Chapter 6 Looking Gorgeous

The next day!

Areiza stood in front of the full-length mirror and looked at herself. She wore a long white evening dress, a pair of high heels, and a pair of diamond earrings. She had her hair tied up in a loose bun…

As Areiza looked at herself, she felt that something was missing…

Then her eyes fell on the black choker necklace with a small turquoise on it and she smiled. It was the gift her father gave to her mother and her mother gave it to her…

“Are you done? Aria, come on, let me see. Can’t you put your phone on a place where I can see you?” Snow said from the other end of the phone. They both are having a video call as Areiza getting dressed for the party.

While Areiza was getting dressed for the party, Snow was protesting loudly from the other end of the phone.

“No, I will let you see me when I am fully dressed. Until please calm down.” Areiza said.

After she finished speaking, Areiza picked up light pink lipstick and applied it to her lips. She pouted her lips to see how it looked.

After everything was done, she looked at herself in a mirror again… As she looked at herself, Areiza felt uneasy in her heart.

At first, she didn’t want to go to that party with Darren. She and Darren were already divorced, and she didn’t want to have anything with him…

But when she thought about Jennifer and Lillian, she couldn’t brace herself to say no. After all, they both loved her very much and treated well all the time. What’s more, she also liked them, so she decided to go with Darren.

“Aria… Come on, let me see you?” Snow said from the phone.

Hearing Snow’s voice Areiza came out from her daze and after looking herself one more time in the mirror, she walked in front of her phone took it in her hand, and angled the camera toward herself…

“Oh My God!” Snow exclaimed and covered her mouth. For a moment, she stopped moving…

Looking at her frozen like this, Areiza couldn’t help but feel puzzled… “What’s wrong, is the signal not good? I can’t hear you…” Areiza asked.

“Aria… you look stunning. If I am a man, I will certainly be going to fall for you… No, no, no… I think I am already in love with you… Aria, let me tell you all the man in the party today are going to fall for you…” Snow said.

“Mrs. Venzor, if we don’t set out now, we will have to take the helicopter,” David, the driver called her from the driveway.

“Thank you so much for your compliment. I have to go now. I am already running late. Let’s talk later.” After Areiza finished speaking, she hung up the phone.

Areiza lifted her dress and went downstairs carefully.

“Mrs. Venzor, you look very beautiful. You will be a sensation at the party tonight.” David said as he opened the door for her.

“Thank you, David, Let’s go,” Areiza said and sat inside the car. She usually didn’t like to attend such a formal event, but today she was looking forward to this party.

“Will we make it?”

“We will, Mrs. Venzor. Trust me.” After David finished speaking, he stepped on the accelerator and drove toward the Blue Bay Hotel.

It didn’t take long before Areiza arrived at the hotel.

She got out of the car and the cold evening wind made her shiver. Fortunately, it should be warm inside, Areiza said in her heart.

As Areiza entered the banquet hall, many eyes fell in her direction. Feeling the eyes of so many people, Areiza felt a little nervous.

Did I somehow go overboard with my outfit? She thought in her heart.

“Aria… You are finally here.” Suddenly Jennifer’s voice came from the side.

Areiza looked at Jennifer who was approaching her and had a sigh of relief. She also walked over and said, “Hi, Grandma. Sorry, I am late.”

“Our Little Princess is here.” Lillian, who was also walking toward her with her husband Frank, said with a smile.

Areiza also looked at them and smiled.

“Dad, mom. I am so happy to see you here. At the time when I was abroad, I will miss you guys a lot. And I am sorry for coming late.”

“Oh, don’t worry about that. The best is always the last one to show up anyway.” Lillian said with a smile.

Areiza looked around the banquet hall. Then, her eyes fell on a young man, who was looking in her direction, and waving at her. The man was Alex.

Areiza nodded to the man and then continued to look around the hall. Then, suddenly her eyes met with a pair of cold eyes. It was Darren, and he was looking straight into her eyes. Other than his usual detached look, tonight there is also something else in his eyes… However, what is that… Areiza can’t point out…

“Who is she?”

“She is so beautiful! She is even more beautiful than Hallie.”

“I think that’s the girl Lillian and Frank had adopted. Don’t you think she is magnificent?”

Everyone in the party started to whisper among themselves.

“It’s only been a few since I had not seen you and you became even more beautiful!” Alex said as she walked towards her with a smile on his face.

Dominic was also beside him.

As Alex hugged Areiza, she felt that someone was looking at her coldly. Areiza looked around to see, and her eyes fell on Darren who was standing not far away on the stage and looking in their direction. He was looking at them with his cold and unreadable eyes. This time she can able to see the anger in his eyes.

“Ladies and gentlemen, before we start the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Blue Ocean Group, let us first invite our dear CEO of, Mr. Darren Venzor, for his opening speech.”

Areiza's eyes were looking at Darren, as he went on the stage. He smiled at the host and shook hands with him. The cold look on his face was gone, and he started giving his speech in a warm tone which Areiza had never heard him use before.

As he was giving his speech, his eyes met with Areiza, and she also looked back at him.

There were also a few reporters who were invited to the party tonight. After Darren’s speech, they were allowed to ask him a few questions.

“Mr. Venzor, there is rumor going around that you and Miss Hallie are getting married soon? Is that true?”

“Was it you who arranged the billboard of “Hallie will you marry me?”
