The cold silence that followed the gunfire was worse than the storm itself.

Shards of glass sparkled across the floor like tiny daggers. The summit room had turned into a war zone, frozen mid-chaos. A chair was toppled. A silver pitcher bled water across the marble. Verona’s face was smeared with blood, but his eyes wild and furious, were locked on Grace.

“I gave you everything,” he snarled, voice gravelled from rage. “And you turned it into a circus.”

Grace stood tall, hair tousled, lips slightly parted. Blood dripped from a shallow cut along her arm, but she didn’t flinch. Her eyes, unblinking, remained fixed on him.

“You didn’t give me anything,” she said coolly. “You stole everything.”

Nathaniel held Verona in a chokehold, his arms corded with tension. “Give me one reason not to end you.”

“Because if you kill me,” Verona gasped, “you’ll never find the rest of what Vincent left behind.”

Everyone froze.

Adrian, who had just disabled a final attacker at the window, turned sharply. “W

The sky over Prague was bruised with the purple hues of early evening as Grace Ashford stepped out of the limo, wrapped in midnight blue silk that shimmered like moonlight on water. The grand opera house, now transformed into the venue for Roland Eckhart’s infamous annual charity ball, loomed like a palace of secrets.Grace's steps were steady, calculated, her arm entwined with Nathaniel’s. Every movement was rehearsed, every glance choreographed. This wasn’t just a party. It was a battlefield dressed in velvet and gold.As she reached the entrance, cameras flashed, their lights stinging like hornets. Journalists called her name, hungry for a quote from the woman who’d dethroned Verona and survived a corporate war.Grace offered a poised smile. The Queen had arrived.Inside the Wolf’s DenThe ballroom glittered with opulence, golden chandeliers, marble columns, and a sea of masked elites moving to the delicate waltz of a live orchestra.Everyone was watching her.Nathaniel leaned in,

Zurich basked in golden sunlight, a deceptive calm cloaking the undercurrent of tremors rippling across the global economy. Ashford Holdings had survived the storm, barely. The world watched Grace Ashford rise like a phoenix from the ashes of family betrayal and corporate ruin. But within the calm came a silence too sharp to ignore.Grace stood on the rooftop of the Ashford Zurich headquarters, overlooking the skyline. Her white coat fluttered in the breeze, her hair loosely tied back. From behind, Nathaniel watched her, arms crossed, his eyes filled with worry.“You haven’t spoken since the press conference,” he said gently.Grace didn't turn. “I’m processing.”He stepped beside her, his presence grounding. “You did it, Grace. You took him down.”She finally looked at him. “And yet I don’t feel triumphant. I feel… unfinished.”Nathaniel nodded slowly. “Because it’s not just about Verona. It's about the blood that’s stained everything he touched, including us.”Grace exhaled deeply. “

The vault felt colder now.Not because of temperature, but the weight of history hanging thick in the air.Grace stared at the steel shelves, lined with folders and ancient documents, the last legacy of her father’s vision. The letter still trembled in her hand. The words a hidden heir repeated over and over in her mind like a haunting echo. Her father had a secret, no, more than one. There was someone else, someone born of blood and Ashford name, unknown to the world.Grace took a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm.Behind her, Father Durand stood in the doorway like a reluctant gatekeeper.“What do you know about the hidden heir?” she asked him, her voice low but lethal. He hesitated, wringing his hands. “That is not my story to tell.”“It is now,” she snapped. “You think I came all the way here to play games?”The old priest looked into her eyes and saw the fire of Vincent in them. It was no longer a little girl he once blessed, it was a woman on the verge of becoming an emp

The descent into Istanbul was quiet, the kind of quiet that hummed with unsaid things and sleepless thoughts. As the jet sliced through the golden dawn, the ancient city beneath them shimmered in anticipation. East met West here, a collision of history and rebellion, and now, it would become the battleground for something even bigger.Grace stood at the window, hand pressed against the glass, her thoughts miles away.A child.War.Nathaniel behind her, silent and protective. And somewhere in the shadowed corners of Europe, Verona. She turned to Nathaniel. “Once we touch down, there’s no turning back.”“There never was,” he replied, his eyes darker than usual. “This isn’t about survival anymore, Grace. It’s legacy. You, me, and what we’re building.”The Gathering StormThe safehouse in Istanbul wasn’t just a house. It was a fortress hidden behind a crumbling library facade in Beyoğlu, where ancient texts met encrypted tunnels.Within hours of arrival, allies started trickling in.Some

Grace could feel her heartbeat echo in her ears. It wasn’t the blackout or the flaming “V” burning across the Paris skyline that made her blood run cold. It was the recording.“He’s after your heir...”Aria’s voice played over and over in her mind, even as the file corrupted and vanished like smoke. Grace clutched her abdomen instinctively. She hadn’t told Nathaniel. She hadn’t even said it out loud to herself. But the test, the single line that turned into two, had changed everything. Now Verona knew.He always knew how to get under her skin. This wasn’t just about power anymore. It was about blood. About her child.Nathaniel’s child. The future. Her entire body tensed. No one, not even Verona, was going to steal that away from her.The Safehouse Isn’t Safe AnymoreNathaniel lit a candle inside the darkened Parisian safehouse, his jaw tight with frustration.“Paris is offline,” he muttered. “All major power grids. Verona hijacked the city.”Celeste paced near the window, her eyes dar
