Chapter 2

What he called "giving her a ride" turned into a fixed daily routine.

Every morning,David would pick up Bella first,then come for me.

At first,Bella only took pictures in the passenger seat and recorded videos,showing off online that she was riding in a Maybach.

I could understand that.

She was young. A little vanity was normal.

What I couldn't understand was the way Bella looked at me every time I got into the car.

Her eyes were always filled with disgust and contempt.

As if I owed her millions of dollars.

A few times, after I sat down,she even sprayed perfume frantically in my direction and complained loudly,

"Seriously? How can such an expensive car always smell like cheap poverty?"

I thought she had actually noticed some strange odor.

So I specifically told David to take the car for a professional deep cleaning and disinfection.

But instead,Bella only became more extreme.

Sometimes,after I got out of the car,she would disinfect the seat where I had been sitting.

Other times,she would place disposable seat covers directly over my seat.

When I questioned David about it,he always gave me the same awkward explanation in private.

"Princess,Bella is just worried the car isn't clean enough and might get your clothes dirty. She's just being extra careful about hygiene."

I did not think too much about it.

After all,I had too many things to deal with every day.

Billions of dollars' worth of projects passed through my hands. I simply did not have the time or energy to argue with a young woman over something so trivial.

Until this morning.

When I saw the note stuck on my usual seat,I finally understood everything.

Bella had mistaken me for someone who was freeloading on her boyfriend's car.

At first,I planned to teach both David and Bella a lesson.

But David kept begging in front of me.

"Princess,I swear this will never happen again."

"I'll explain everything to Bella today. I promise I'll never bring her along again."

"Please forgive me this once because of my father."

Thinking of Thomas,I sighed.

"I won't pursue this."

"But this is the last time; remember your identity."

After the soldiers left,David let out a long breath of relief.

He thanked me repeatedly,his attitude becoming incredibly respectful.

I did not say anything else.

I got into the car and told him to drive me to the Family .

After that day,David really did behave himself for a while.

The car had been thoroughly cleaned, and every trace of the note had been removed.

He still drove steadily, and there were no problems with his driving.

The only thing he failed to do well was arriving on time.

Every single time, he had a different excuse.

"Princess, I'm sorry. There was an accident on the road, and traffic was backed up."

"Princess, I'm really sorry. My alarm did not go off, and I overslept."

"Princess, the pipes in my apartment burst. I had to deal with the situation with my downstairs neighbor, so I was late."

Although his excuses always sounded a little far-fetched, I did not press the issue because his attitude was still respectful.

I thought things would end there.

Until one weekend, when I suddenly decided to spend a few days at my countryside estate.

I called David.

"Where are you right now? I need to go somewhere. Come pick me up."

He hesitated for a long time before carefully replying,

"Princess… I discovered this morning that the car has a flat tire. It's currently being repaired. The mechanic said it won't be ready until tomorrow."

"Where are you planning to go? I can call a car for you instead."

I frowned, not wanting to make things complicated.

"Forget it. I'll take a taxi myself."

After hanging up, I called a taxi and headed to my estate.

But the moment I arrived at the entrance, I froze.

Because my Maybach was parked right outside my estate, perfectly intact.

I stared at the car for several seconds, confirming that it was indeed mine.

Then I immediately quickened my pace toward the entrance.

The door was slightly ajar.

I pushed it open.

And the moment I saw what was inside, I was completely stunned.
