The war room smelled like coffee, gun oil, and barely contained violence.

Maps covered every surface. Red lines marked Rhys's dwindling territory. Black X's showed the packs that had already sworn neutrality, or outright defected to us after the evidence drop.

Victor stood at the head of the table, shirt sleeves rolled high, forearms inked and scarred, eyes glowing steady gold. Twenty of his highest-ranking wolves waited for orders.

"Rhys has maybe thirty fighters left," Jax said, tapping a red circle. "Desperate. Cornered. That makes him dangerous, but it also makes him stupid."

Kira stepped forward, chin high. "He's called every favor he's ever owned. Mercenaries. Rogues. Even tried the vampires up north, they laughed in his fa

Chapter 53: The Silent BondThe trek to the safe house was a blur of agony. My body was screaming. I had just given birth in a snowbank, and now I was hiking through a blizzard. Every step sent a jolt of fire through my hips. Blood—hot and sticky—soaked my thighs, freezing against my skin in the biting wind.Jax practically carried me. His arm was a steel band around my waist, taking my weight."Stay with me, Alpha," he grunted, his eyes scanning the tree line for crimson eyes.Alpha.The title tasted like ash. I wasn't the Alpha. Victor was the Alpha. And Victor was...I squeezed my eyes shut, clutching the bundle in my arms.Lyra was silent. Too silent.A normal newborn would be wailing in this cold. But she just watched the trees passing by with those mismatched eyes—one molten gold, one starlight silver. She was warm against my chest, radiating a heat that wasn't human. We reached the secondary safe house an hour later. It was a hidden bunker built into the side of a cliff, a reli

Chapter 52: The First CryThe earth screamed. That was the only way to describe the sound. It wasn't a rumble; it was a shriek of tearing stone and freezing soil.I clutched my newborn daughter to my chest, my body still trembling from the aftershocks of labor. The vernix on her skin was sticky against my own sweat-slicked flesh, but she was warm. She was alive.RIIIIP.A massive, rotting hand burst from the fissure in the snow, just inches from Mara’s feet.It was grey, skeletal, and covered in ancient, rusted armor.Mara scrambled back, clutching the birthing blankets. "The Old Kings," she gasped, her face draining of color. "He raised the Old Kings."The Vampire Lord laughed. It was a sound that seemed to come from everywhere at once."The prophecy says the child will break the lines," he called out, his voice cutting through the chaos. "So let us see if she can survive the ancestors she is meant to replace."More hands broke the surface. Dozens of them. Corpses of ancient werewolv

Chapter 51: Born in BloodThe Blood Moon reached its zenith. It painted the world in shades of crimson and shadow. The sky itself seemed to bleed for what was coming.CRACK.Pain ripped through me like lightning. Sharp. Unrelenting.I collapsed to my knees in the sacred clearing. The snow cushioned my fall, but the cold meant nothing against the fire burning inside my womb."It is time," I gasped, clutching my belly. "Victor... she is coming."Victor dropped beside me. His face was pale under the red light, his gold eyes wide with a terror I had never seen before."Elena," he whispered, his voice thick. "I am here. I’ve got you."His hands trembled as he cradled me. He was the most powerful Alpha in the world, and he looked like he was about to shatter. The pack circled us, facing outward. Their howls rose in a chorus of support—a wall of sound to keep the monsters at bay.Another contraction hit.It was a wave of agony that bent me double. I screamed, gripping Victor's hand hard enou

Chapter 50: The Moon Goddess RisesThe Blood Moon didn't just shine. It bled.It hung heavy in the sky, swollen and crimson, casting the Blackthorn mountains in a light that made the snow look like rivers of red.I stood on the highest ridge. The wind whipped my hair around my face. My cloak billowed behind me like dark wings.Below, the pack had gathered. Hundreds of wolves stood in a vast circle, their eyes reflecting the crimson glow. They were silent. Reverent. This was the night. My scars burned under my skin. But it wasn't pain. It was power. Silver light pulsed brighter with every heartbeat, spreading across my body in intricate, glowing patterns.Thump.Our daughter kicked hard inside me. She knew.Victor stepped forward from the circle. He was naked under the Blood Moon, his body a masterpiece of muscle and scar. His gold eyes locked on mine with an intensity that stole my breath. He hadn't touched me since the binding spell broke. He had held back, waiting for this moment."

Chapter 49: The Blood CageThe binding spell snapped shut around us like the jaws of a steel trap. The ancient stones glowed with a sickly, pulsating red light. Snow swirled inside the circle, trapped with us, whipping against my skin.Outside the barrier, the pack went frantic. I could see Jax and Mara throwing themselves against the invisible wall, their claws scraping uselessly against the magic. They were screaming, but I couldn't hear them. The silence inside the circle was absolute.I clutched Victor’s hand, my body trembling from cold and terror."They planned this," I whispered, the realization hitting me like a physical blow. "The attack was a distraction. They wanted to separate us from the pack."I placed a protective hand over my belly. Our daughter kicked hard—a fierce, frantic rhythm against my ribs.Victor’s arms wrapped around me, pulling me into his chest. He was shaking. The Alpha was shaking."I will tear this down," he vowed, his voice thick with raw fury. "I will

Chapter 48: The Binding CircleThe Vampire Lord’s laugh echoed through the grove like shattering glass.Crimson eyes gleamed in the darkness. Hundreds of them. They surrounded us in a perfect ring of death.Victor stood in front of me. He was a wall of muscle and fury, blood still dripping from his claws. His gold eyes blazed with a rage that made the air tremble. But even through the bond, I could feel his fear."Victor," I whispered, my hands clutching my belly. "There are too many."Tears streamed down my face—hot and endless. My daughter kicked frantically inside me. She knew. They want to take her."I will not let them touch you," Victor vowed, his voice thick and raw. "Either of you."He turned to face the Lord. He didn't wipe the tears from his cheeks. The Vampire Lord stepped forward. His long black cloak billowed like wings."The Alpha fights well," he mocked. "But even the strongest wolf cannot stand against the night eternal. The child carries the Moon’s blood. It belongs t
