72: Empty Pockets

WINTER:

One second Calcifer was almost touching my face and another second, he was far away from me.

I blinked a couple of times and then I heard a growl.

"You're threatening her," Hawk declared and he put me on his back.

I shook my head. If I don't stop this, they will continue fighting until we go home.

Stepping away from Hawk, I muttered, “Calcifer, I'm sure Liam is already waiting for us. Will you stop fighting with Hawk?"

"I'm not fighting with him, Pumpkin. He is the one who’s starting the fight. You can see it for yourself, too."

The way I see it, Hawk was only doing his job to protect me.

"You are the one who is starting the fight, Calcifer,” I insisted. I massaged my temple. “Here's the thing. You promised to do anything for me today. Will you please stop fighting with my bodyguard? It's no longer funny, Calcifer."
