Hot Chase

Mia couldn’t contain herself. She was hurt by Claus’s words. He was right and that pained her the most. She responded with a resounding slap on Claus’s cheek.

“Mia?” Claus called out. His eyes filled with a mixture of anger and shock. He didn’t see that coming. He walked away from Mia and groaned quietly, trying to hide his anger.

Mia realized the gravity of what she had done. Remorse flushed through her vein immediately. A few people began to notice them. Panic runs through Mia.

Claus noticed the crowd gathering. Still angry, he walked back to Mia.

“Listen, Mia, we're both under a lot of pressure here. Emotions are running high, but we can't afford to draw attention to ourselves. Let’s get out of here, please.”

Mia, now seething with fear with the number of prying eyes around, nodded reluctantly.
