Chapter 13 - Test

Liiza's POV

"I was expecting you." I am greeted with a familiar male voice, coming from a figure on a swivel chair from the study, back facing me.

What the hell is happening?

The chair spins around, and it's Andree, with Luca, his dog, on his lap.

The sight of him makes my blood boil. After everything, him ignoring me, treating me like dirt, his dumb remarks and offhanded insults. I don't want to see his face.

"What do you want?" I groan, sit down and take off my stilettos. Not a good choice.

"You passed curfew." He says finally, showing me the time on his phone.

"So what? Are you my mom?"

"No, but I can tell my mom." He says and my eyes widen.

I really, really want to give a good impression to Cassandra. This would ruin it!

"Please don't." I frown, grabbing a glass from the cupboard. "When did you become a snitch, anyway?"

"I'm not." He says. "I just like getting my way."

I take a fat gulp of water and give him an are you kidding me look.

Andree turns his phone around to reveal a snapchat story. 4 hours ago Sierra <3. It reads. It's a video. Of the boys singing.

I freeze, my eyes widening.

"This doesn't look like a party." He smirks, slipping his phone back into his pocket.

"How do you know Sierra?" I ask, intrigued.

"We had a thing like 3 years ago."

The color drains out of my face. Andree? With Sierra? Poor Daniel.

"Anyway, that's beside the point. I posted the video, because why not." Andree shrugs. "Look it up. It's called '5 terrible singers embarrassing themselves.'"

"Why are you such a brat for no reason?" I wash up my glass and leave it to dry, before eyeing the stairs.

I have to talk to Rilee about this. I'll call her in the morning. I decided to set an alarm quickly on my phone for 7am. She's a morning person, anyway.

"I'm going to bed." I say finally, facing Andree and his dumb expression.

"But I'm not done yet!" He lets Luca jump off his lap and stands up to follow me.

I ran up the stairs, sprinting into my bedroom and closing the door in his face.

He fiddles with the handle. "Come on, Liiza! Let me in."

I shake my head to myself. Nope. Suck it Andree.

As I snuggle into my bed covers, I search up the youtube video Andree said he posted.

There it is.

Posted 2 hours ago and the name wasn't exactly what he said it was. It's actually called "Are they Supposed to be a band or what??

"Tomorrow Liiza, I'm not done yet." He calls through the door, dejected and I hear his footsteps getting more quiet as he walks away.

"What do I tell him, Riles?" I spoke on the phone.

"I dunno, tell him to delete the video. Tell him he's being an arsehole. Oh! Why don't you like, hook up with him or something? Then secretly delete the video when he's asleep."

I roll my eyes, my mind racing with all the possibilities. It's so early. "You know, Sierra and Andree had a thing, apparently like years ago."

I hear a gasp from the other end of the phone. "That's crazy! Sierra seemed so sweet." Rilee pauses for a moment, before continuing. "I guess he is pretty hot."

"Shut up!" I say suddenly, even though I actually, secretly agree.

When I first called Rilee, she had searched up the video. It had grown so much overnight.

I scroll through the small collection of comments. They are mostly girls, I think, commenting on how hot they are, or how good they sound.

Move along, girls. You ain't touching my boyfriend. I mean, Zach. You ain't touching Zach.

"Rilee! What should I say?"

"Liiza, just tell him to change the title or something. It seems like people are liking it. You got this, whatever you decide to do.

"Okay. Thanks. Bye!" I hang up, plugging my charger back into my phone.

I get up, giving myself a once-over in the mirror of my vanity.

I looked like a mess. Apparently you shouldn't go to bed with makeup and fully dressed.

After washing my face of all my smudged makeup, braiding my hair and changing into something more comfortable, I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in!" I shout, loud enough for whoever it is to hear.

Turns out it's Andree. He's here to get an answer.

I'm just gonna have to try what Riles suggested.

"Hey." He greets. His voice is calm and gentle, a complete contrast from the curiosity and anger of last night,

"Hey." I repeated back to him. As I clutched my hands together, I could feel my pulse racing. Andree, just delete the video.

Hey, can I have your phone? haha that's random I've deleted the video! I'm so clumsy.

Andree, can I kiss you? Then delete the video.

"Uh, I came to say-"

"I know why you came. I told you I'll explain everything to you, so I-" I start before something very unexpected happens.

Andree is smiling, a wide cheesy grin. He walks over to me, and he's closer, closer, closer. His arms wrap around my body and suddenly i'm in his arms and he's spinning me around.

I let out a giggle as he set me down on the ground again. "What just happened?" I shoot him a bewildered look.

"I passed my chemistry test!"

"Oh my god!" I exclaim, and my arms are back around his neck. "I knew you could do it!" I pull back slightly to see his expression. "No way."

"Yes way." He smiles bashfully, his hands resting on my waist. "I really can't thank you enough Liiza."

"Congrats." I say, finally after a moment of comfortable silence.

"I could kiss you right now." His voice is quiet, almost a murmur. In an instant, it's like our moment never happened. He pulls away, rubbing the back of his neck. "Um, not that I would thou. Like, I would never want to make you feel uncomfortable or anything-"

I swallow my nerves, grabbing the results from the clutches of his hands. He got a 75%!

"You did so much better than a pass Andree!" I grin. "You deserve it."

"Come out with me."

"What?"

"Come out with me, tonight."

"I-"

"Think of it as a thank you." He says, turning on his heel and walking out before I could get in another word.

But Zach. It crosses my mind as I'm getting ready. He's my boyfriend, I mean, everyone thinks he's my boyfriend. I can't. Can I? It's not as if I have much choice in the matter. But-

As I rub my primer into my skin, I try to think of all the possible consequences. In the end, Zach isn't my actual boyfriend. And anyway, it's not a date.
