Winston’s POV

“I’ve never seen you this angry before, Winston. You’re not as cold as you used to be.”

The voice belonged to Malik, my longest-serving investigator and unfortunately, someone who talked more than he worked although he was the best at his job.

He wore his usual black suit and dark sunglasses like he was playing spy in a low budget thriller. He was in my office, in the seat across from me, clearly trying to sound light-hearted.

I didn’t smile. I didn’t even look up.

Because what he didn’t understand, what no one seemed to grasp was that this wasn’t about being cold. It wasn’t about being ruthless or feared or respected. It was about Sansa.

She had changed everything.

They all thought I’d gone soft. But what they didn’t know was that the only reason I’d let the world breathe easy was because she gave me a reason not to burn it to the ground.

Without her, the man I’d spent a lifetime suppressing, the one the world feared, was clawing his way to the surface.

  • My Father-In-Law's Craziest Obsession   Chapter 61: A Stolen Kiss

Winston’s POVAs soon as I got that call from Malik, I knew I had to act. It was evening but I didn't think twice as I pulled on my shirt and got ready to meet Christian Alexander. Augustine said he'd been a friend from college and Malik said he was the Alexander family heir. I didn't give a fuck who he was, I was going to make him learn not to mess with anyone that was related to the Wolfe Family. I had to teach him a lesson. “Fucking punk! How dare he try to hurt her?" I hissed in anger as I tugged the cuffs of my shirt and stepped out the front door. I checked my watch for the second time and grew even more impatient. No matter what, I had to set up a meeting with him. Malik had to find a way. I hissed under my breath and pushed the thought aside for now. Malik was already setting up the meeting. I just had to show up and make Christian realize that he'd made the biggest mistake of his life by picking on Sansa. I had a feeling those pictures were taken with his permission.

  • My Father-In-Law's Craziest Obsession   Chapter 60: Eureka!

Winston's POV I arrived home from the office feeling more drained than I should. I was not just physically tired, I was mentally drained. Killian was a thorn in my flesh and the more he picked on Sansa, the more I wondered how I'd managed to raise such a cold narcissistic son. “I swear he's a pig!" I hissed and slammed the car door shut. At least the divorce papers were now in my hands. All Sansa had to do was sign it and then I'd get my best lawyers to work at once. Then she'd be free. She'd be free to decide who she wanted. Although the thought of her freedom scared me more than I wanted to admit. I knew I was attractive and many women desired me. Hell! I knew Sansa was madly attracted to me. But what I didn't know was just how long that would last. And what if, what if this wasn't really a blackmail but her way of moving on? I shook my head physically as if to dispel the thoughts and went inside. The moment I stepped through the doors of my estate, the familiar scent of

Sansa’s POVThe city didn’t look like it had changed much, but I had.Augustine dropped me off just as he got to the metropolis.I told him I'd be fine on my own and promised to give him a tour of the city when I had the time. For now, I had to be on my own. The glass walls of the tiny café was shiny and I could practically see my own reflection as I stood outside for a second longer than necessary. I wasn't ready to face people yet. But I had nowhere else to go. My card balance was already down to double digits after I paid Penelope a small stipend from my emergency fund. She was so grateful when I sent it to her, probably because she knew it was all I had left.I finally stepped inside and the bell above the door rang loudly. The café was warm and they still hadn’t fixed the crooked frame of the espresso guide behind the counter from the last time I came. The barista didn’t recognize me, and I was glad. For once, I was invisible.I ordered a black coffee, no sugar. Somehow, I fe

Sansa’s POVI sat still on the edge of the bed, the scent of lavender shampoo from my bath still clinging faintly to my skin. It was morning and I still couldn't keep my nerves at bay. I had hoped the bath would help. That the warm water would rinse off the guilt. The shame. The confusion. But all it did was remind me of how far gone I was.Christian Alexander. The name alone twisted my stomach. There was no hope for my inheritance now. Once I left the Wolfe Estate, I would be dirt broke. And apparently, Winston was eager to get rid of me now that it was clear I was a whore. I picked up my phone and called Ellen before I could second guess myself. I knew I should have done this in person, but I couldn’t look her in the eye. Not today. Not when everything was a mess. “Hey,” she answered cheerfully. “Are you on your way to the office? Christian is expecting to finalize the PR rollout—”“I’m canceling the partnership,” I said flatly. There was a pause on the line. Then a disbelievi

Winston’s Point of ViewI had stared at that damn portrait for too long. Maybe an hour. Maybe two. But I couldn't stop looking at her. Sansa Vale. Or was she still Sansa Wolfe? Dammit! My name sounded better with her first name. “Sansa Wolfe," I tasted it on my tongue. She must always be a Wolfe. Even with Killian gone, I didn't mind giving her my last name. I would never mind giving her my last name. I had never wanted another woman as badly as I wanted her. Many years back, after what I faced with Eleanor and her betrayal, I could have sworn no one else would capture my cold stony heart. But here she was. Stealing every bit of my thoughts without even trying. I turned my face again to the portrait and sighed. She was beautiful. There she was on the large canvas, with her back turned halfway, one delicate shoulder exposed to the camera, her skin lit by some golden light that made her look more ethereal than human. Her hair was tangled around her neck, it was beautiful but wh

  • My Father-In-Law's Craziest Obsession   Chapter 55: Wolfes at the Table

Sansa’s POVSoon after the young man walked in, Augustine Wolfe, everywhere was suddenly quiet. He was no doubt their son. Their second son. I could see the resemblance and he was clearly younger than Killian, maybe in his early twenties. Perhaps even a few years younger than me.The dining room was too quiet, like the air had vanished the moment he walked in.“Father,” he said in a smooth, steady tone.Winston rose to his feet, holding him in the embrace. “Welcome back home, son.”Augustine pulled away and smiled as Winston patted his hair, “you look fatter than I recall," he teased. "Come on, Dad. I've not had the time to eat with all that studying,” he laughed. Winston chuckled but refused to push it. Augustine smiled and walked past Eleanor without a glance. I couldn't help but notice that this wasn't the welcome a son should give his mother after returning home from overseas. Eleanor must have noticed too, she had frozen mid motion, her arms parted in anticipation, waiting t

  • My Father-In-Law's Craziest Obsession   Chapter 54: The Shame I Cannot Wash Away

Sansa’s POVThe walls of my room were too tight.I sat curled up on the edge of the bed, my knees drawn to my chest, arms wrapped so tightly around them I could feel the imprint of my nails on my skin. It had been two days. Two long, breathless, soul-tearing days since that portrait was unveiled in the dining room.I felt nothing but disgust for myself. As if on cue, my stomach twisted again and I heaved. Quickly, I stumbled to my feet and rushed to the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet before vomiting. My entire body shook as the sour taste of shame poured out of me. Nothing came up but water. The only thing I'd managed to drink in two days, and even that rejected me.My chest heaved as I gripped the cold porcelain bowl. I didn't know how to feel anymore. Should I guilty, angry, broken, terrified? Maybe all of them.As I stayed leaned on the toilet bowl, a knock suddenly sounded at the door.I froze. The knocking came again, firmer this time, followed by a soft voice. “Mis

  • My Father-In-Law's Craziest Obsession   Chapter 53: A Surprise before Sunrise

Winston's POVSansa naked. Sansa naked. Another man. Those words settled in my guts and I wanted to explode. How did Eleanor lay hands on this? Was this the surprise she'd mentioned? The sudden crash of glass startled me more than the portrait itself and I turned sharply to the sound, drawn from my thoughts. Sansa had stood up so suddenly that her knee hit the edge of the table, toppling her glass, her plate, and everything before her. “Ma'am?" The maid rushed to her side, trying to steady her. Sansa slumped back into the chair, her chest heaving like she couldn't breathe, her fingers trembling as they clutched the edge of the seat like it was the only thing keeping her from crumbling into dust. She looked at the painting again. Her face was so pale and horrified that he didn’t even try to speak.Eleanor, ever chuckled sweetly. “Oh, my darling,” she crooned. “I only wanted to present this very beautiful picture of you and your lover to your father-in-law. Since he doesn’t seem
