EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT

Emily seemed to be struck by lightning.

She was offered to work for him.

Frowning deeply, Emily looked at Charles in disbelief.

Her expression formed a lot of silent questions.

“I want you to work for me, Ms. Greyson.” In a deep tone, Charles immediately announced.

Doubtful, she continued reading the contract however her mind was loaded with mixed emotions and the sudden situation she was in. She could not understand what she was reading and Charles noticed it immediately through her contempt eyes.

“I want you to be my brother’s servant.” Charles was running out of patience but he was also good at controlling it especially since it was him who badly needed something from her.

He never did this before but for his brother, he would behave accordingly.

“My younger brother can’t walk so he needed an attentive servant to cater to his important daily needs.” Charles continued with earnest eyes.

Emily looked at Charles.

She was still in a trance and doubtful if she was not trapped in her dream.

Then it suddenly appeared to her ...

Is he playing her?

Maybe rich people play with poor people’s emotions.

Do they?

“Why me?” She asked confused.

Her eyes were hypnotized again by his beautiful face.

They are the richest family.

How can they not afford a professional and skillful servant?

Her mind was troubled with that question and Charles immediately read her confusion.

Earlier...

Warren Adam, Charle’s younger brother called him.

It was a very rare opportunity after the death of their parents.

A car accident took their lives except for Warren who was left disabled.

Charles asked his manager/ assistant to cancel all his appointments for the day.

He felt satisfied with Warren’s sudden call.

Charles mourned and at the same time, he was bearing the guilt with what happened to his brother.

He was supposed to be in his place.

5 years ago, it was his grandmother’s death anniversary.

It was already a family tradition that they had to visit and commemorate her death in the cemetery.

Everybody was scheduled to go but then, she received a call from his manager, Carlos William.

It was a huge project from an international fashion brand owned by the first cousin of Carlos.

He was Charles’s childhood best friend and classmate in college.

He managed Charles's schedules well according to Charles’s interests.

That is why he was called Charle’s manager and at the same time, Charles’s assistant.

They had been together for so many years and Carlos was the only person who could tolerate and handle his temper.

At that time, Carlos asked him the only favor he could remember.

That was to take the photoshoots and become the endorser of a world-wide famous fashion company.

Carlos had committed to his first cousin that Charles would take the project and he did.

It was his way to pay back Carlos’s effort and patience for him, not the other way around.

That day, Charles planned to follow them after his photoshoot.

Charles clearly remembered that Warren asked to come with him but he insisted that he had to go with their parents and be his representative while he was away.

Grandma loved him and Warren so much when she was still alive.

The obedient brother easily agreed but he needed to bring him a box of sushi in exchange.

It was Warren’s favorite dish!

Charles nodded and messed up Warren’s hair before he entered into his own car.

Warren was a loving son and brother before but it changed tremendously after the accident.

He locked himself up in his room for a long time.

His bright character had long gone.

Like a sun that didn’t shine anymore.

Warren was very hard to deal with.

None of his servants could last for 1 week.

Everyone wanted to resign and flee away because of Warren’s bad temper.

Master Frederick Adam, their grandpa raised them.

Luckily, he was in a different car when the accident happened.

He was the one who called Charles and informed him about the tragedy.

Charles mourned and could not be found for a year.

He also turned off his world.

“Brother, that girl… that girl!” As they were inside a bar, Warren pressed the remote of his wheelchair and it moved toward the glass wall. His eyes sparkled watching the tall sexy woman outside.

“Look at that angel!” Warren’s eyes were fixated on her full of affection as the woman moved gracefully.

After a long time, Charles never saw Warren praise a girl like this.

Warren’s excitement was blaring all over him.

“Brother, before I die… Can you make her my wife? This is love at first sight, brother. Don’t you think?” Warren’s smile was full of life.

Charles just observed his brother and he was quietly satisfied.

For the longest time, Warren became happy again because of one girl.

A club attendant.

“Wait! Where is she going? Wait!” Warren suddenly panicked seeing the girl flee away.

He wanted to follow her.

Instinctively, he stood up and strode forward to chase her but then he quickly fell to the hard ground.

Charles was too late to catch Warren’s fall.

Warren’s face flustered with anger.

His eyes were killers.

He grasped on the floor, crawled near the table, and smashed all the glassware on it.

“AH!!!!” Warren's fuming scream suddenly echoed inside the room.

The loud shattering sounds continued.

Broken glasses and bottles were spread around violently along with their crushed pieces.

The room suddenly turned into a huge mess.

Charles sat calmly like a king on his throne unbothered by his brother’s tantrum.

He was used to Warren’s bad temper.

In his mansion, Warren did this almost every day.

Charles could only tolerate it because of his guilt for his brother.

When Warren calmed down, that was the only time Charles stood up and tapped Warren’s shoulder who was still sitting on the floor, head low and with clenched fists.

“If that girl is important to you, I will send her to you.” Charles's words were calm and plain.

After Warren had heard it, he smiled satisfyingly like he did nothing wrong a while ago.

“Let’s go!” Charles offered his hand to him.

Warren got it quickly and Charles led him to his wheelchair.

“Brother, promise me. She is mine and mine alone!” Warren said with a possessive tone.

Charles was pushing Warren’s wheelchair.

He could understand Warren’s possessiveness.

His therapist once told him that Warren became like this because he felt someone snatched his good life away from him.

Therefore, he wanted to have something that he could only possess.

And that someone was her!

Warren blamed Charles for what happened to his legs.

That was why their good relationship had become muddled.

“I promised,” Charles answered sincerely.

In the hope that his brother would get back to a happy-go-lucky guy, Charles swore to find the girl.

After Warren left with his driver, maids, and bodyguards, Charles went back to the room that was immediately cleaned up.

He shot a whiskey and sat elegantly.

Emerged in his deep thinking, someone knocked on the door.

Then his personal assistant strode inside assisting the manager of the club.

In just one snap of Charles’s fingers, he immediately gathered all Emily Greyson’s information.

“Why me, Charles?” Emily’s troubled voice suddenly cut Charles's thoughts.

He looked at her meeting her confused eyes.

‘Because my brother wants you and I am responsible for granting his wish.’

It was the honest answer in Charles’s mind but he could not tell her the truth.

She will definitely get scared and run away!

“Well, I saw you working earlier and I believe you are perfect for the job.” Charles lied.

Hearing praises from her darling superstar, Emily smiled happily with her eyes blinking carrying all the stars in the sky.

She seemed to suddenly forget all her messy thoughts earlier due to Charles’s praises.

“Your smile…” Charles already knew her answer.

“Is that a ....?” He was suddenly cut by her.

“YES!” She answered excitedly.

This girl was not challenging at all.

What did he expect from a club attendant?

But then, she was his brother’s type.

If not for his brother, he would never do it personally.

Not even to get close to this kind of girl!

After getting a positive answer, Charles smirked then he handed her a gold pen.

Without any moment of hesitation, Emily signed the contract immediately.

Charles smirked again seeing her signature affixed on the contract.

It was too easy for him to get her to agree.

He suddenly felt bored until she spoke.

“Can I start right now?” Emily asked.

  • My Darling Superstar   Perfect Match

The drive back to the Adam estate was quiet, but not the kind of silence that weighed. It was the kind that lingered after laughter, after kisses, after something real had been shared. Her lips still burned from his kiss.Charles glanced at her now and then, a soft smile tugging at his mouth. He looked different. Lighter. Like something inside him had finally exhaled. The sky was deep indigo by the time Charles and Emily returned to the Adam estate. The long driveway was bathed in soft golden light from the mansion’s sconces, and the air was cool, still carrying the scent of pine and distant rain. They stepped out of the car together, still in their matching couple shirts, still smiling like they had just returned from a secret honeymoon. Emily’s cheeks were flushed from the wind, her heart still warm from the waterfall, from his kiss, from the way he had looked at

Dust motes danced lazily in the air, and the ceiling fan spun in slow, sleepy circles above them.Emily stirred first. Her lashes fluttered open, and for a moment, she didn’t remember where she was. The bed beneath her was too firm, the sheets too plain, the air too still. But then she felt it—the steady rise and fall of a chest beneath her cheek. The warmth of an arm wrapped around her waist. The sky had deepened into a velvet navy by the time Charles and Emily were back on the road. The windows were down, letting in the cool night air, and the stars blinked faintly above them. The beach still clung to their skin—salt in their hair, sand between their toes—but neither of them seemed to mind.Emily leaned her head against the window, her eyes half-closed, a soft smile still playing on her lips.
