“Carmen! You’ve got a call!” Octavia called just as I was about to disappear into the women’s restroom.

Oh, great. Of all times..why now?

“Coming!” I called back, turning around and hurrying toward my cubicle. The phone was ringing, and I snatched the receiver just in time.

“Thanks, Octavia,” I said quickly before pressing the button.

“Hello?”

“Meet me in my office,” Blake’s voice came through.

“Oh... okay. Give me a minute.” I hung up.

Fantastic. Guess the restroom will have to wait now I’ll be spending my break in the garden of power.

I took the elevator up to his office. The double doors slid open, and I stepped in to find Blake seated behind his desk.

“You called?” I asked, walking closer.

“Yes, Carmen. I wanted to discuss something with you. Have a seat,” he said, gesturing to the chair across from him.

I sat.

“We’re going to Korea tomorrow,” he said.

My face must’ve betrayed my shock, because he chuckled.
