Don Antonio’s POV

The baby was finally here, and our world was filled with a new kind of light. But even with a new life in our arms, there was still one more thing to do, one more final step to take in building our new future. We had to build a nursery, a safe, beautiful space for our son, a place completely free from the shadows of our past.

We spent days designing and building it together. It was a beautiful, chaotic blur of paint swatches, wood shavings, and tiny baby furniture. We were so different in our approach. I was a man of control and order, wanting everything to be perfectly planned. I had spreadsheets and blueprints, and I had even hired a team of designers to come in and do the work.

But Alexa, with her artist's heart, just laughed at my plans. "Antonio," she said, her voice filled with a gentle, patient love. "We're building a home, not a fortress. It has to be ours. We're doing this together."

She was right, of course. We sent the designers home, and we got to work, j

  • My Godfather is my Soulmate   140. Final Notes

Alexa’s POVThe years that followed our wedding were a quiet, happy blur. We were a family now, a simple family of three, and our life was a world away from the chaos and conflict of the past. Our days were filled with the small, beautiful moments that make up a real life—the sound of my son's laughter echoing through the halls, the sight of Antonio, a man who had once commanded an empire, now just a father, teaching our boy to throw a ball in the backyard.I had found a happiness I never knew was possible, and I saw a peace in Antonio's eyes that had never been there before. He was a different man now, a man who had traded his power and his ruthlessness for a love and a kindness that was so pure it took my breath away. He was not just a father; he was a friend, a mentor, and the most patient, loving man I had ever known. We were raising our son with a sense of peace that was so absent from our own lives. We taught him to be kind, to be honest, and to be brave. We taught him that true

  • My Godfather is my Soulmate   139. Difficult Conversations

Alexa’s POVMy mom’s visits were always filled with a quiet tension. I loved her, but there was a distance between us ever since the hospital incident, a space filled with all the things we never talked about. She had always struggled to believe that I had found a real, honest love, and now that I was a mother myself, it was even harder for her to accept. She came to the house and held Alex, my son, a small, beautiful life in her arms. She looked at him with a profound love, but there was a hint of sadness in her eyes. I knew she was thinking about the past, "He's beautiful, Alexa," she said, her voice a soft whisper. "He looks just like you.""He has Antonio’s eyes," I said, a small smile on my face. She looked at me, a flicker of something close to pain in her eyes. "He's a good man," she said, almost to herself. "I never thought... I never thought you would fall for someone like him. In all honesty, I still find it hard to believe all this is happening."I knew she was struggling.

  • My Godfather is my Soulmate   138. My Old World

Don Antonio’s POVMy phone rang, a sharp, insistent sound that shattered the quiet of my peaceful afternoon. It was Alexa. Her voice was thin, and filled with a cold, controlled fear I hadn't heard in a very long time. I was instantly on high alert, immediately dropping the rake I was using to clear the garden and focusing my attention on her."Antonio… baby,” she said, her voice a small whisper. "I got one weird package that has your name on it. It is wrapped in black, and your name is written on it with a golden ink."A cold dread washed over me. I had seen this before. I had sent these messages before. This wasn't a warning; it was a declaration of war. I raced home, my mind a blur of old reflexes and new fears. I found her in her studio, holding a small box. Her hands were shaking. I took it from her, my heart pounding against my ribs.“Where is baby Alex?” I asked in a worried but sharp tone.“He is already sleeping. I didn't want him affected by any of this.”I frantically unwra

  • My Godfather is my Soulmate   136. Father's Day

Don Antonio’s POV The next nine months were a time of waiting and a kind of quiet excitement I had never known. The world, with all its former demands and dangers, faded into the background. All that mattered was the new life growing inside Alexa and the incredible change it brought to both of us.I had been a man of action, a man who planned every move and expected a quick result. But a pregnancy taught me patience. It was a slow, beautiful journey with no shortcuts. I found myself humbled by it. I would attend every doctor’s appointment, my old suit and tie replaced with a comfortable sweater and jeans. I would sit there, my heart pounding, just waiting for the doctor to put that little wand on Alexa's stomach and show us the new life growing within her. I'd listen to the fast little heartbeat, and in that sound, I found more joy than I ever did in the roar of a crowd.I became a doting husband, attending to her every need with a tenderness that I never knew I was capable of. I wou

  • My Godfather is my Soulmate   135. Joy of Motherhood

Alexa’s POVThe doctor’s office was quiet, but my heart was thumping so loud I was sure Antonio could hear it. I was holding his hand, and his grip was so tight it was almost painful. For a man who had always been in control, who had never shown a flicker of fear, he was more nervous than I was. The doctor smiled, her eyes filled with a gentle, shared joy, and then she said the words that changed everything. "I can guess that someone is panicking. But you don't have to. Infact, I would say a very big congratulations to you. You're pregnant."A wave of pure, overwhelming joy washed over me, and when I turned, I saw Antonio's face break into a genuine, radiant smile that reached his eyes. He let go of my hand and wrapped his arms around me, holding me so tight I couldn't breathe. It wasn't the kind of celebratory hug a man gives when he wins a deal or closes a merger. It was a hug filled with a profound sense of awe, of gratitude, and a beautiful, quiet humility. In the weeks that follo
