-Two Days Later-

-KATE WHITE BUILDING-

“We have been able to sign a deal with the Rhodes Artistry few days ago, why do we need to withdraw from the award? We have been nominated, right?” Kate asked, she’s in a meeting with the organizers of the upcoming award.

Mr Lett, the coordinator of the award, let out a sigh. “It’s true you signed a partnership agreement with the Rhodes but the public haven’t heard about it. I suggest, you announce it,” He suggested.

Kate nod in affirmation, “Okay, I will set up a conference meeting now. I will announce our partnership…is that all it takes?” Kate said already signifying Claudia to contact the media for a conference.

“I think it would be best if you let Lucas Rhodes announce it himself,” Mr lett added, Kate face changed instantly.

“What do you mean? Why him?” She asked.

“I believe in you, Ms. White but the public would only say we allowed you to be in the award through nepotism. It’s only best if they Lucas, whom they had trust in announce it,” He declared then showing her the nomination post on the company’s social media account.

“See, look at the type of comment these people are throwing in after we announced the nominations.” Mr Lett scroll through the comments.

‘Kate white doesn’t deserve the nomination! That’s nepotism!’

‘Kate should not enter the awards because of her money!’

‘She just came…and she’s nominated? Who can vouch for her?’

The comments read.

Kate swallowed hard, “These comments are horrible,” She commented.

“Exactly, this is why Lucas needs to announce it himself,” Mr Lett entreated. “I will take my leave now. I hope it’s resolved before the end of this week, have a nice day.” With that Mr Lett walked away.

Kate shut her eyes, rubbing her temple. “Have you called Mr Rhodes? Inform him about this and see if he would be willing to announce it this week,” she whispered to Claudia.

“He’s out of office. He-”

“Out of office? Tsk.” Kate jeered, her eyes doing the work.

“What’s my schedule?” Kate grumbled.

“You’re meeting with the designers for the new sketch designs and then you’re meeting Ms. Ivy Hart.”

Kate let out a relived sigh, “Finally! I’m meeting my best friend!” She exclaimed.

Ivy stayed at the bus park, “Why is no cab coming? Damn it!” Ivy pouted looking around if she would see any cab coming her way.

She checked her phone and it’s almost 3pm. Her fingers ran into her hair in frustration. She dressed up to finally meet Kate and now the cabs are messing up.

The all of a sudden a car came out of nowhere and made a speed run, since the rain just fell like an hour ago, the road was still damp so the abrupt speed made the damp water splashed on Ivy’s white dress.

She froze on her spot as she looked at the dress, “What the hell?!” She screamed, looking at the car like she’s about to tear it apart.

The car stopped, lowered the window and threw out some cash then zoomed off immediately.

Ivy scoffed, “Did..did he just zoomed off without an apology?” She widened her eyes. She went to where he threw the cash and picked everything up.

“You’re so dead, just pray we don’t cross paths again,” Ivy mutters under her breathe and kept the money into her bag. “I should buy new clothes,” She said and cross to the other street to get new clothes.

What the driver didn’t know is that Ivy already crammed he/she’s plate number. “Pray I don’t see you ever again,”Ivy said.

Finally, Ivy arrived at Kate’s office after hours of waiting for a cab. “Wow! It’s as beautiful as she described. My friend owns this place….” Ivy exclaimed.

Ever since Elena left, she hasn’t been in touch with her but as soon as Kate returned, she requested they both see.

She walked into the building, she was lost in the beauty when she bumped into someone.

If she had only bumped into someone, would it have been better? She bumped into the person’s coffee, splashing into her new dress. White again.

Can today get any better? “What the hell?!” She screamed out her lungs.

She looked at the person, he was putting on a sunglasses but Ivy could read his expression well. “Why are you so blind, look where you’re going, girl,” The guy blurted out.

‘Girl?’

Ivy felt like giving him a slap across his face but she kept her cool. “You ruined my dress, you should apologize,” she simply said but the guy rolled his eyes and toss his business card to her.

“I have no cash with me, call my line. I will transfer money for the dress..” He simply said and walked away.

Ivy scoffed and breathed out. “Thank your God that I’m in my best mood today…oh, lord knows this place was going to be torn apart,” Ivy mumbled then pulled out her phone.

Ivy texted Kate and told her she would be coming in the evening, she left the building.

Kate face dropped after she checked the message. Then a knock came on the door, “Ma’am, Mr Lucas is here,” Claudia announced.

Kate rolled her eyes, ‘He’s always here.’

Lucas came in. “Good afternoon, Ms. Kate.” Lucas waved dropping a cup of coffee.

“We have been trying to reach you Mr Lucas,” Kate said and Lucas shrugs his shoulders.

“I heard and that’s why I came myself,” Lucas told her…it was meant to be a joke but Kate wasn’t finding it funny.

“It seems you have a lot of free time on your hand,” Kate said.

“Yes. Which makes me want to invite you to my family dinner tomorrow night. The Rhodes would like to meet their new partner,” Lucas offered.

Kate scoffed. “You might have a lot of time but I’m a very busy woman. I have plans tomorrow, I can’t come ,” Kate attested.

Lucas sighed. “I have no choice then…I have to go through the hard lane.” He drawled.

Kate raised an eyebrow..

“I heard I have to announce the partnership for your nomination to stay afloat?” Lucas suddenly mentioned.

“What if I tell you I will only do that if you come to the dinner party?” Lucas said.

Kate raised an eyebrow, “Mr Lucas…are you blackmailing me?”

“Choose and it’s no longer a blackmail…rather an agreement.”

Kate gritted her teeth, “Not only are you annoying but also cunny,” Kate muttered but it was enough for Lucas to catch.

He let out a smirk, “I will take that as a yes,”
