LOGIN◆Paige is pregnant…The silence in Cedric’s office was deafening, heavy with the weight of the emotional turmoil going on in Cedric’s mind. His chest ragged with each breath, his body shivered as he thought about the report he just received. He can't believe Paige is carrying their child. The words echoed in his mind, a stark reality he could no longer ignore. His gaze was fixed on the screen as if he was searching for more information or answers, anything.None came, that was all the report said. He can no longer ignore everything, he has to get everything done once and for all. That confrontation he has been avoiding has to happen now more than ever. Cedric has tried his best to ignore the elephant in the room, he has tried hard not to believe that anyone was capable of such an act, especially….But, right now, he doesn't have the luxury of time anymore, he has to be able to protect the child that Paige will bring into the world. That's if Paige plans to keep the pregnancy.
◆Cedric kept glancing at his watch as he watched the bustle of the city from his office window. It was midday and he hadn't received any report from his men about Paige. He always receives an update before midday, but today, there was nothing. Cedric tried not to allow negative thoughts to erode his mind. Maybe, they are just late or maybe there is actually nothing to report. From all the reports he has gathered from his men watching Paige, she had a quite simple routine. Most times, she was barely seen outside. But the reason why Cedric was extra worried today was because of the report he received yesterday. Paige had gone to the hospital with her friends who arrived at her place not up to a whole day.Cedric has been feeling uneasy since he received that news, however It was bad enough that she had to go to the hospital immediately after her friends arrived. But she had shown no signs of illness before. In fact, she has been in perfect health. In all the pictures he receiv
◆Both Jarvis and Veera were both lounging around in the kitchen, each of them sipping a cup of hot chocolate when Paige waddled inside. She looked like she will fall over anytime. “Why are you girls up so early?” She mumbled amidst her yawn. “The sun is barely rising on the horizon.”“What nonsense are you rambling about? Take a seat, I'll fix you something to warm you up.” Jarvis cautioned, “It's a bit chilly this morning.” “It's because the sun is settling on the horizon,” Veera mumbled as she winked at Paige who gestured her middle finger in response. “I can't believe this is how beautiful you look in the morning. You are glowing my friend.”“It's the pregnancy I guess,” Paige responded“Is this the same for everyone? Too bad I might never be able to experience it.” Veera acknowledged, her gaze shifting to Jarvis who had her focus buried in the flame. She was humming a familiar tune. Veera stared sadly at her. “Why not?” Paige asked her, “Because you both are females? You
◆Unfortunately, after Jarvis and Veera unpacked and freshened up, it was already too late for them to continue their conversation with Paige who seemed to be dozing off to la la land when the girls returned to the living room. “Does she always sleep like this or is this a new habit of hers?” Jarvis questioned Veera, “Knowing her , she found it hard to fall asleep but now she is dozing off in the living room.”“Yiu don't think it's depression or is it?” Veera worried too, “She was kind of acting like everything was just okay and I didn't think anything negative because look at her, she is literally glowing.”“Anyway, let's bring her inside and we can take a nap too. We can fix dinner when we wake up.” Jarvis suggested, “What do you think?”“I think a nap is a perfect idea. I miss my girlfriend.” Veera admitted, “Do you think she has any time for me?” Jarvis grinned, her eyes watching Veera fondly and teasingly, “What girlfriend wouldn't have time for you? Looking beautiful like
◆Almost a month passed before any one heard from Paige again. She had randomly called her friends Jarvis and Veera one afternoon and the ear-splitting scream the two girls let out was enough for Paige to know that the two girls still had her back. Today, she was going to receive them in her home. Paige still can't believe she finally has a place she calls hers. It wasn't luxurious or lavishly decorated. But it was homely and cozy and it was extremely comfortable and above all, she designed and curated the room by her own hands. The room was like an extension of herself and needs. She tried to incorporate some of her childhood memories into decorating and setting the room. She was happy and had so much peace of mind here. The place was a solace for Paige, she grieved the loss of her mother and her breakup with Cedric in this place. Talking about Cedric, she couldn't help but frequently think about him, how he was doing and if he was somehow still thinking about her. Paige ha
◆“I still don't agree with you closing the case of someone constantly harassing you just because you have left your marriage which was the cause of that harassment.”Jarvis argued, she doesn't know what her friend is thinking.“It's exactly because of that reason that I want to close the case, Jarvis. What am I pursuing the case for?” Paige admitted. “I don't want to hold on to that case anymore.” “Okay, but what about you? Who is going to pay for the emotional abuse they caused you?” Veera added and Paige let out a frustrated sigh. She understood the worries and concerns of her friends but Paige has suffered a loss greater than any other. She doesn't think anything could ever hurt her the way the loss of her mother hurts her and when she was laying the woman to rest, Paige made sure to lay everything that worried her poor heart to rest too.She wants to start a new life, the one where she didn't live with problems from her past. “I'll just call Umi later, guys. I have to rest now
