Amelia's POV

He turned to Darcy, "Get the fuck out of here, we need privacy."

Darcy looked at me, with a raised eyebrow. I gestured for her to leave.

Darcy and Samantha never really liked Damian, and they didn't try to hide it. They were nice to him just because I begged them to. She closed the door behind her.

"My lawyer called me today. Your lawyer sent him the signed documents today, and I've been an acting manager for just one year. Why did you deceive me?" His nostrils flared.

"I should be asking you that same question. Why did you deceive me, Damian?" I stood up from my seat.

He stopped in front of my desk, "I'll ask again. Why the fuck did you deceive me?"

We maintained eye contact.

"Deceive? I didn't do that. I just made a decision. It's my company after all. I choose who to hire, and who to fire. Enjoy your one-year contract, Mr Hades. It may not be renewed." I sat down, and picked up my pen to continue working.

"I would like you to get out of my office, I need to work." My lips were in a tight smile.

He was about to say something when someone opened my door. It was Ivy, my younger sister, and Damian's fiancé.

Could this day get any worse?!

"Hi Sissy. Hi baby…" she shrieked. She was wearing a white shirt and a short blue skirt, with a pair of black heels. Her blonde hair was tied up in a ponytail.

She walked towards my desk with a half smile on her face. She dropped her black birkin bag on my table, and wrapped her arms around Damian's neck, drawing circles with her fingers.

Damian let out a low moan, as he wrapped his arms round my sister's waist.

I looked at them in utter shock and disbelief. What sick game were they playing? My blood boiled.

Well, if they wanted to give me a show, I might as well watch them.

I laid back on my seat, crossed my arms, and watched as they continued.

"I've missed you so much Baby," she whispered.

"After the good sex that we had last night, I'm hungry for more. I hope we can explore more positions today." Damian leaned in and captured her lips in a kiss.

I clenched, and clenched my fist in annoyance.

"You don't do well in bed though," I muttered. A chuckle left my lips.

Damian turned to me, "You weren't good in bed, don't blame me for your inability to have good sex." He chuckled.

Ivy spread her fingers on Damian's hair, showcasing the ring I picked for my engagement.

I was enraged, but I couldn't care less.

My parents started this. They had always given Ivy everything she wanted, even if it meant I got uncomfortable for her to be comfortable. I wouldn't be surprised that they knew about this from the beginning, and encouraged her. She always wanted to be in the spotlight, and throw me off anytime, anywhere. My parents always supported her.

She pulled Damian into another kiss.

That was it. I had enough of this nonsense.

I knocked on my desk twice, "Leave my office now, before I call the security."

They looked at me, with a smirk on their faces. Then they detached from each other.

Ivy arranged her clothes, and picked her bag from my table.

"I came because I didn't see you at my engagement party yesterday, after the stunt you pulled." She snorted. "You're my older sister, and I expected a gift from you. What happened? Was the event not to your liking?" She feigned concern.

"I had other important things to do. I couldn't stay, but I'll get you something." I smiled.

Darcy knocked twice, before she opened the door. She walked towards me in a hurry, "The new executive that bought major shares recently is here for the meeting. He came alone. Should I ask him to come in?" She whispered in my ear.

I nodded.

"If you would excuse me, I have a meeting right now." I stood up.

I looked up as the man walked into my office.

This day actually got worse.

A pair of beautiful hazel eyes stared at me.

The guy who made me feel alive yesterday, and screamed his name till I almost forgot mine.

He was wearing a custom-made corporate wear set from Ahava Royale, the most luxurious corporate wear brand.

I did some background research on that company when I was buying shares last year.

His navy blue shirt matched with his blue blazers, and his pair of black pants. His hair was styled perfectly, he had a small smile on his face.

It was Asher. He was the new executive.

Damian froze, he clenched and clenched his fingers. Something he did whenever he was tense.

"Uncle Asher?" Damian looked between him and me.

Asher is Damian's uncle?

"It's been awhile since I saw you, Damian." Asher smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. It was more like a forced smile.

I discreetly looked at the file in front of me. I hadn't gone through his file yet. I was going through the things we were meant to discuss.

Asher Sinclair. CEO and founder of Home.

"Mr Sinclair, welcome to Genesis holding company. Please have your seat." I gestured to him to sit on one of the couches.

"Mom and dad want you to be at the family dinner next weekend. It's dad's birthday, and we're going to be talking about my wedding. The date's been set." Ivy walked out with Damian following behind her.

"Have a nice day, Damian. I'll see you soon," Asher said.

"Yes sir. Have a great day too," Damian smiled, and closed the door behind him.

I took a deep breath before I walked to my table and took the documents I wanted to talk about.

My hands were sweating, as I remembered clips of last night. How he fumbled with my breast, and thrust inside of me.

I snapped out of it, trying to concentrate on arranging the documents on the glass table that separated us. I noticed he hadn't said a word. I looked up at him, he was staring at me.

I looked away quickly, my eyes were everywhere but on him. I could feel the heat rising from my neck.

"Thank you very much, Mr Sinclair, for trusting my company and investing five billion dollars. I'll be explaining different shares, and how we—"

"Why did you leave like that?" He cut me off.

"I saw the cash you dropped when I woke up this morning. Who was it for?" He smirked.

"Mr Sinclair —" I started.

"It's Asher. You were screaming it all night, so I highly doubt that you forgot the name."

"We're talking about business right now. Personal matters can be discussed later," I said.

He stood up, and sat beside me. He leaned in, his hand cupped my cheek as he caressed my face.

"Well, you're my business," he traced kisses on my neck.

As much as I wanted to pull away, I found myself leaning to his touch, with my fingers in his hair.

This was a sin, and I was willing to commit it.

Amelia’s POVValerie was in my chair. Not near it. Not leaning on the desk. In it. Spun halfway to the window, one leg crossed over the other, scrolling through something on my tablet. My office. The shock hit me in waves. First cold, then hot. My hand was still on the doorknob. Darcy was behind me in the hallway, frozen. “What the hell are you doing here?” The words came out before I could think. Valerie didn’t startle. She looked up slowly, like she’d been expecting me. “Amelia,” she said. My name in her mouth sounded amused. “You’re back early.” I let the door shut. The click was too loud. “How did you get in?” I tried to keep my voice even. Nice. Professional. “And why are you in my chair?” She set my tablet down. Carefully. “Ease up,” she said. “Security let me up. I told them I was family. Which, technically, I am.” Family. The word felt wrong in this room. She stood. The cream suit she was wearing caught the light from the window. She looked expensive. U

Amelia's POVEthan’s building smelled like rain and old coffee. I was just sitting in their living room while him and Sam looked dumbfounded to find me in their home by this time of the night. Ethan. He was in a gray t-shirt and sweatpants, hair messy, and his face went from sleepy to alarmed in about two seconds. “Amelia?” Behind him, Sam appeared in the kitchen doorway, holding a mug. She took one look at me and the mug hit the counter with a clink. “What are you doing here?” Sam said. “You’re supposed to be on your honeymoon. You’re supposed to be... married and happy.” The word married felt like a bruise. “I need to stay here tonight,” I said. My voice sounded small. Ethan stepped aside immediately. He didn’t ask questions. He just took my bag and looked at Sam. “I’ll give you two space,” he said. Then to me, softer: “I’m glad you’re okay.” My throat closed. I nodded. He went to the bedroom and shut the door. Sam and I sat in the living room for a beat. Th

Asher's POVI let her go. I stood at the door of the new house with my hands in my pockets and watched Amelia get into Ethan’s car. She didn’t look back. The door shut, and the taillights went red down the street, and then they were gone. The house was too big when it was empty. Too quiet. Every echo sounded like an accusation. I told myself it was the right thing. She needed space. She needed air that didn’t have me in it. After the phone. After the plane. After me telling Arjun about the text. “Clear your head,” I’d said. “I’ll be here when you’re ready.” She’d nodded once and walked out. I closed the door and leaned my forehead against it for exactly ten seconds. Then I straightened. Work. I needed work. My phone buzzed before I could pour a drink. Jordan. “You alive?” his text said. “Come over,” I replied. Twenty minutes later he was at my door with a file box under one arm and two bottles of whiskey in the other. “You look like shit,” he said by way of gre

Amelia’s POV“Stop the plane!” My voice came out too loud in the small cabin. It cracked on the second word. The pilot’s voice came back over the intercom, confused. “Mrs. Sinclair? We’re cleared. We’re rolling.” I could feel the jet moving. A slow roll forward. The windows showed tarmac blurring. “ASHE—” I started, and he was already standing. “Get the pilot,” he said, and his voice wasn’t calm anymore. It was command. “Now.” He moved to the cockpit door in three strides and banged on it. “Hold! Hold takeoff! This is Asher Sinclair!” I didn’t hear the answer. My phone buzzed again in my hand. _GET OFF. NOW. IT’S GOING TO BLOW._ The words were shaking on the screen. Or maybe my hands were. “I don’t know how I know,” I said to Asher, and I hated how desperate I sounded. “But we have to get off. Right now.” He turned from the cockpit door. His face was all sharp lines. Fear. Calculation. “Amelia, talk to me. What did the text say?” I held it out. He read it.

Amelia’s POVThe hallway outside our suite was too quiet. The kind of quiet that only happens in expensive hotels right before checkout. Housekeeping carts down the hall. The faint ding of the elevator. Our suitcases lined up by the door like soldiers waiting for orders. My hand was still shaking. I had still been starring at my phone. He took it from me. His fingers were warm, but they didn’t linger on mine the way they had three seconds ago. He read it. Once. His jaw did that small tick it does when he’s thinking. He read it again, slower. “Okay,” he said finally. His voice was even. Too even. “Okay. We need to talk about this.” I crossed my arms. The cream dress I’d worn suddenly felt wrong. Too soft. Too much like the woman he’d tried to keep calm for three days. “Talk about what?” I asked. “That someone knows something? That we might actually get something on them this time?” Asher set the phone down on the console table. Carefully. Like it might explode. “I’m

Amelia's POVThe hotel room smelled like white lilies and cold air-conditioning. I stood by the window with my phone in both hands, staring at the screen until the letters blurred. Killian. Gone. The door to the bathroom opened. Steam rolled out, and then Asher. He had a towel around his waist and water still running down his collarbone. He took one look at me and all the ease left his face. “Amelia?” His voice was low. Careful. He set the phone down on the dresser very slowly. Then he pulled me into his arms. “Hey,” he murmured into my hair. “Hey, breathe with me.” “We need to go home,” I said, and my voice came out thin, cracked. “Right now. I need to fly back home.” “Okay,” he said. “Okay. We’ll figure it out.” “No, Asher. Now. Tonight. There’s a flight at—” “Amelia, look at me.” He pulled back just enough to frame my face with both hands. His thumbs brushed under my eyes. I hadn’t realized I was crying. “Going back right now isn’t going to change anything
