The morning light streamed in through the curtains, but I hadn’t moved from the couch. My phone lay on the coffee table, lit up with notifications—messages, emails, and worse… more gossip articles.

Another headline called me a seductress. Another used the word “homewrecker.” One even mocked that I should teach a class on pleasing men. They shared blurry pictures from Logan’s office—the kind that shouldn’t have been taken. And worse, photos of me with Mr. Han during Lily’s lesson. Photos taken at the exact moment he had guided my arm or touched my waist for a stance. Photos that looked… wrong.

My phone rang again. I picked it up, ready to ignore it—until I saw the name.

Mom.

I answered quickly. “Hi.”

Her voice came through, gentle but concerned. “Haley, are you okay?”

I hesitated. “Yeah. I’m okay.”

“You saw the reports?” she asked softly.

I closed my eyes for a second. “Yes.”

There was a long pause. “You don’t deserve this, Haley. You didn’t do anything wrong.”

“I know,” I whispered.

The night was quiet as I sat beside Lily’s bed.Her chest rose and fell gently, her arms wrapped around her favorite stuffed bunny. The light from the hallway spilled softly across her cheek, casting warm shadows across her delicate features. My heart ached. I kept seeing the water—the pool, her tiny figure slipping beneath the surface. The chaos. The shouting. The sting on my cheek where Susan had slapped me. The looks from strangers.I reached out, brushing Lily’s hair back from her forehead. “I’m so sorry, baby,” I whispered. “I brought you into this mess.”Behind me, the door opened quietly.Logan stepped into the room, his suit jacket folded neatly over his arm. His shirt was wrinkled, the sleeves pushed up. His eyes looked tired but calm. He didn’t say anything at first. He just moved to the rocking chair beside me and sat down slowly.“She’s okay,” he said gently.

“Lily!” someone shouted.Logan’s voice broke through the noise like thunder.I turned, heart in my throat, and saw her—tiny, helpless—sinking under the water in the pool at the edge of the ballroom.“Lily!” I screamed.Logan ran like lightning, his jacket flying behind him. He jumped in without a second thought. Water splashed everywhere.I followed, stumbling in my heels, hands shaking. Everything else faded—the music, the people, even the shame from earlier.“Move!” I shouted, pushing past people. “Get out of the way!”Logan lifted Lily out of the water. Her little arms clung to his neck. She was coughing, crying. Wet and scared.“She’s okay,” Logan whispered, holding her tightly. “She’s breathing.”“Oh, thank God,” I gasped, dropping to my knees beside them. I reached out, brushing Lily’s wet h

I had never been to my ex-husband’s engagement party before.Well, I never thought I’d ever have to go to one.But there I was, standing beside Logan, holding his arm gently, dressed in a soft ivory gown that hugged my waist and flowed down to the floor. My hair was curled and pinned up with little pearl pins. Simple, elegant. Like I wanted to disappear into the background but still be polite.Logan wore a tailored black suit with a grey shirt underneath. No tie. He looked calm, but his hand never left the small of my back.“You okay?” he whispered near my ear as we stepped inside.“I’m fine,” I said, offering a small smile. “Just… strange being here.”He nodded. “We’ll stay for a bit, then leave. Just let me know.”The venue was a grand hotel ballroom. Soft yellow lights. Classical music playing. Servers moving around with drinks. I spotted Sebastian almos

The wind had turned cold as I stood up from the swing. The park was quiet now. Jordan had already left with Sebastian. I thought that was the end of it.But it wasn’t.I heard footsteps behind me and turned.Sebastian.Again.“What now?” I asked, crossing my arms.He looked tense. Out of breath. His eyes full of something I didn’t want to see.“I didn’t mean to leave like that,” he said.“Jordan already went with you. You should go with him.”He didn’t answer. Before I could say another word, he leaned in and kissed me.It wasn’t soft.It wasn’t kind.It was desperate. And completely unwanted. For a second, my body froze in shock. Then, anger surged through me. I shoved him back, hard. My palm connected with his cheek in a loud slap that echoed in the empty park.“What the hell is wrong wi

After dinner, I tucked Lily into bed. She snuggled her teddy bear, yawning sleepily. “Aunt Haley?”“Yes, sweetheart?”She bit her lip. “If Jordan becomes my… something, can I still call him my friend?”I blinked, surprised. “What do you mean, something?”She looked at Logan nervously, then back at me. “You’re Jordan’s mommy… and you live with us now and also about my Mom getting married to Jordan's Dad..." She looked confused.I smiled softly and stroked her hair. “Of course, baby. Even if Susan marries Sebastian, that won’t change your friendship with Jordan. You’ll always be free to be friends.”"So does that mean Jordan is my brother now? Like… real family?”I nodded gently. “If Logan and I get married someday, it will definitely change your relationship. I am sorry, I know this is too complicated for you.”Lily’s face scrunched up, "It's fine as long as you are happy with my daddy."Her words made me smile and I kissed her forehead, "Goodnight." I whispered and Lily closed her eye

I stood beside Logan at the entrance, my fingers resting lightly in his hand.It wasn’t until I spotted Sebastian across the hall that I hesitated. He was standing near the reception, speaking with one of Logan’s assistants. The moment his eyes met ours, they dipped down to our intertwined hands. He paused—just for a second—and then looked away like he hadn’t noticed anything at all.I turned to Logan quickly, lowering my voice. “Sebastian?”Logan gave a small nod, his expression unreadable. “He wants to collaborate.”“Collaborate?” I blinked. “Since when?”“Just came up this morning,” Logan said calmly. “I’ll explain later.”I narrowed my eyes slightly, unconvinced. “You’re just going to pretend it’s normal that he shows up out of nowhere wanting to work with you?”“Business is business,” Logan replied. “His company’s in trouble. He needs someone with stable footing. That someone just happens to be me.”I bit my lip. “Still feels weird.”Logan gently squeezed my hand. “Don’t overthin
