"Well, that sounds more like a scene from a movie," Maan exclaimed as she set the phone back onto the receiver. her father had called her, out of nowhere when I was explaining to her how I almost died earlier today, and she had hesitated to pick up the phone. I nodded at her to receive it. It wasn’t unusual for Uncle to call so late though, she should have been home by now if not for me. And he had this habit for years, always calling about one thing or another. Most often just to complain about what her mother had been up to, or, more specifically, what she had not been up to.
