Chapter 41 Is That Child Yours

Griffith walked to the door calmly. Charlotte was surprised that he did not argue with her. Then she remembered the rumors about him having a child with Katie Hussey. He knew there was no problem with him, so he did not care about this ironic remark.

Griffith opened the door, and Helen came in carrying a bunch of medicine pills.

"Madam, it's time for your medication," she said.

Charlotte frowned at seeing a tray of pills she had to take and shook her head. "Do I really need to take a bunch of pills?"

"It's the doctor's order," Griffith said rather impatiently.

Unwillingly, Charlotte took the pills and swallowed them one by one. Some of the pills were huge and difficult to swallow. It took her several attempts to get them down. By the time she had finished consuming the pills, her stomach was fully bloated with water.

As soon as she was done, Griffith asked, "How the heck did you spend 300,000 dollars that day?"

Charlotte feigned calm and replied, "I bought a few bottles of wine.
