Chapter 2

At the wedding venue, it was truly every woman’s dream to have such a grand and beautiful wedding. They all looked envious when Ella’s car arrived and packed right at the end of the red carpet.

After everything she heard in the car, Ella had requested to ride alone. She did not care about what happened to the two bitches as she had left them stranded on the road.

She had wanted to run away and disappear but remembering the man’s cold warning, and the fact that there was nowhere she would hide that he will never find her, she gritted her teeth and decided to play along.

She was also afraid that her grandfather might be disappointed in her and although her heart was hurting like hell, she had no choice but to show up.

“Are you okay?” The stylist asked with concern. She heard everything that Kate and her sister talked about and saying that she was shocked was an understatement.

After all, no woman would be happy after realizing that the man she had dedicated her life to, was a total scumbag. She could tell that Ella really loved that man and that was why she was so hurt.

“I will be okay. It's just that I cannot breathe with all the pain that I am feeling. I feel like the more I stay in this dress, the more my life is being sacked away.”

“Then why don’t you tell Old Master Edmond what is going on? That woman will be here, and that is irrefutable evidence that his grandson has been cheating on you all along. I am sure he will understand and he will be able to help you.”

“No, I cannot do that. I don’t want to break my grandfather’s heart. He has been too excited, and he has been looking forward the most to this day. I don’t want to disappoint him.” Ella shook her head.

The last person she wanted to hurt was that man. She owed him her life and the least she could do was make his dream come true.

Even though she knew that the old man would definitely stand up for her and punish that cheater, he would be heartbroken and disappointed, and she did not want to see that happen. She would better suffer than see her grandfather live in the pain of knowing that, his grandson was not the man he thought he was.

After calming down, Ella alighted from the car holding a huge bouquet of peach blossom. They were her favorite flowers and paired with her custom-made wedding dress, she looked like a proper bride.

“Wow, I have always thought that this woman was beneath Master Edmond, who would have thought that she would be this beautiful on her wedding day?”

“Yeah, everyone has always disdained her, but I have to admit that she looks nothing like that little woman who used to follow Daniel around as if she was his foot accessory.”

“This is the most perfect wedding I have attended, and I don’t think that there would be anyone of a kind in the near future.”

Everyone marveled when they saw Ella. They were shocked at how charismatic she was, and how classy she was looking in the long wedding dress.

The socialites who had looked down on her had nothing to say at the moment. This woman’s beauty was out of this world.

Old Master Edmond was probably the happiest after seeing Ella. That could be seen by the huge smile that was plastered on his face. Finally… finally… his stubborn grandson was going to get married.

The only person that maintained a cold and indifferent expression was Daniel. He only sent Ella a warning glare, telling her not to do anything silly. Or to reveal anything that should not be revealed.

Ella stood at the end of the red carpet and only started walking slowly when the lovely wedding tune started to play. Her face was pale and her eyes were lifeless. She was glad that she was wearing a veil as it was able to hide away her pain.

With every step she took, she felt the energy in her body dwindle. It was like she was climbing the impossible Mount Everest as her legs became heavy and heavy.

Besides that, she had to smile happily as she looked at the man who was upfront. in her dream, this must have been the happiest day of her life, but reality had hit her hard like a tornado. She did not dare imagine what will become of her after she leaves this place.

She did not even know where she will be staying.

With all the confused thoughts racing through her mind, Ella finally reached the altar. Her back was covered in a cold sweat as if she has just finished running a ten kilometers cross-country race.

“Daniel Edmond, do you take Ella Smith as your lawful wife, to love and to hold until death do us part?”

The priest recited the vows and the man did not hesitate to answer in his emotionless voice, “Yes I do.”

“Ella Smith, do you take Daniel Edmond as your lawfully wedded husband, to love and to hold until death do us part?”

Ella looked at the man with her eyes glistening with tears. She honestly did not know what to say because the words seemed to have been stuck in her throat.

It was only after she received Daniel’s threatening gaze that she reluctantly nodded her head, “Yes I do.” She said in a choked voice.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife, Master Edmond, you may kiss the bride.” The priest declared.

The room was filled with a round of applause as the priest said his concluding remark.

“Kiss the bride, kiss the bride.” The crowd shouted.

Ella looked at the man and she was sure that he was not going to kiss her, given how she was so disgusting to him. He had his sweetheart waiting for him to kiss her, how could he kiss her, the disgusting sl*t that has been clinging to him?

Daniel looked at the face that he loathed and his face darkened when he heard everyone shouting. Although he was disgusted by the thought of locking lips with this bi*ch, he did not have a choice since he had to make their act convincing enough for his grandfather’s sake.

He lifted the veil in her face only to find the woman’s face covered in tears. He was startled and for a moment, he did not know what to do. But it was only for a split second before he leaned his head and lightly kissed her on the lips.

Her tears had nothing to do with him. Maybe she was just too excited that her dream was finally coming true.

Ella widened her eyes in shock when she realized what the man was doing. Was he actually going to kiss her?

Before her brain could process anything, she felt a light peck on her lips and the fireworks in her head went off with a loud ‘boom!’

Daniel had actually kissed her?

Her heart skipped a beat and she was excited. Her pale face turned a tad red but before she could enjoy the moment, a cold voice was heard in her ear, making her body turn stiff as if it had been hit by lightning from the words that she heard.

“Don’t be too excited, this is just for show.”
