Haley’s POV:

The sun had begun to dip lower, painting the sky in pale gold and soft pink. Lily was still in the water, practicing her kicks with Sebastian close by, while Jordan sat beside me, tossing small pebbles into the waves.

Sebastian glanced toward the shore, one arm up to block the sun. “You know,” he called out, “I brought a few things for a barbecue. Thought we could make a little lunch here.”

I blinked in surprise. “You did?”

He nodded, a faint grin on his face. “Burgers, some chicken skewers… and I’ve got a cooler full of drinks.”

Jordan’s face lit up immediately. “We should, Mom! Please? It’s been forever since we all ate together.”

I hesitated, looking between them. I hadn’t exactly planned to turn this into a family outing… but when I saw the way Jordan’s eyes shone, I couldn’t say no. It had been a while since I

Sebastian’s POV:The sun was dipping low when we pulled into the driveway, the salt still clinging to my skin. Jordan was laughing in the backseat with Lily about some dumb joke from earlier, while I was still half in my head about how… easy the day had felt. Haley’s laugh had been softer than I remembered, her smile unguarded when she looked at Jordan. It had been… nice. Too nice.We stepped inside, the cool air of the apartment greeting us. Susan’s heels clicked on the hardwood before I even saw her. She was home early, wearing a fitted black dress and an expression that didn’t give away much.“You’re back,” she said, her eyes darting briefly to Lily. “Where’d you all go?”Before I could open my mouth, Jordan beat me to it.“We went to the beach!” he said, kicking off his sneakers with zero awareness of the storm he was about to unleash. “Lily swam

  • My Ex-husband And Son Wants Me Back After Divorce   Chapter 128 My own person.

Haley’s POV:The afternoon sun was warm but gentle, the kind that made the water sparkle like a sheet of glass scattered with diamonds. Lily was knee-deep in the water, holding her arms out as tiny waves lapped against her legs.I stayed close to the shore, watching her. She had been taking swimming lessons for a while, but she still wasn’t confident in deep water. She could float, kick, and paddle well enough in the shallow end, but the moment her feet couldn’t touch the bottom, panic always took over.Sebastian noticed too. He stood beside me, his feet sinking slightly into the wet sand, his eyes on Lily. “She’s good,” he said, “but she’s hesitating.”I glanced at him. “Yeah, she freezes up in the deeper section even in pool.”“Mind if I try helping her?” he asked. His tone wasn’t pushy — just matter-of-fact, like he’d already made up his mind to give her a boost if she’d let him.I hesitated, then nodded slowly. “Let’s ask her first.”We walked closer, the water cooling our feet. “

Haley’s POV:I sat on the edge of the bed, phone in hand, staring at the message I’d just typed. My thumbs hovered over the screen for a second before pressing send. How’s my mom?The reply came a minute later from Peter. She’s stable, Haley. The surgery went well. But she’s still weak. Needs at least a week of rest before she can handle too many visitors.I exhaled, some of the tension in my chest loosening. Still, a dull worry remained. Is she in pain? I typed.Peter replied almost immediately.Minimal. But her mood isn’t great. I think she’s feeling a bit down.I closed my eyes for a moment. “That’s exactly what I was afraid of,” I muttered under my breath.Logan came out of the bathroom, towel draped over his neck. His hair was damp, messy from the quick rub with the towel. He noticed my expression right away.“What did Peter say?” he asked.I put my phone down. “She’s stable. Surgery went well. But she needs more time… maybe a week before visitors. And—Peter said she’s not in the

Haley’s POV:The sound of Susan’s voice cut through the noise of the street.“Help me!” she shouted, her voice high and panicked.Logan’s head turned instantly. I followed his gaze and saw her. The man had caught up to her and now Susan was struggling in the grip of a man whose hand was clamped hard around her arm. His face was half-hidden in shadow, but I could see the ugly set of his jaw and the way he leaned toward her like he owned her.“Stay here,” Logan murmured in my ear, his voice low, tight. His arm around my waist tightened. “Don’t move.”The man looked up and saw us watching. His lip curled into a sneer. “Mind your own business.”Logan stepped forward. “Let her go.”“She’s fine,” the man said, gripping Susan’s arm even tighter. She winced, trying to pull back.“Does she look fine to you?” Logan’s voice was calm but sharp, each word clipped. The man’s eyes narrowed. “Walk away. This isn’t your problem.”Logan’s tone didn’t change. “Last chance.”The man gave a mocking laugh.

  • My Ex-husband And Son Wants Me Back After Divorce   Chapter 125 Bribing my people

Haley's POV:Logan’s shadow fell over me before I even saw him. I felt the familiar heat of his presence before I heard him speak. Warm hands slid around my waist, firm but gentle, pulling me back until I was pressed against the solid wall of his chest. His cologne — that faint mix of cedar and something darker — curled through my senses, and I had to steady my breath.“What’s going on here?” he asked, his voice low and teasing, eyes flicking between me and my team.I didn’t have time to answer because, without warning, he tilted my chin up and kissed me.Not a polite peck. Not a quick brush. This was a claim. His mouth moved against mine with a slow, deliberate pressure that made my toes curl in my heels. His lips were warm, coaxing, yet demanding, tasting faintly of the wine he’d been drinking. I could feel his heartbeat, steady and unhurried, as if he had all the time in the world to kiss me like this — and he was going to use every second. When he deepened it, his hand slid up my
