Chapter 16

I was bored at home and needed to get some fresh air; Jackson was not available to assist, so I took my car key and drove out of my apartment.

I drove to the old man's cottage and exhaled a sigh of relief when I got out of the car.

"I'm home, old man," I said as I took off my shoes.

"Cynthia," he exclaimed, surprised.

"Yes, old man, you're always surprised to see me," I say as I raise my brows.

"It's simply overwhelming to see you all the time. You never forget about me, even if you're living better out there and always feel more at ease here "he said, and I dashed over to hug him, calming him down.

"I will never forget you, old man, and I will be eternally grateful to you."

I kissed his cheeks and said.

"I hope you don't beg on the street again, old man." I had enquired.

"It's difficult to stop Cynthia," he said quietly.

"Old man,"

"I'm already addicted," he admitted to me.
