Olivia's Pov

As the afternoon dragged on, the silence from Ethan grew completely agonizing.

By noon, I was practically vibrating with panic. I had tried calling his personal line three times, but it went straight to voicemail every single time. The only response I received was a brief, detached text message at 1:30 PM:

“Busy with counsel. I will contact you if anything comes up.”

He didn't give me a single update on the stolen sketches, or the lawsuit. I was left entirely in the dark.

  • My Ex-husband Knelt Too Late    Come Over

Olivia's Pov The shock of finding Ethan elbow-deep in my personal handbag hit me like a bucket of ice water.I froze in the doorway, my bare skin suddenly feeling intensely exposed. "What..." I gasped, my voice sharp and demanding. "...are you doing with my bag?!"Ethan jerked upright so fast he nearly knocked over the vanity chair, his grey eyes going wide with alarm. "Olivia—!""No, what's going on?!" I cut him off, crossing my arms defensively over my chest as I glared at him. "Why were you going through my things? Who are you looking for?!”Ethan stared at me, his gaze dropping momentarily before he blinked and blurted out, "Olivia... you're naked."The words took a second to register. I looked down at myself, realizing I was standing in the doorway entirely unprotected, holding nothing but a hand towel. A hot flush rushed up my neck and face.I let out a mortified, half-choked shriek, spun around on my heel, and bolted straight back into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behi

  • My Ex-husband Knelt Too Late    New love

**Anna’s POV**Anthony’s deep, hoarse voice echoed down the mahogany table, dry enough to break the silence of the conference room. For an endless moment, my heart hammered against my ribs like a trapped bird. Panic surged through my veins, but seven years of survival had taught me how to keep my composure. I clutched my leather portfolio so tightly my knuckles turned white, meeting his gaze without letting my expression crack."With all due respect, Director Vance, my personal life is not up for discussion here. There is a clear boundary between business and my private life, and I intend for us to respect it."Anthony furrowed his dark brows. His broad shoulders tightened, and his gaze grew more piercing."You still haven't answered my question.""Because it has nothing to do with work.""You have a son, Anna. Surely you don't expect me to act like I didn't hear that?"I felt my stomach knot, but I refused to look down."I have answered your questions regarding the transition files.

  • My Ex-husband Knelt Too Late    A New Friend

The blunt, dangerous question hung heavy in the air, echoing off the car windows as we sat trapped at the red light.*Do you like her?*For a second, my foot nearly slipped off the brake. The sheer shock of it hit me like a physical blow, snapping me out of the dark, defensive trance I had been trapped in all evening."What the hell are you talking about?" I blurted out, my voice laced with absolute disbelief as I turned to stare at her. "How on earth could you even think I like her?"Olivia crossed her arms, holding my gaze through the dim cabin light. "You've just been acting completely weird around her. This is literally the first time I've ever seen you react like this to someone, Ethan. So naturally, I'm wondering if there's some kind of history there, or if there's a problem."I let out a harsh, dry scoff, shaking my head. "It's not that. And it could *never* be that."Inside my head, my mind was racing in frantic circles, trying to map an escape route. *How am I supposed to eva

The air in the private VIP dining room felt completely sucked out of space.I stood there, my hand still stinging from the force of the slap I had just delivered, staring wide-eyed at Ethan. The raw, dangerous fury burning in his grey eyes made my blood run instantly cold."What the hell..." Ethan's voice dropped into a low, lethal growl that rattled my bones. "...is going on here?"Panic instantly spiked through my chest. *He heard everything.* Or at least, enough of it to know things had gone entirely off the rails.I scrambled to find my voice, my heart hammering like a trapped bird against my ribs. "Ethan—what are *you* doing here? I thought you went home!"Instead of answering, Ethan's gaze snapped straight to Evelyn, who was currently straightening her ruined dress, her cheek still red and swollen from my handprint."I asked you a question," Ethan repeated, stepping past me into the room, his voice dangerously quiet. He locked eyes with Evelyn. "What business do you have with he

  • My Ex-husband Knelt Too Late    What the Hell

Olivia’s PovThe heavy mahogany door clicked shut behind me as I stepped into the private VIP dining room, expecting to face Kelvin.Instead, sitting at the center table and sipping iced water with a cold, venomous smirk plastered across her face, was Evelyn. My stomach plummeted. I stopped dead in my tracks, my fists clenching automatically at my sides. "You."Evelyn didn't even blink. She set her glass down with a slow, deliberate clink and looked up, her eyes gleaming with malice. "Welcome, sister."A furious spike of rage hot-wired my nerves. I marched forward, leaning over the edge of the table. "Don't you dare call me that. You are not my sister."Evelyn let out a sharp, mocking scoff, leaning back in her chair. "Please. You think I want to be?"She stood up slowly, smoothing down her designer dress. "You actually came. For a minute, I wanted to believe you had some sense left. I wanted to think you'd ignore Kelvin's pathetic messages, but here I am, proven wrong again.""I see

  • My Ex-husband Knelt Too Late    Logan's Mom

Ethan’s PovAfter Olivia drifted off into a heavy, medicine-induced sleep, I slipped out of the room, my phone pressed tightly against my ear.Your call cannot be completed as dialed..."What the fuck is wrong with him?!" I hissed under my breath, my jaw clenching as the automated operator repeated the same monotone message. I had explicitly told Paul to send my results via text if he couldn't reach me. Now he wasn't answering, and his encrypted line was completely dead.In pure frustration, I threw the phone onto the glass coffee table, the sharp clack echoing through the quiet apartment. I ran both hands through m
