Abigail’s POV

Claire’s face went white. Her hand dropped from mine as if I had burned her. “I…I’m sorry, Luna Abigail. I misspoke in my concern.”

“You called me daughter,” I said, my voice growing stronger despite the pain. “Why would you call me that?”

“It was nothing,” Claire said quickly, backing away from my chair. “Just an old woman’s mistake. You remind me of my own daughter, that’s all.”

“You have no right,” I said, anger cutting through the pain. “No right to address me so familiarly. I am Luna of this pack. You are just—”

The lounge door burst open then. Dr. Matthews rushed in, medical bag in hand, his face flushed from running. The interruption cut off my confrontation with Claire completely.

“Luna Abigail, I came as quickly as I could. What happened?” He knelt beside my chair, immediately checking my pulse and peering into my eyes.

“The cubs…” I gasped, gesturing toward the door. “They bumped into my belly. Hard. I’m having pains.”

Claire stepped back to give the doctor room

  • My Ex's Uncle Claims Me as His Luna   Chapter 67: Deciding What to Do

Samuel’s POVClaire and Abigail turned toward the doorway where I stood. Their faces went pale instantly. Claire looked terrified, her tears still wet on her cheeks. Abigail’s expression shifted from shock to calculation in seconds.“Samuel!” Abigail recovered first, her hand moving to her belly. “How long have you been standing there?”“Long enough.” I entered the room and closed the door behind me. The latch clicked in the sudden quiet.Abigail stepped toward me, eyes narrowing. “This doesn’t concern you. What you heard was private.”“Private?” I raised an eyebrow. “You just threatened to destroy Claire and Layla. That makes it my concern.”“You can’t tell Layla,” Abigail said, her voice dropping to a harsh whisper. “Listen to me carefully. If you breathe a word of this to her, I will kill her. Do you understand?”The threat sat between us, cold and real. I considered my response carefully.“You think I can’t protect her?” I asked coldly. “Day and night, twenty-four hours a day? You

  • My Ex's Uncle Claims Me as His Luna   Chapter 66: The Bitter Truth

Abigail’s POVThe older woman looked at me for a long moment, tears finally spilling down her cheeks. Her lips parted as if she wanted to speak, but no words came out.“I’m waiting,” I said impatiently.Claire closed her eyes, took a shuddering breath, and opened them again. When she spoke, her voice was so quiet I had to strain to hear her.“You want the truth?” she whispered. “The truth about why I called you daughter?”“Yes.”She looked toward the door, as if checking to make sure we were truly alone. Then she turned back to me, her face crumbling.“Because you are my daughter,” she said simply.“What?” I staggered backward, my mind reeling.“You are my daughter,” Claire repeated, tears flowing freely now. “And Layla…Layla is the true Oakshadow princess.”I stared at Claire, my mouth opening and closing like a fish gasping for air. The words she had just spoken made no sense. They couldn’t be true.“That’s impossible,” I whispered, my voice cracking. “You’re lying.”“I wish I were,”

  • My Ex's Uncle Claims Me as His Luna   Chapter 64: Kale Allergy

Abigail’s POVI reached for another spoonful of the kale curry, savoring the blend of spices Mason’s chef had prepared especially for this banquet. The emerald green leaves looked very tempting with the other delicacies spread across our table.Across from me, Father lifted his own spoon to his lips, nodding appreciatively as he tasted the dish. “Excellent preparation,” he commented to Mason. “Your chef has outdone himself.”“Only the finest for family,” Mason replied, beaming at the praise. He gestured grandly toward the other dishes arranged on the pristine white tablecloth. “We spared no expense tonight.”I took another bite, relishing the way the curry warmed my throat. The baby kicked suddenly, making me shift in my chair. My hand moved instinctively to my belly, feeling the little life moving within me.“The heir seems to approve as well,” I said, smiling down at my rounded stomach.Samuel sat beside Layla, cutting his meat. His golden eyes flicked toward me occasionally, but he

Samuel’s POVI watched Mason’s display with disdain. His warriors were impressive—I couldn’t deny that—but the entire demonstration reeked of desperation. Only a man insecure in his position would resort to such blatant intimidation tactics.Beside me, Layla stood rigidly, her fingers gripping her champagne glass tightly. I placed a reassuring hand at the small of her back, leaning close to her ear.“Relax,” I murmured. “It’s just theatrics.”“Expensive theatrics,” she replied softly. “Where did he get the funding for all this?”Before I could answer, the banquet hall doors opened again. The pregnant Abigail entered on her father’s arm, her elegant blue gown flowing around her swollen belly. Alpha Nathaniel walked proudly beside his daughter, his silver-streaked beard neatly trimmed for the occasion.Mason immediately abandoned his warriors, hurrying across the room with an ingratiating smile plastered across his face.“Alpha Nathaniel!” he exclaimed loudly. “And my beautiful wife! I

Mason’s POVI watched Layla from across the banquet hall, her green dress swirling around her long legs as she walked toward my uncle. The silver snake patterns seemed to slither across the fabric when she turned.Samuel had spared no expense, clearly.Jealousy burned in my gut. She should have been at my side tonight, wearing my colors, supporting my campaign. Instead, she stood by my uncle, drawing admiring glances from every male wolf in attendance.I grabbed a glass of wine from a passing server, downing half of it in one swallow. The alcohol did nothing to dull the sharp edge of envy slicing through me.“Quite the statement your uncle’s making,” commented Alpha Richard from the Eastern Territories, appearing at my elbow. “Bringing your Beta as his companion.”“Political theater,” I replied dismissively. “Samuel always did have a flair for the dramatic.”“Is that all it is?” Richard asked, clearly unconvinced. “The way they look at each other suggests otherwise.”I crushed that obs
